Chapter 234 Who Bought It?
Brandon's voice was rough, scaring the customers and employees into silence.
Brandon stood in the doorway.
But Brandon's face was now deathly pale, covered in cold sweat. He glanced at the stern-faced William and felt a jolt in his heart.
"Mr. Ramirez," a dozen sales clerks respectfully called out and returned to their posts.
Brandon was notoriously stingy, and he had a knack for docking employees' wages.
If Brandon caught them slacking off now, their salaries for the month would be cut in half.
"Dad, what are you doing here?" Louis asked, unaware of what had happened, walked over with a cheeky grin.
Brandon slapped him hard without hesitation.
Everyone was stunned, not daring to breathe!
What was going on?
Brandon slapped Louis as soon as he arrived. What was going on?
Louis was also stunned, covering his rapidly swelling cheek, and roared, "Dad, are you crazy? Why did you hit me?"
Brandon scolded angrily, "Crazy? You little bastard, always causing trouble for me!"
Brandon was furious to the point of explosion. If it weren't for the fact that Louis was his son, he would have felt like chopping him up. He ordered, "Do you know what you've done? Hurry up and apologize to this gentleman!"
"Apologize? To him?" Louis was completely dumbfounded, pointed at William and raised his voice. "Dad, are you out of your mind? You want me to apologize to an idiot?"
"You are pissing me off! I swear I'll beat you to death today," Brandon said impatiently, and was about to slap him again, but Anouk stopped him.
Anouk had a close relationship with Brandon and had been in and out of hotels with him multiple times. It was their secret.
"Mr. Ramirez, please calm down. Mr. Louis Ramirez didn't do anything wrong," Anouk said anxiously.
"Didn't do anything wrong? He's driving me crazy," Brandon shouted and stopped scolding Louis. He quickly bent over, smiling apologetically at William, and said, "Sir, I'm really sorry. Louis is just a kid. Please don't hold it against him. I apologize on his behalf."
"Dad! Why are you apologizing to him?" Louis couldn't believe it. Brandon was actually apologizing to William. He remarked arrogantly, "He came to our store to buy the most valuable necklace in the store but turned out that he couldn't afford it. We're already being nice by not calling the police."
"Shut up!" Brandon scolded. He was so angry to the point that his lungs hurt. His whole body trembled with rage, and cold sweat poured down in waves.
"Mr. Brandon Ramirez, your son has quite a temper. He said I couldn't afford your necklace," at this moment, William spoke in a calm tone, his voice like a cold blade stabbing into Brandon's heart.
William recognized Brandon. He had a good memory and seemed to recall that he was from the Ramirez family.
What a coincidence! This store belonged to the Ramirez family.
Brandon suddenly got to his knees.
Yes, he knelt before William.
In front of everyone, he knelt down to William, wiping the cold sweat from his forehead, his hands trembling uncontrollably.
"Dad!" Louis exclaimed, "What are you doing?!"
Brandon glared at Louis but didn't respond to him.
Brandon pleaded, "Mr. Jones, it's all my fault. I apologize on behalf of Louis."
Brandon said urgently, quickly asking Anouk to bring over the sapphire necklace. "Consider this necklace a gift to this beautiful lady as an apology."
"Mr. Ramirez, this isn't your fault. I don't want your apology," William said while he remained calm throughout the ordeal.
Now, anyone could see that William was someone extraordinary. He was definitely not just a simple loser.
Those customers who had mocked him earlier were now silent.
Even Brandon was so scared by William's words that he knelt down!
Brandon's face changed, and he immediately understood. He got up, walked over to Louis, and pressed his head down. He commanded, "Kneel!"
Louis was stubborn and refused to kneel. He shouted, "If you want to kneel, you do it. I don't know what's gotten into you. He's just a pauper. I can't bear this shame! Our family can't bear this shame!"
Brandon was anxious, and his anger exploded. He shouted at Louis, "What do you know? Do you know who he is? Do you know who made the Ramirez family second-rate?"
Louis was stunned. Then as if something dawned on him, he looked at William in disbelief, his eyes wide open.
Louis exclaimed, "That's impossible, Dad. You're lying to me! How could he be that man..."
Louis was dumbfounded, instantly recalling the taboo legend of the Ramirez family!
Terrifying! Horrifying!
