Chapter 316 "Hit My Man, and I'll Beat You to Death!"

William was seething with anger, his face darkening.

Margaret had never learned her lesson and dared to treat Sarah like that again.

When Margaret saw William storming in from the doorway, she was flustered. William's icy expression reminded her of the night she had been beaten in the living room.

'Damn it, how could it be such a coincidence?' Margaret cursed in her mind.

"Uh, William, let me explain..." she said with an awkward smile.

However, before she could finish, William rushed over, swung his hand, and slapped her angrily in the face!

The slap echoed loudly in the living room.

Margaret's friends all jumped up from the sofa, scared and huddled to one side.

They were all stunned. Wasn't William supposed to be a wimp? How dare he hit Margaret?

One of the middle-aged women, who was trying to curry favor with Margaret, stood up and pointed at William, scolding him arrogantly, "What are you doing? How could you hit Margaret? That's so rude! You have no manners!"

But William just shot a cold glance at her and said in a chilling voice, "Get out! I don't care how much you try to impress her, but remember, this is my place. Whether you stay here or not is my call!"

'William is so arrogant and presumptuous!' these women thought.

A woman mocked, "Wow, unbelievable! I can't believe a freeloader would dare to be so arrogant. This is Margaret's house. Who do you think you are to tell us to get out?"

Another woman echoed, "Exactly, you're just a useless man living off your wife, and you dared to hit your mother-in-law. We should expose you!"

Someone remarked, "Margaret, say something. We'll deal with him for you. He's being too arrogant!"

Suddenly, they became agitated, pointing at William and cursing him in various ways.

Mary had already rushed in by this time, holding Sarah and standing to the side, comforting her.

At the same time, she glared angrily at Margaret and scolded, "Mom, you're too much. This is the second time I've seen this!"

Margaret was furious, especially after William had slapped her, humiliating her in front of her friends.

Given her temper, it would be strange if she didn't make a scene!

Sure enough, Margaret immediately tore off her facade, scratching at William and scolding, "William, you've gone too far! How dare you hit me? I'm your mother-in-law! You bastard, how dare you hit me?! Get out of my house!"

She began to shout and curse. Her friends, seeing this, seemed to be on a high, rushing over to help Margaret push and insult William in various ways.

William was filled with anger, but he didn't dare to fight back against the group of middle-aged women. If he injured them, he would be the one in trouble.

When middle-aged women threw tantrums, they seemed as unruly as rogues and ruffians.

So, William could only defend himself passively by retreating.

A woman shouted, "Hit him! Beat this bastard! How dare he hit his mother-in-law!"

Another woman echoed, "Yeah, let's teach him a lesson for Margaret today!"

Five or six middle-aged women rolled up their sleeves and started to hit William, pulling his hair, slapping his arms, and kicking his legs.

Mary was furious when she saw that.

Just then, Lucy came back. Mary handed Sarah to Lucy and then walked angrily toward the group of chattering middle-aged women.

"Stop it!" Mary shouted sternly.

Suddenly, the group of middle-aged women stopped and looked at Mary in confusion.

Someone asked, "Mary, your husband hit your mom. Aren't you going to help?"

However, Mary pulled William behind her, rolled up her sleeves, and faced the group of middle-aged women herself.

It looked like she was ready for a fight.

However, in the next second, Mary suddenly slapped the woman who had just questioned her, then pointed at her nose and scolded, "How dare you hit my man? I'll slap you to death!"

Mary's slap silenced the middle-aged women, causing them to shrink back in fear.

Hadn't Margaret said Mary didn't like William and was planning to divorce him?

What was going on now?

Suddenly, Mary turned to another woman, her eyes cold as she questioned, "And you, did you hit my man just now?"

The woman immediately shrank back, blushing, and mumbled, "No... no."

"Get out! All of you, get out!" Mary shouted.

Suddenly, the women hurriedly grabbed their bags and fled the living room in a panic, like startled animals.

As they left, they didn't forget to say a polite lie to Margaret. "Margaret, we'll come back to visit you next time."

Soon, only a red-faced Margaret, William and Mary were left in the living room. Lucy, holding Sarah, went upstairs.

