Chapter 459 We Finally Meet

Margaret shuddered and stammered, "Nothing, I'm going to cook."

Saying this, she giggled and ran to the kitchen.

William frowned but didn't ask further, just sat in the living room playing on his phone.

Margaret hid in the kitchen, sneaking a few glances at William. Seeing he wasn't suspicious, she felt relieved.

She took out a small item from her pocket, a tiny earpiece.

It was a bug she bought at the market that morning.

She had just secretly installed the bug in William and Mary's bedroom and was about to test it downstairs when she ran into William.

After busying herself for a while, Margaret wiped her hands and walked to the living room.

"Hey William, can I ask you something?"

Margaret sat down with a smile.

William nodded without looking up, "What is it?"

Margaret hesitated for a long time before cautiously asking, "That old ring we found in Lucy's room last time, what is it? You seemed really nervous and concerned about it."

William immediately looked up, raising an eyebrow, and asked suspiciously, "Why are you asking about that?"

Margaret chuckled, "Nothing, just curious."

The atmosphere grew cold.

William didn't answer.

Margaret, feeling unsatisfied, asked again, "Do you have the ring with you? Can I see it? I've never seen it before."

William put down his phone and looked at Margaret coldly, "Spill it, what's going on? Why are you so nosy?"

Margaret panicked, especially when she met William's cold gaze, she felt very scared.

"Oh no, my chicken soup!"

Margaret slapped her thigh and hurriedly ran to the kitchen, avoiding the topic altogether.

Watching her run away, William shook his head helplessly.

Margaret better not stir up trouble.

In the afternoon, William went to the delivery company.

After all, it was his business, and as the boss, he had to check in.

After greeting some colleagues and investing some money, William left the company and went to see Alan.

Because the underground trade fair was about to start.

Alan had been very busy lately, and William wanted to check on the situation.

William sat in a chair, with Alan and Patricia standing respectfully in front of him.

He took a sip of tea and asked, "How confident are you about the underground trade fair?"

Alan glanced at Patricia and answered honestly, "Sixty percent confident we can maintain the current situation, thirty percent confident we can take part of the Southern District."

Alan looked bitter as he said this.

There was no choice; this year's underground trade fair was too popular, attracting many unrelated forces.

Even people from Imperial City were participating.

Alan really wasn't very confident.

William frowned and asked Alan, "So low? Is there a problem with this year's underground trade fair?"

Alan was someone William had chosen, and William had his own plans.

If Alan's forces collapsed, his plan would be delayed.

"Mr. Jones, this year's underground trade fair is more difficult than previous ones. In the past, it was just forces from Lindwood City and the Southern District dividing interests. But this time, many forces from other areas have come, like the Shadow Wolves from Sunshine Bay City and the Gonzales family from Imperial City," Alan explained, a hint of helplessness in his eyes.

"The Gonzales family from Imperial City?" William muttered, a cold smile appearing on his lips, "I'll handle that. What about the others?"

Alan and Patricia exchanged glances, then Alan said, "Mr. Jones, to be honest, the mastermind behind this year's underground trade fair seems different. It's said that the boss behind the scenes has spread a lot of rumors, attracting many forces to get involved. And from what I've heard, the boss is quite influential."

Alan needed William's help to gain more benefits.

This was his only reliance.

William fell silent, pondering, and asked, "Is there really a boss behind the scenes controlling the underground trade fair?"

Alan nodded, "Yes, Mr. Jones. It's like a roulette game. The host spins the wheel, and people place their bets. If they bet correctly, they win. Of course, the host can also decide who wins."

William immediately understood; it was an unspoken rule.

"Have you found out who the boss behind the scenes is?" William asked.

Alan shook his head, "Very mysterious, can't find out."

William frowned, sat for a few minutes, then stood up, "Alright, we'll see when the time comes."

Saying this, he patted Alan's shoulder and smiled, "Don't worry, you're my guy. Whatever you want, I'll get it for you."

Alan was thrilled to hear this and nodded respectfully, "Thank you, Mr. Jones."

With that, William put his hands in his pockets and left the office.

Meanwhile, back at Villa No.1.

In the living room, Margaret stood obsequiously to the side, while a woman exuding elegance and nobility sat on the sofa.

It was Jessica.

Behind her was Zoe, and at the door were the Miller family's guards.

Ten minutes ago, Jessica had arrived, scaring Margaret into stuttering.

"Ms. Miller, do you have any other instructions?"

Margaret asked cautiously.

She was the type to bully the weak and fear the strong. Jessica had only hit her a few times, and she was already terrified.

But William had hit her several times, and Margaret wasn't afraid.

Because in Margaret's mind, William was a wimp.

Who knows what Margaret was thinking.

Jessica sat on the sofa, glanced coldly at Margaret, scaring her into lowering her head, afraid Jessica would hit her.

"I'm just passing by to remind you not to forget what I asked you to do."

Jessica said coldly, her tone full of command.

Margaret nodded repeatedly, "I know, Ms. Miller. Don't worry, I'll get it done."

No choice, it was a matter of life and death.

Margaret could only hope Mary was carrying a girl.

Jessica added, "Also, I need you to keep an eye on William and report his every move to me."

Actually, Jessica could have had her people do this.

But her people couldn't see inside the villa.

That was why she needed Margaret.

"Okay."

Margaret nodded submissively. This wasn't a big deal; she could do it.

After a few more words, Jessica finally left the villa.

Only then did Margaret feel relieved.

Jessica's aura was even more intimidating than before.

Mary was out shopping with Lucy and Sarah.

After a round of shopping, Mary and Lucy rested at a coffee shop.

Sarah wanted ice cream, so Lucy took her to get some, leaving Mary alone in the coffee shop.

Mary sat, chatting with William on her phone.

At this moment, a young woman suddenly sat down in front of Mary.

She looked to be in her early twenties, very young, beautiful, and elegant.

Especially her eyes, which looked a lot like William's!

Mary raised her eyebrows, a gentle smile on her face, and asked, "Who are you?"

The girl across from her smiled, revealing dimples, her big eyes sparkling, and happily extended her hand to Mary, "Mary, we finally meet."
