Chapter 233 Everyone Shut the Hell Up

Anouk, wearing white gloves, carefully carried an exquisite box to the front hall under everyone's watchful eyes.

She glanced at the composed William and cursed in her heart, 'This idiot, let's see how he can afford it.'

That sapphire necklace was worth eight million dollars.

Everyone eagerly watched, their eyes fixed on the box in Anouk's hands.

Judging by the packaging, it could be told to be expensive.

'Is the sapphire necklace inside?' Many people sighed inwardly, feeling even more disdain for William.

They thought, 'A useless man living off a woman, why does he have to compete with the heir of the Ramirez family, who owns a jewelry store?'

"Here it comes. Here it comes," Louis said and looked very excited. This was his chance to show off, and he couldn't miss it. It felt great to have such a fool serve as his stepping stone.

Watching Anouk's slight smile, she carefully opened the box under the envious and excited gazes of the crowd, revealing a very dazzling sapphire necklace.

Beautiful!

Grand! Luxurious!

Expensive!

This was the unanimous sentiment of everyone.

Anouk couldn't hide her pride, feeling very prestigious herself. This was the store's most valuable treasure, the sapphire necklace.

Anouk even fantasized about her boyfriend buying this necklace for her and personally putting it on her at their wedding. It would be so romantic.

Everyone was amazed.

Somebody remarked, "Wow, is this the sapphire necklace? It's so beautiful. Wearing it would make me absolutely stunning."

Someone pleaded, "I really want it. I really want it. Honey, buy it for me."

Another retorted, "Buy what? Didn't you see the tag?"

For a moment, the exclamations from the crowd were drowned out by the price of the sapphire necklace.

Over eight million dollars!

For just a necklace, it was too extravagant!

Who could afford it except for the top rich?

No wonder this necklace had never been sold in the store.

Everyone looked at William, and someone sarcastically said, "Didn't you just say you wanted to buy the most expensive one? Now it is out here. Are you going to pay or not?"

Someone mocked, "Buy my ass! Can a loser like him afford it?"

Another chimed in, "This is hilarious. Some people just don't know their limits."

Everyone was furiously cursing William, full of ridicule.

Louis laughed even more happily, his mouth almost reaching his ears. He patted William's shoulder and said, "I brought the necklace out for you. You can't just let it show up and run, right? Otherwise, I would doubt if you really love your wife."

William's face remained calm, without any fluctuation. He just looked at the sapphire in the box.

It was indeed beautiful. Mary would look even more elegant and charming with it on her neck!

He knew Louis was provoking him, so he choose to let him be arrogant for a while longer.

"A loser like him, if he can afford this necklace, I'll shine his shoes. Louis is the rich one. He owns this store. Competing with Louis in wealth is just asking for trouble," the woman beside Louis said glanced at William.

Louis then kissed her. He remarked, "Baby, you have good taste, choosing a boyfriend like me. A loser like him can only live off a woman."

Mary couldn't stand it anymore, stood up, and shouted at them, "What are you talking about? What does it have to do with to you if my husband is rich or not? He buys me whatever he wants; even if it's just worth a few dollars, I'm happy."

William was stunned, looking at Mary, who became angry for the first time, with a smile on his lips and warmth in his heart.

Mary suggested proudly, "Let's go. What a lousy store with its attitude?"

Mary turned around, holding William's arm, and was ready to leave.

Louis, however, jeered, "Idiot! Just say you can't afford it."

Someone remarked, "Hilarious. Look at that guy's face. It's all red, and in the end, he has to rely on his wife to help him."

Another commented, "So damn stupid. How can a guy like this have such a beautiful wife. God must be blind."

Many men felt very sorry for Mary at this moment. Such a beautiful woman, yet was with a loser.

William, from head to toe, exuded an aura of poverty.

Just as everyone was mocking William, he held Mary's hands and smiled gently at her. "Mary, you are my wife, and my wife deserves the most expensive. Buy it. It's not like I can't afford it."

"William, you..." Mary looked at William in a daze. She wanted to say something more, but William interrupted her, "It's okay. Don't worry. It's not like you just met me."