"Kneel!" Brandon repeated. He didn't care, pressing Louis's neck and forcing him to kneel.
Brandon said earnestly, "Mr. Jones, Louis is apologizing to you. Please forgive him. This necklace, no, anything in the store, you can choose and take as you like. Consider it a token of my goodwill."
Brandon was very sincere.
This scene completely shocked the customers and sales clerks in the store.
Brandon actually apologized like this.
Especially Anouk, whose eyes were wide open in shock, almost unable to breathe.
William looked around and found that everyone had their heads down, not daring to meet his gaze.
He looked at the dejected Louis on the ground and said coldly, "I pay for what I buy. I told you I can afford it. Why didn't you believe me?"
Then, he looked at Brandon and said with a faint smile, "Mr. Ramirez, I left my card at home today. I'll send the payment tomorrow. I think I can take the item now."
"Of course, Mr. Jones. I'll give it to you. You don't have to pay," Brandon said, wiping his sweat.
"Are you looking down on me?" William said coldly.
Brandon was stunned, and then quickly shook his head, saying, "No, no, no, I wouldn't. Since you said so, I'll personally come to you tomorrow. You don't need to send anyone."
"That works," William said.
Soon, William left the jewelry store with the box and Mary.
Inside the store, everyone finally breathed a sigh of relief, watching William's departing figure with mixed emotions.
It was too shocking!
The necklace was just given away?
Who was that man?
Brandon finally relaxed, collapsed at the door and continuously wiped his sweat.
After catching his breath, he remembered Louis and scolded him, "Go back to Imperial City tomorrow and You're grounded. If you dare to go out, I'll break your legs!"
Louis got to his feet angrily and glanced at the departing William, then glared at Brandon before leaving the branch store in shame and anger.
He was actually that Mr. Jones!
How could it be?
Why was he in Lindwood City?
Outside, Mary was still in a daze. She grabbed William, who was about to drive, and asked suspiciously, "William, tell me, do you know that Brandon?"
She was increasingly unable to understand William. Was his family really just running a restaurant?
Why would the owner of a jewelry store kneel to William upon seeing him?
Did they know each other before?
William opened the car door and said, "Oh, you mean Brandon? I guess I know him. He owes me money."
"Really? How much?" Mary was even more suspicious.
"Not much. Let's talk about it when we get back," William said as he grinned and got into the car with Mary.
Back at the villa, Margaret had been pondering all day, especially about who William actually was. She couldn't stop thinking about it.
No, no, she couldn't let it go. Her position in the family was seriously threatened.
The more Margaret thought about it, the angrier she became.
On one hand, she was afraid of William; on the other, she was worried about losing her voice in the family.
If the villa had her name on it, everything would be easier.
If Mary no longer sided with William and even resented him, it would be a win-win situation.
Margaret asked, "Tyler, do you think this villa was bought with Mary's money? Why does William have that attitude towards me?"
Margaret sat angrily on the sofa, venting to Tyler, who was playing with his calligraphy.
Tyler replied, annoyed, "Oh, come on, what are you thinking about all day? Have you forgotten what happened with Mary last time? Hadn't William warned you?"
Tyler, wearing reading glasses, glared at Margaret.
Margaret pouted, clearly unhappy, and muttered, "I know we can't mess with William now, but it bugs me. Why should a loser suddenly be above us? I don't accept it!"
Tyler ignored her. Margaret always caused trouble when she was bored.
She would suffer sooner or later.
Margaret thought for a moment, grabbed her bag, and left the house.
She went to the sales management center of the upscale residential area.
As soon as she entered, a polite and pretty woman greeted her with a smile, "Hello, how can I help you?"
"Oh, I live in Villa No.1. I came to inquire about some things," Margaret said with a smile.
As soon as she said this, all the service staff in the sales center turned their attention to her, respectfully lining up in two rows and bowing. They greeted, "Welcome."
Margaret was startled but immediately felt elated, especially since many customers browsing for villas looked at Margaret with envy.
This made Margaret even more proud, her arrogance evident in every strand of her hair.
After a while, the manager of the upscale residential area personally came to greet her. She was a short woman, speaking gently, and asked with a smile, "Hello, what would you like to inquire about?"
Margaret asked, "Oh, nothing major. I just wanted to ask, was Villa No.1 bought with Mary's money?"
Margaret's face was full of arrogance.
