Chapter 394 The Truth About William's Identity

Mary shivered, feeling a sudden chill run down her spine.

The lab's security system was top-notch, built by pros. But even that was nothing against those people.

"Wait, did you just say they can change their faces?" Mary asked, her voice shaky.

Remembering what William had said, she felt a cold sweat break out on her back.

"Yeah, if I'm right," William replied, a cold glint in his eyes. He walked over to Ghosthawk, looking serious, and then ripped off his face.

Mary gasped, covering her mouth in horror as she saw William holding a human face mask!

It was like something out of a horror movie. Mary quickly shut her eyes, her body trembling. Even though she was brave, this was too much.

William was holding a human face mask — no, a real human face, torn off and stuck onto Ghosthawk with some high-tech gadget.

This was straight out of a sci-fi flick. If William hadn't guessed it, he wouldn't have found out.

That face probably belonged to the missing researcher.

William's face darkened as he said, "This explains everything. The two researchers you hired are probably dead."

Mary had never seen anything so crazy. She opened her eyes and saw the human face mask in William's hand, her body shaking with disgust and fear.

Seeing how scared Mary was, William tossed the mask into the trash and stood up. "The people behind this are no joke."

Who could it be?

They went to such lengths, using this kind of tech.

Mary didn't want to keep watching, but she had insisted on coming. William had tried to stop her, so leaving now would be embarrassing.

She had seen it all. After William tore off that face, the corpse on the ground had a sinister face with a scar.

Was this the real face of the killer?

He looked terrifying!

"I was right," William said, walking over to Mary. Seeing her trembling, he asked, "You okay?"

Mary insisted, "I'm fine."

"Don't worry. I'll find out who's behind this and make them pay. No matter what dangers lie ahead," William declared, supporting Mary and smiling, "nothing will happen with me here."

Mary's eyes lit up, and her fear vanished.

Looking at William, who was sometimes sloppy but always reliable, she felt safe.

William gave Mary a gentle look, patted her shoulder, and said, "Leave the rest to me. You should go out now; you don't need to see this."

This time, Mary didn't argue. She just nodded and walked out.

She really needed a break. Today's events had been a huge shock, and she needed to process it all.

Before leaving, she said, "Come to the office when you're done."

William smiled and nodded, then closed the door and walked over to the unconscious Viperstrike, tearing off the human skin on his face.

It was clear the two researchers were already dead.

William shook his head silently. He had never done an interrogation before, and he helplessly kicked Viperstrike a few times.

After a few kicks, Viperstrike woke up, the pain in his knees and shoulders making him gasp.

As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw William's smiling face and immediately tried to defend himself. But moving pulled at his wounds, causing blood to gush out.

"Don't move. Otherwise, you'll bleed out faster," William said with a grin.

Viperstrike's knee was shattered, his hand pierced by a dagger, and his shoulder blade severed.

He was completely incapacitated.

Viperstrike let out a bitter laugh, lowered his hands, and slumped to the ground, looking at William.

He knew he couldn't leave here alive; the William in front of him was a devil.

But what about Ghosthawk?

Did he manage to snag the experimental data?

This job was worth fifty million bucks.

William seemed to read his mind and sneered, "Worried about your buddy? Too bad! He's already dead."

Viperstrike's face was full of disbelief, and his body tensed up.

He turned his head and saw Ghosthawk lying in a pool of blood.

And he had already shown his true face.

A trace of panic flashed across Viperstrike's face. He hurriedly touched his own cheek, then slumped to the ground like a deflated balloon, letting out a bitter laugh.

Their disguised tech was so advanced it could fetch a fortune on the black market. No way regular folks could figure it out.

But clearly, William had cracked their secret.

Viperstrike had lost the will to fight. He thought back to William's terrifying fighting skills, which only someone with special training would have.

A small company like BK Pharmaceuticals actually had someone like this.

Viperstrike prided himself on his assassination skills; he was one of the best in their organization. Yet, against William, he felt like a chick facing an eagle, utterly defeated.

If William were in the organization, his abilities would make him a leader, possibly even more terrifying than the current one.

Viperstrike couldn't hide the terror in his heart.

Before the mission, the employer had mentioned that BK Pharmaceuticals had a troublesome guy. They didn't believe it or take it seriously.

But today, they had failed, encountering such a formidable opponent.

William stared at Viperstrike and asked, "I'll give you a chance. Tell me everything."

If Viperstrike chose to stay silent or resist, William wouldn't mind using some brutal methods. After all, he wasn't planning to let him live anyway.

Viperstrike was silent, then endured the severe pain in his body and the fear in his heart, asking, "If I tell you everything, can you let me live?"

As he said this, he glanced at the doorway.

In the corner of the doorway, there was a figure hidden in the shadows.

But that figure seemed to be protecting William.

That figure was incredibly strong, even stronger than William, who was interrogating him.

"Are you bargaining with me?" William said coldly, his eyes suddenly flashing with a cold light, making Viperstrike shiver and swallow involuntarily.

Viperstrike hesitated for a moment, then reluctantly agreed, "Ask away, I'll tell you everything I know." He didn't dare to gamble; he didn't know what William or the figure in the corner would do to him.

Viperstrike hoped that his honest confession would make William show mercy.

However, he was wrong. William had never intended to let him go from the beginning.

William thought for a moment and asked, "Who are you? Or rather, where are you from?"

"We are from the Phantom Assassin Agency, a large assassin organization spread across the country," Viperstrike said, trying to use the Phantom Assassin Agency to intimidate William. However, to his surprise, William had no reaction at all and looked at him as if he was an idiot.

Meanwhile, Jeffery was sitting across from Mary in her office.

"Mary, believe me, William is not as simple as you think!" Jeffery said anxiously. "Do you know who he is? Have you met his parents? Do you know where his home is?"

Mary furrowed her brows and asked, "What exactly are you trying to say?"

Jeffery slammed the documents he had brought with him in front of Mary and said, "Look, these are all about William. You can't imagine how long he's been deceiving you!"

Stunned, Mary opened the documents, becoming more and more shocked as she read.

"He's not the young master of the Jones Group from Imperial City at all. His real identity is actually..." Jeffery said coldly, his eyes burning with anger, and a cold smile on his lips.

'William, I've finally uncovered your identity!' Jeffery thought smugly.