Mary held her forehead, looking at Margaret with utter disappointment.

"Mom, I've really had enough of you. You're a retired college professor, why are you acting so unreasonable now?" Mary asked helplessly.

Margaret was fuming and decided to throw a tantrum. "Well, you've grown some guts now, daring to talk to me like that!"

Margaret was very angry that Mary was defending William so much.

She just didn't like William. Even if he did have some money now, she couldn't bring herself to like him.

"Mom, can you stop being unreasonable? You know William bought this villa, but you're still treating him like this. What do you want me to do?" Mary was almost in tears.

Margaret lost her confidence when she heard that.

William had indeed bought the villa.

Mary said, "Mom, apologize to him."

"Bullshit! Why should I apologize to him? Since when does a mother-in-law apologize to her son-in-law?" Margaret snapped back.

Mary glanced at William. In the past, she had always asked William to tolerate Margaret because she was her mother. But now it was different. Mary knew William was not an ordinary man, and if Margaret continued to act recklessly, the consequences would be dire.

"If you don't apologize, I'll find a new place for you and Dad to live tomorrow. You can move out," Mary said coldly.

Mary's words completely silenced Margaret.

She looked at Mary in disbelief, feeling utterly betrayed.

She had never thought that one day, her daughter would stand against her.

"Mary, do you really want me to apologize to him?" Margaret asked through gritted teeth.

Mary shook her head. Margaret had gone too far this time, hitting Sarah again. Sarah was her daughter, and she wouldn't allow anyone to bully her, not even Margaret!

"Mom, this is your fault," Mary said.

Despite her anger, Margaret knew she couldn't leave the villa. So, she could only grit her teeth and say, "I'm sorry."

It was very perfunctory.

But William didn't bother to argue with her anymore.

It was mainly because he was quite happy that Mary had defended him.

Upstairs, after checking on Sarah and comforting her a bit, William pulled Mary back to the master bedroom and asked, "Aren't you afraid your mom will hold a grudge against you for doing this?"

Mary smiled, raising her hand to take off her suit dress, her graceful figure making William's eyes burn with desire.

"You're my husband, the person I can rely on in the future. Besides, my mom did go too far. If you want them to move out, I have no objections," Mary replied.

Wearing a lace nightgown, she walked over, leaned on William's shoulder, and hugged his waist.

William didn't say anything, enjoying the moment of tenderness.

"No need for that. She can stay here," William said, and then they looked at each other, their eyes filled with passion.

They kissed.

However, there was no next step as Mary was pregnant.

Margaret was very angry as she sat alone in the living room, her mind racing. Then she went to the bedroom, opened a drawer, and took out a small packet from a box inside. She then returned to the kitchen.

She brewed two cups of coffee and brought them upstairs.

Margaret felt very aggrieved, so much so that she made a final decision.

After all, it wasn't poison; it wouldn't kill anyone.

Besides, if William drank it, what did it have to do with her?

As Margaret thought that, she walked to the master bedroom door, gently knocked, and asked in a low voice, "Mary, William, can I come in?"

"Come in," Mary replied.

Margaret pushed open the door, walked in with a smile, and said, "William, Mary, what I did earlier was wrong. I made you some coffee, please drink it."

Saying that, Margaret placed the two cups of coffee on the coffee table, pushing one toward Mary and the drugged one towards William.

"Alright, Mom, just leave it there," Mary said.

Margaret responded and slowly walked out of the room.

Meanwhile, Mary and William were both blushing. William was sitting on the sofa, pretending to read a magazine, since he had almost been caught by Margaret while being intimate with Mary.

"I'm going to take a shower. It's too hot," Mary said awkwardly, getting up and walking toward the bathroom with her long legs.

William leaned back on the sofa, closing his eyes to rest.

At this moment, he suddenly received a call from George.

"Hello, George, did you find it?" William asked as he took the phone and walked out of the master bedroom.

Ten minutes later, Mary came out of the bathroom, wrapped in a bathrobe, drying her hair, looking stunning with a slightly rounded belly.

She sat cross-legged on the sofa, glanced at the coffee on the table, picked up the cup meant for William, and lifted it to her lips, ready to drink it.
