Chapter 365 Slapping Frenzily
William had never heard such a wild demand before.
He raised his hand and slapped her, his face ice-cold as he snapped, "Margaret, have you lost your mind? Are you starting trouble again?"
The slap echoed through the room, leaving Margaret stunned.
She was pissed, but the slap shut her up real quick.
Still fuming, she yelled, "William, who do you think you are, hitting me? I'm your mother-in-law! So what if I fire Lucy? I just can't stand her! With her around, there's no room for me in this house!"
She plopped down on the sofa, covering her face and seething.
William was getting way too cocky!
This couldn't go on; if it did, she'd lose her place in this family for good.
She had to figure out a way to deal with him!
"Fine, then get out!" William shot back, not budging an inch.
"You! You're driving me nuts! I'm telling Mary, and I want you two to get a divorce!" Margaret screamed, chucking a pillow in rage. She glared at Tyler and shouted, "Tyler, why are you just standing there? Didn't you see William hit me? Are you my husband or not? Hit him back for me!"
Tyler looked torn, constantly winking at Margaret as he said, "Calm down, okay? If William doesn't want change the nanny, so be it. Why the fuss?"
Upon hearing this, Margaret got even more furious!
William hit her, and Tyler was taking his side.
She couldn't take it anymore!
Margaret glared at Tyler and snapped, "Tyler, you weren't saying that just now. Now you're siding with him?"
William couldn't take it anymore and yelled, "Enough!"
He then stared at Margaret and warned, "Margaret, I'm giving you a chance. I can let this slide today, but you have to bring Lucy back. If I don't see her at home tomorrow, you can get out!"
Margaret's heart skipped a beat, and she was fuming and annoyed.
William wanted to kick her out?
How infuriating!
Margaret ignored Tyler's advice, shook off his arm, and shouted, "Why! Why should I get out!"
William was about to head upstairs but turned around and stared at Margaret, his eyes cold as ice, and said, "Because this is my place!"
Margaret fell silent, glaring at William as he went upstairs.
Tyler pulled Margaret and said, "Enough. Go get Lucy back tomorrow. If William really gets mad, it won't end well for either of us."
Margaret roared, "I'm not going. If you want her back, you do it! What's he so arrogant about? Just because he has some money, he's still a loser. Does he really think I don't know? His family is bankrupt, and he still puts on airs."
Margaret, fuming, sat in the living room, stewing for a long time.
The next day, when William got back from the hospital, he saw Margaret sitting in the living room.
"Where's Lucy?" he asked casually.
"I don't know," Margaret replied coldly, watching TV and munching on an apple, looking very relaxed.
William frowned, walked up to her, and asked coldly, "You didn't go to bring her back?"
Margaret was really asking for trouble, treating his words like they were nothing.
"Bring her back for what? She left on her own. What does that have to do with me! I'm not going, so what?" Margaret said irritably.
She was already in a bad mood, and seeing William still bugging her about Lucy made her even more upset.
Was she not as important as an outsider?
William raised an eyebrow and said coldly, "I'll give you one hour to bring her back. If she's not back in an hour, you can get out of here!"
After saying that, William sat on the sofa and watched the time.
Margaret couldn't tolerate William's constant bossing around, so she instantly grew furious.
She started cursing, "William! What do you mean? You're making such a fuss over an outsider? You want to kick me out? Fine, I get it. You are interested in Lucy, right? Otherwise, why are you taking such good care of her?"
She was really furious.
William's face changed, and he got up and slapped her, scolding, "Margaret, shut up! You can insult me, but you can't insult Lucy! How can you say such nasty things?"
Margaret lost it, shoving William and cursing, "She's a homewrecker, and you two are cheaters. Fine, William, how dare you bring your mistress home? I'll tell Mary, you two must get a divorce! I'll tell everyone and make sure you leave with nothing!"
'William is such a loser! And he even keeps a mistress! I have to expose him!' Margaret swore to herself.
But what she got in response was a kick!
William kicked her hard, sending her sprawling on the floor, and coldly said, "Margaret, don't think too highly of yourself! I don't give a damn about you!"
Margaret was scared; she didn't expect William to hit her.
She was both afraid and furious, shouting, "How dare you hit me? I'm going to sue you!"
But then, she got another slap.
Seven or eight slaps came in a row!
William grabbed Margaret by the hair and dragged her out of the villa, saying, "You have fifty minutes left. You know what to do. If I don't see Lucy back here by then, we'll settle all old and new scores together!"
Margaret was scared and guilty, begging, "Stop hitting me. I'll go. I'll go."
Looking pitiful, she fixed her hair, her face red, and hurriedly ran out.
About half an hour later, she brought Lucy back.
"William," Lucy called softly.
She had visible injuries on her face and seemed afraid to look directly at William.
William took one look and understood what had happened. He glared at Margaret and shouted, "Did you hit her?"
Terrified, Margaret lowered her head and glanced around nervously, explaining, "It was an accident."
"Apologize," William said coldly.
Upon hearing this, Margaret bristled with anger and said, "Are you joking?"
But when she met William's cold gaze, she got scared and quickly nodded and bowed to Lucy, saying, "I'm sorry."
To be honest, Margaret was quite furious.
She was competitive and petty—a real scoundrel.
'Damn it! Lucy and William, just wait, I'll make you regret this!' Margaret vowed to herself.
After apologizing, she turned and left.
William ignored her, looked at Lucy, and smiled. "It's okay. I'm here."
Lucy's eyes welled up with tears. She had been beaten and scolded by Margaret the day before. Humiliated, she had left in a huff.
Margaret went out to complain to her friends.
At this moment, William's phone rang. It was a text from Harper, asking him to join her for a drink at the bar.
After thinking for a moment, William took a cab straight to the bar.
The bar was a good place; every sleepless night, many young men and women came here to vent their frustrations and excess energy.
Moreover, drinking in this place, under the strong stimulation of alcohol, men and women would often act out, but no one minded, and everyone was open with each other.
As soon as William stepped into the bar, he noticed the dance floor filled with men and women, wildly swaying their arms and heads, their bodies moving in a frenzied rhythm, drenched in a mix of sweat and alcohol.
William found a random spot to sit down and ordered a cocktail.
One sip was all it took for him to notice something unique about the drink. It had a bittersweet flavor that tingled his throat, blending spiciness with a cool, stimulating sensation.
Sitting there savoring his drink, William attracted the attention of many women.
One of them, wearing a black spaghetti strap top and ultra-short hot pants, drenched in sweat from dancing, walked straight up to him, sat on his lap, and coyly said, "Sir, want to go on a date? Just for tonight."
William looked at her seductive body and pretended to be naive, asking, "You mean a one-night?"
The girl, clearly drunk, blushed and said, "Yeah."
William silently told himself, 'I must restrain myself.'
Then he said with a mischievous grin, "Sorry, I was just joking."
The girl glared at him, angrily stood up, pushed him, and said, "What do you mean? You jerk!"
With that, she stomped off in her high heels, fuming.
William thought helplessly, 'Are all girls like this nowadays?'
Just then, a voice sounded beside him. "Why didn't you take her up on it? It was a rare opportunity."
At the same time, a seductive fragrance wafted into his nose, making him feel hot all over!
