Chapter 288 Who Are You Really?
The entire room was filled with a pungent smell of urine mixed with the spicy scent of chili powder.
Quinlan was so terrified that he fainted on the spot!
William looked helplessly at Abigail and shrugged, indicating that Quinlan was too easily scared. He then dragged Quinlan to the kitchen and doused him with a basin of water to wake him.
The moment Quinlan opened his eyes and saw William, he was utterly petrified, trembling while shouting for help!
Tears filled his eyes, and he shouted until his voice was hoarse!
"How about now? Feeling more awake? Let's have a good talk about compensation next," William said with a mocking smile.
Compensation?
Quinlan was so moved that he almost wanted to cry. He thought, 'I should be the one compensating! So, he is just a coward trying to buy me off with money. 'Quinlan started calculating in his mind. With two broken legs, it should be at least two or three million dollars, right? Plus, his physical and emotional trauma, five million dollars wouldn't be too much!
With his uncle being a cop, Quinlan wasn't afraid William might refuse to pay!
However, William's next words stunned Quinlan, leaving him miserable and desperate.
He grabbed Quinlan's hair and said coldly, "I heard from Abigail that you asked her for money before, right? I think that's very bad, not something a man should do."
He turned to Abigail and asked, "How much did he ask you for?"
Abigail, fiddling with her fingers, stammered, "Not much. Just a few times when he lost at gambling, around three or four hundred thousand dollars."
Three or four hundred thousand dollars was not much!
William realized Abigail was too kind-hearted, allowing her ex-boyfriend to take advantage without resistance.
His face darkened, and he slapped Quinlan hard, making him spit out a mouthful of blood. He said coldly, "One million dollars! That's your compensation to Abigail. If you think it's fair, nod your head. If not, shake your head, and we'll discuss it further."
One million dollars!
What a joke! Quinlan thought William was compensating him, but from William's tone, it was him compensating Abigail!
"You don't agree?" William asked.
Seeing Quinlan shake his head, William didn't say much and slapped him a few more times, knocking out two of his front teeth!
This left Quinlan completely dazed. Coughing and begging for mercy, he said, "I'll pay! I'll give everything, Just please stop hitting me."
"That's more like it. If you had agreed earlier, I wouldn't have hurt my hand," William said with a sly smile.
Quinlan regretted it deeply. He never expected that he would end up in such a situation tonight just because he drunkenly tried to flirt with Abigail. Not only did he get his legs broken, but he also had to pay one million dollars!
Abigail was also shocked. She didn't expect William to demand one million dollars for her!
Although she worked at BK Pharmaceuticals with a pretty high salary, earning two or three hundred thousand dollars a year, an extra one million dollars out of nowhere was still a big surprise.
She wanted to say no, but seeing William's expression, she chose to comply.
William demanded, "Transfer one million dollars to Abigail's account right now."
Then he grabbed Quinlan by the collar, lifted him off the ground, and said fiercely, "Don't try any tricks. Once the transfer is done, you can get out of here!"
"Hurry up! Stop dawdling, or I'll break your dick!" William shouted.
Quinlan immediately logged into his mobile banking and transferred one million dollars to Abigail's account!
"Alright, you can leave now. If I see you again, I'll kill you," William said coldly, exuding an invincible aura and intense killing intent. This bone-chilling killing intent completely extinguished any thoughts of revenge Quinlan had!
He looked at William in fear, then lowered his head. An overwhelming sense of unease and terror enveloped his entire being, unlike anything he had ever experienced.
At that moment, Quinlan even felt as if the Grim Reaper was approaching him!
"Okay, I'll never show up again. I'm leaving now," Quinlan hurriedly said.
Under the watchful eyes of William and Abigail, Quinlan crawled out of the house!
Yes, he crawled because his legs were already broken!
After Quinlan disappeared from the doorway, William lazily lay down on the sofa.
Abigail was still in a state of shock.
Suddenly having an extra one million dollars in her account and severely punishing that scumbag Quinlan, Abigail felt everything was too surreal and took a long time to come to her senses.
"Will this cause unnecessary trouble? After all, his uncle is a cop. I'm worried he might retaliate against you," Abigail said, frowning and pouting, looking hesitant and very cute.
"Retaliate?"