William gently tapped her nose, then turned to Louis and asked, "How much is this sapphire necklace?"

Mary was stunned. She knew William had some money now, but she didn't know how much.

Could it be that William had met with his father in private?

Otherwise, why would William have money now?

"Eight hundred and twenty-three thousand dollars, but I'll give you a discount. Let's say eight hundred thousand dollars," Louis said generously. He didn't believe William could afford it, so what did it matter if he gave a discount?

Everyone was shocked.

That was how rich people sold stuff.

A discount of twenty-three thousand dollars.

However, they didn't pay much attention to that; their focus was entirely on William.

A dozen customers shook their heads secretly. 'This idiot, it's obvious he's being provoked. If he buys it, the jewelry store won't lose anything and will even praise Louis for his business acumen. If he doesn't, Louis can humiliate William harshly.'

No one stopped them; they were all watching the show.

"Wrap it up," William said calmly.

"Alright, Anouk, wrap it up for him. I want to see how he pays, whether he sells his house or what," Louis said with a sinister smile, his sarcasm evident.

Anouk, who had been playing on her phone and live-streaming the scene in a group chat, had to put down her phone and asked, "Mr. Ramirez, should I really wrap it up?"

Louis, with a fake smile, said, "Wrap it up. Maybe his wife can afford it."

While Anouk was carefully wrapping the necklace up, Brandon was also watching the live stream in the group chat, sweating profusely.

'This is a disaster! How did I raise such an idiot! That's Mr. Jones!' Brandon thought and was extremely anxious, constantly urging the driver to hurry to the store.

Louis was too stupid.

If he offended Mr. Jones any further, the Ramirez family could be wiped out from the city.

He would have to teach Louis a good lesson when he got back!

In the store, Anouk finished and looked at William, asking, "How would you like to pay?"

William shrugged and patted his pants pocket.

Hmm?

'Where's my bank card?' William wondered.

"Don't tell me you didn't bring your bank card?" Louis mocked and could barely hold back his laughter.

"Wait a minute," William said as he felt a bit embarrassed and patted his jacket pocket.

Still nothing. 'Damn, I left my wallet at the villa!'

The atmosphere became tense.

Suddenly, a burst of laughter erupted!

"Are you kidding me? You didn't bring your bank card?" Louis said and laughed heartily.

The surrounding customers and store employees also burst into laughter.

What an idiot!

Somebody said, "This is so embarrassing!"

Another chimed in, "Ah, the young man is still too inexperienced, trying to go head-to-head. Now he's in trouble."

One added, "So awkward, I can't even watch it."

A group of people laughed and mocked.

William felt very embarrassed. It was all because he left in such a hurry.

What about now?

Mary stepped forward, shielding William, and shouted at them, "What are you talking about? If you have something to say, say it to me! So what if we can't afford it? My husband's will to buy it for me shows his love for me. I don't care if he's rich or not. It's just a stupid necklace. I don't want it anymore. Let's go home."

"Wait, beautiful, I've already wrapped the sapphire. If you don't pay, aren't you just making fun of me?" Louis said with a nasty look.

"You have the nerve to talk. Your husband was just trying to buy you a gift. I think you're just a bitch," the woman Louis brought along said, crossing her arms.

"What did you say?" Mary was furious.

William couldn't take it anymore. He shielded Mary behind him, his eyes red, and shouted at them, "Enough! Don't insult my wife. I'll go get the money right now!"

Somebody mocked, "Stupid idiot!"

Another jeered, "Yeah, drop the act. No money and still coming to a store?"

One chimed in, "Take a picture of this couple and post it online!"

As everyone was criticizing William and Mary, a car roared up to the store entrance.

The car door opened, and a middle-aged man hurriedly got out, almost losing his shoes in the process.

Seeing William and Mary surrounded by the agitated customers, Brandon felt his heart sink. He thought, 'It's over. It's completely over!'

Brandon didn't even bother to wipe his sweat, rushed into the store, and shouted breathlessly, "Everyone shut the hell up!"
