Chapter 215 Is It Really Him?
Kimberly!
She looked stunning in a sharp black suit, white shirt, nude stockings, and high heels, with flawless makeup that screamed professional elegance.
William turned, saw Kimberly's surprised face, and chuckled, "Nice to see you again."
Kimberly blushed, recalling their last encounter at the cake shop in the amusement park. Quickly changing the subject, she said, "Yeah, didn't expect to see you here."
If William hadn't helped her last time, Jimmy would've driven her nuts. Later, she found out Jimmy's family went bankrupt. She couldn't sleep for days, wondering if William had anything to do with it. He seemed so ordinary.
Kimberly blinked and asked, "Who's your date?"
"I came alone," William replied with a smile.
Nearby, a group of girls noticed them and started gossiping. Bianca Green, the oldest and self-proclaimed mature one, strutted over to Kimberly, swaying her hips with a practiced confidence.
As Bianca and the girls approached, every guy in the hall turned to stare. These girls were stunning, like models in a fashion show.
"Isn't that Bianca?" someone whispered. "Who's that guy she's heading to? Do you know him?"
"No idea. Never seen him before. He looks so plain. How'd he get in?"
Bianca reached Kimberly, gave William a disdainful look, and said coldly, "Hey, stay away from Kimberly. She's out of your league!"
William, mid-conversation with Kimberly, was taken aback. He stared coldly at the group of young but maturely dressed girls, sensing their hostility.
"Sorry, I don't know what you're talking about," William said calmly.
Kimberly, also stunned, tugged Bianca's arm, "Bianca, don't be like this. He's my friend."
"Friend? He looks like a bum trying to fool naive girls like you," Bianca scoffed, poking Kimberly's head. "I'll handle this."
Fool naive girls?
William was confused, looking at these hostile women, thinking they must've misunderstood something.
"What are you staring at? Am I wrong? Look at yourself and look at us. What makes you think you can pursue Kimberly?"
Bianca sneered, "Everyone here is wealthy or successful. You, dressed like that, don't belong. I bet you snuck in. Leave now, or security will deal with you."
"Bianca, stop. He really is my friend," Kimberly said, anxious.
But Bianca ignored her, pulling Kimberly away and glaring at William, "Don't let me see you near Kimberly again, or you'll regret it!"
William just shook his head with a wry smile. These girls were something else.
Back at the sofa, Bianca and the others surrounded Kimberly, trying to convince her to stay away from William.
"Kimberly, don't fall for guys like him. They prey on naive girls," Bianca lectured.
The other girls chimed in.
Cherie Wood suddenly said, "Did you hear? Xavier from our city got taken down!"
"Yeah, everyone's talking about it!"
"I was shopping nearby that night and I saw it happen. Xavier and his men got arrested!"
The girls buzzed with excitement and admiration. Xavier, a big shot, was taken down in one night!
"Who did it? Must be someone powerful," Bianca and the others asked eagerly.
The girl pulled out her phone, "It was incredible. I took a picture from a distance. It's not clear, but look—this guy—he's so handsome! He had so many people with him. Xavier even begged for mercy."
As she relived the moment, her legs trembled with excitement.
The girls crowded around, staring at the blurry photo.
The scene was intense! Especially the man stepping on Xavier, his features partially visible as he looked up at the camera.
He was handsome and dominant! Especially with that wicked smile of his!
He was their dream guy!
They were dying to know who this person powerful enough to take down Xavier was.
"Wait, doesn't this guy look familiar?" Cherie blinked, pouting.
Yes, he did. But where had they seen him before?
"Oh my God! Isn't this the guy who was talking to Kimberly?" one of the girls exclaimed in shock.