William chuckled and said, "He wants to retaliate against me? Even if his uncle is a cop, it wouldn't matter."
William wasn't afraid at all.
"Alright, you don't need to worry too much. If anything happens, just come to me. In the future, stay away from scumbags like him. I don't know what you were thinking, getting involved with a guy like that," William muttered.
Abigail's cheeks turned red, and she mumbled, "When I first came to Lindwood City, I didn't know many people. I met him and decided to give it a try. Later, I realized he wasn't a good person, so I broke up with him."
William glanced at the time and said, "It's getting late. I should head back."
"Won't you stay a bit longer?" Abigail asked, her eyes suddenly red. Boldly grabbing William's arm, she looked pitiful, saying, "I'm scared. I'm afraid Quinlan might come back with more people."
William looked down at Abigail's hand on his arm, slowly loosened it, and said with a smile, "Don't worry. Quinlan is all bark and no bite. If he dares to come back, just call me."
After a brief chat with Abigail, William took his leave.
This place wasn't suitable for a prolonged stay, especially with just him and Abigail.
William was still cautious.
Abigail didn't insist and walked William downstairs.
William waved goodbye. Hands in his pockets, he hummed a tune as he left, looking very carefree.
In Abigail's eyes, William's back seemed exceptionally tall. Perhaps William was the kind of man she had been expecting.
Tonight was destined to be a sleepless night for her.
When Abigail returned to her apartment, she suddenly found three men inside!
Leading them was Jeffery, dressed in an expensive suit, sitting on the sofa with a cold expression.
Behind him stood two burly bodyguards.
"Abigail, why didn't you keep William here!" Jeffery suddenly asked coldly, his eyes burning with anger.
Abigail quickly bowed and apologized, "Mr. Gray, I'm sorry. I think William is a good person, and Mary has been very kind to me. I don't want to do this anymore."
Jeffery suddenly stood up from the sofa and slapped Abigail hard, causing blood to trickle from the corner of her mouth.
Jeffery roared, "Abigail, remember, you are a weapon trained by EnchantFloral Guild. You're meant to seduce men. You have no right to defy me! You do what I tell you to do! Understand?"
Abigail bit her lip, her eyes filled with tears.
"Answer me!" Jeffery shouted.
Suddenly, he grabbed Abigail's delicate chin, gritting his teeth.
"I understand," Abigail mumbled, her eyes already wet, her mouth bleeding.
Yes, she was a weapon trained by the organization, without dignity, destined to seduce men until she was no longer useful.
Jeffery snorted coldly, his eyes lingering on Abigail's body. Indeed, Abigail had a great figure.
Jeffery threatened, "I'll give you one more chance. No matter what it takes, get William into your bed. If you miss this chance, you'll go back and face the consequences yourself!"
He added coldly, "You should understand, I brought you out of EnchantFloral Guild. If you get sent back, you know better than I do what the consequences will be!"
Abigail weakly nodded.
"Everyone out!" Jeffery ordered. Then he sat back on the sofa, sneering at Abigail and saying, "Crawl over here and serve me!"
Abigail didn't resist at all. Like a puppy, she slowly knelt on the ground and crawled over to Jeffery.
Minutes later, her head bobbed behind the coffee table as Jeffery enjoyed her service with his eyes closed.
Soon, the room was filled with the sound of rippling moans.
Meanwhile, William had returned to the villa. As soon as he walked in, he saw Mary sitting on the living room sofa, seemingly waiting for him.
"Not sleeping yet?" William asked.
Seeing William, Mary immediately stood up, pulled him upstairs into the bedroom, locked the door, and sat on the bed, staring intently at William. "Honey, I have a question for you. You can't lie to me. You have to answer truthfully."
William felt a bit nervous seeing Mary like this and asked, "What question? Why so serious?"
"Honey, how did you meet Bennett? He's a stock market genius! He actually invested thirty billion dollars in our company!" Mary informed.
She hadn't realized it during the day, but the more she thought about it at home, the more it didn't add up. She pulled William aside, seriously asking, "Who exactly are you? Are you really just the young master of the Jones Group from Imperial City?"
Seeing Mary staring at him intently, William felt a bit panicked.
Could it be that Mary was starting to suspect him?
