Chapter 446 The Gonzales Family is Doomed
"Really?" William froze for a moment, then shot back with a smirk, "Are you seriously talking to me about punishment? If that's the case, your nephew should've been locked up ages ago. You sure you wanna go there with me?"
Thelonious frowned and snapped, "That's none of your business. But now that you've hit him, you gotta face the consequences."
Thelonious knew Lazlo had messed up, but family was family, and he had to stand up for his nephew!
William shook his head. "You definitely know whose fault this is. You're just trying to protect your family’s name or get something out of us. Why not just be straight about it?"
Thelonious's eyes turned icy, and he said in a low voice, "What my nephew does is none of your concern. Just take your punishment."
William shrugged. "Looks like you haven't learned your lesson! You're asking for trouble!"
Mary stood by William, watching everything unfold, her eyes growing colder by the second.
Just then, the door to the private room swung open, and four big guys walked in.
One of them stepped up to William and said seriously, "Come with us. You've pissed off the Gonzales family. You can't just walk away from this."
William turned to Thelonious, sneering, "Mr. Gonzales, your tactics are pretty lame."
Thelonious finally cracked a small smile, took a sip of his wine, and said, "I don't think so. Sometimes, the simplest methods work best."
"You know the truth better than anyone, but you're doing this for your nephew. Don't you regret it?" William asked coldly.
Thelonious stayed silent, thinking, 'How dare William still talk tough? Doesn't he know how powerful the Gonzales family is?'
The bodyguard behind William seemed to lose patience. He grabbed William's shoulder and said, "Get up and come with us."
Despite his words, the bodyguard signaled his men to drag William away.
A sharp look flashed in William's eyes. "Who do you think you are? You have no right to arrest me!"
The lead bodyguard, Zander, laughed coldly. "Just come with us. You'll explain everything then."
William crossed his arms, his eyes flashing coldly. "Are you with the Gonzales family?"
Thelonious sat at the head of the table, looking at William with a cold smile. He thought, 'He's on the brink and still doesn't get it!'
Zander's face showed a hint of anger, then he laughed coldly. "Yeah, we're with the Gonzales family. So what? You scared?"
"What's your name?" William asked coldly.
"Zander. Sue me!" Zander shouted.
"Zander," William repeated, a cold glint in his eyes.
"Let's go!" Zander ordered.
William shook his head. "Why are you arresting me?"
"Stop asking questions!" Zander snapped. "When you get there, you'll confess everything!"
Thelonious smiled slightly. He didn't think William had any tricks left. With the evidence and injury report he submitted, William could be looking at over ten years in prison!
Mary stepped forward, stopping right in front of Zander. She frowned and asked coldly, "Who are you? Why are you taking him?"
Zander glanced at Mary, a flicker of interest in his eyes, but then he smirked. "We're with the Gonzales family. What are you gonna do about it?"
"Really?" Mary shot back. "Just because you're with the Gonzales family, you think you can ignore the law?"
She was about to say more when she saw William calmly take off his coat and smile at her. "Relax, it's okay. Wait outside for my good news."
Mary hesitated but nodded.
"Besides, I've got someone looking out for you. Don't worry," William reassured her with a smile.
Looking into his serious eyes, Mary still felt uneasy. "What about you?"
William smiled. "Don't worry, I have my ways."
Mary's face gradually relaxed. She knew she had to prepare for the worst. If something really happened to William, she couldn't just stand by and watch.
Zander looked at William and sneered, "This is the first time I've heard someone so cocky!"
As a top enforcer for the Gonzales family, he'd seen plenty of people crumble. Once you crossed the Gonzales family, you were done for at least a decade!
William looked at Zander and smiled. "Since you want to take me, let's go. Just hope you won't regret it."
He then turned his smile to Thelonious.
Zander said, "You seem a bit clueless. But you need to know, there are some things you can't afford!"
William's eyes turned cold. "Are you warning me? Or are you implying I've crossed someone I shouldn't have?"
William knew his situation. He said this to put Thelonious in a tough spot.
Zander said, "Yes, I'm warning you! But any implications you think of are your own imagination. The Gonzales family doesn't need a reason because we're the law!"
After speaking, Zander patted William's shoulder, showing a chilling smile. "Let's go!"
He then turned to Thelonious, who nodded slightly.
"I didn't expect the Gonzales family to dig their own grave," William declared, watching their reactions.
He laughed and got up to leave.
Before leaving, he turned to Thelonious and said seriously, "Mr. Gonzales, there's something I don't know if it's appropriate to say now."
Thelonious, feeling triumphant, said, "Go ahead."
"The Gonzales family is not far from destruction," William said slowly.
Thelonious frowned. "What do you mean?"
"You'll understand soon," William said confidently.
"What are you waiting for? Take him away!" Zander barked at his men.
Seeing Zander's anger, the others hurried to grab William, but William suddenly turned, his cold eyes flashing sharply.
Seeing this, Zander frowned. He'd never seen such terrifying eyes and was momentarily stunned. After a pause, he shouted, "Take him away!"
This time, William didn't resist and let them lead him out of the private room.
William squinted slightly, a slight smile on his face as he looked at Zander. "Do you know Isaiah?"
