Chapter 338 William Goes to the Imperial City!
Mary looked at William in confusion, completely clueless about what he was saying.
"Honey, what do you mean by 'your identity'?" Mary asked, a bit bewildered. Given William's confident demeanor, she didn't think he was lying.
'Could it be that William is about to reveal his true identity to me?' she thought.
William affectionately patted her on the head and smiled gently, saying, "Mary, don't worry. Leave the upcoming matters to me. You go get ready for the press conference on behalf of BK Pharmaceuticals. We'll have new funds and investors coming in soon."
New investors? Who? Mary grew even more puzzled. She stared at William in astonishment, then burst into laughter. "Is it that friend of yours returning from abroad?"
William was taken aback. After a brief consideration, he said, "Sort of. You go ahead and prepare. The press conference will be tomorrow night. Invite all the major media outlets and relevant entrepreneurs, including Evander. I'll give you a surprise then."
A surprise? Mary looked at William suspiciously. For some reason, she felt that William was hiding something.
William nodded and said, "I'm here. Don't worry. Go and prepare well. After this is over, I won't let you work anymore. Just focus on taking care of the baby."
Hearing this, Mary smiled charmingly and playfully punched William's chest, "Do you want me to be a full-time housewife?"
William shrugged, holding Mary by her slender waist. Despite being nearly two months pregnant, her figure was still so good.
"Not a bad idea. From now on, I'll take care of the family, and you just need to stay beautiful," William said with a grin, holding Mary as they sat on the living room couch.
Mary leaned on William's shoulder, squinting her eyes and imagining the future. She smiled and said, "Honey, do you think it will be a boy or a girl?"
Actually, she wanted to give William a son.
William gently tapped her nose and replied, "Whether it's a boy or a girl, it's still our child."
Mary smiled happily, hugging William's waist and leaning into his arms, feeling the warmth. She pouted and said with a smile, "Honey, it's so good to have you."
William held Mary and gently kissed her forehead, "Because I love you."
The two of them enjoyed their rare alone time.
Before long, Lucy came back with Sarah.
Sarah ran into William's arms, being lifted high, and giggled. "Daddy, today Lucy took me to see the pigeons, and we had cotton candy, and we rode the carousel," Sarah said happily, her eyes twinkling with joy.
Mary also lovingly played little games with Sarah.
Not long after, Alan also arrived at the villa, standing respectfully at the door and nodding towards the people in the living room.
"Mr. Jones, everything is ready," Alan reported respectfully, with two men in black suits behind him.
William nodded, glanced at Mary, patted Sarah's head, and stood up. "I need to go to Imperial City. Elbert will help you with some matters in Lindwood City. Prepare for the press conference, and I'll be back tomorrow night."
Imperial City? Mary was puzzled.
"Are you going home? Did something happen at home?" she asked worriedly, holding William's hand with eyes full of concern.
William gently patted her hand and said, "Don't worry. I'll be back soon."
With that, he left the villa. Before leaving, he arranged for some people to protect the villa.
He had no choice. He was very worried about Mary and Sarah's safety while he was not in Lindwood City.
The assassin crisis this morning was a wake-up call for him.
What was William going to do in Imperial City?
William got into the car. Inside the car was Benjamin, who said calmly, "The assassins were sent by the Henderson family. The leader behind them is Drexel Yardley, a long-active assassin force from Sakuradia. They are quite powerful, with seventy-two members spread across major cities in the country, each with their own branch. Their headquarters is in Imperial City."
William listened quietly, a cold smile appearing on his face as he said, "It seems they've forgotten the lesson from back then. Fine, this time I'll crush their claws in the country."
Trying to kill his wife, which was absolutely unforgivable!
It was just an assassin organization. If it needed to be destroyed, so be it.
Just in time, he could visit the Henderson family in Imperial City.
He wondered if those old guys missed him.
Soon, a convoy of four black Mercedes drove out of the upscale residential area, heading towards Imperial City.
This time, Alan selected his twelve elite members, who were clearly not up to the task.
However, William had said that bringing them was just for show. The real action would be handled by Benjamin.
Upon hearing this, Alan was shocked.
Benjamin alone against seventy-two assassins?
That was too exaggerated.
Back at a villa, Keith had not been happy these past few days. He was under Evander's control, with all his bank accounts frozen. Every day, he just lay at home staring at the ceiling.
Archibald from the Henderson family had suddenly returned to Imperial City a few days ago, leaving Evander in a mess, forcing him to halt all plans temporarily.
According to the news from Imperial City, the one replacing Archibald to plan the big picture in Lindwood City was Thurlow from the Henderson family.
Thurlow was a guy in a wheelchair. Was he qualified to talk business?
What was the Henderson family up to?
Evander wasn't familiar with Thurlow, but he knew some secrets about the Henderson family.
For Thurlow to be in charge of Lindwood City, something must have happened to Archibald.
To avoid unnecessary trouble, he had confined Keith.
Keith finally convinced his mother to let him out. Stepping outside and feeling the sunlight, he took a deep breath, clenched his fists, and said with a grim face, "Mary, William, this is all your fault. I'm going to ruin you!"
Fuming with anger, he drove to his family's company, stormed up to the top floor, and barged into the chairman's office.
He said nervously, "Dad, what are you waiting for? This is our chance. By leveraging the Henderson family, we can easily take over BK Pharmaceuticals and all of Lindwood City!"
Sitting on the chairman's swivel chair, Evander was talking on the phone. Upon seeing Keith, he frowned, signaled him to be quiet, and said into the phone "Yes, yes, I'll take care of it right away. Don't worry. Everything will be arranged properly."
Keith, knowing when to keep quiet, sat on the leather sofa, crossed his legs, and folded his arms, his face dark.
"Why are you here? Didn't I tell you to stay at home?" Evander said, looking angry.
"Did the Henderson family send someone again?" Keith asked.
"Yes, Thurlow from the Henderson family will be in Lindwood City in a few days," Evander said wearily, leaning back in his chair and rubbing his temples.
The Henderson family was determined to take Lindwood City. Archibald left, and now Thurlow was coming. It was one problem after another.
"The Henderson family is all show and no substance! Archibald couldn't even handle BK Pharmaceuticals and got sent back to Imperial City," Keith said disdainfully.
"Nonsense! What do you know!" Evander snapped.
He slammed the table and said coldly, "You can only say that here. If you dare say one more word outside, I'll confine you at home for a month!"
Keith snorted and asked, "Dad, how are you going to deal with BK Pharmaceuticals and William? I can't swallow this anger. I must settle the score with them!"
Evander glared at Keith, who was consumed by hatred, feeling utterly helpless. Keith was already so grown up, yet still so immature. At this critical moment, he was still clamoring for revenge!
Evander stood up, pointed at Keith's nose, and scolded, "Shut up! If it weren't for you causing trouble every day, would we have so many problems? Get back home! If I find out you're doing anything behind my back, I'll send you abroad!"
Keith's eyes widened in shock, and he stood up in a rage, shouting stubbornly, "Fine! If you won't do it, I will!"
With that, Keith stormed out without looking back.
"You! Come back here!" Evander snapped as he watched Keith's back, angrily punching the air.
After thinking for a moment, he immediately made a call. "Keep an eye on Keith. Don't let him do anything stupid!"
"Yes," came the cold voice on the other end of the line.
Hanging up the phone, Evander checked the time, put on his coat, called his secretary, and hurried out to Cloud Peak Manor.
