Chapter 208 Golden Eagle Car Emblem

"Look?" Margaret mumbled. "Look at what? You think you, a worthless bum, can afford a villa?"

Margaret immediately stood up, pointed aggressively at William's nose, and scolded, "Don't talk about a villa. If you can afford a house, I'll apologize right here right now!"

She thought, 'Shame on this useless piece of trash who has the guts to lie under my nose.'

"All right, I'll keep that in mind," William said calmly.

Margaret snorted and said, "Mary, look at him. He's all about to be caught with his lies. Does he think he can afford a villa? Does he even know how expensive the houses in Lindwood City are now? Even Hillside Villa has gone up in price; a single unit costs fifteen million!"

Mary felt helpless and frustrated. Why was Margaret always looking down on William?

"Mom, William is telling the truth. He really bought one in the upscale residential area. There's no need for me to lie to you," Mary said with annoyance, her eyes slightly cold.

Margaret was stunned for a moment, then immediately sneered, glaring venomously at William, and scolded, "Tell me, what kind of spell did you cast on my daughter? Now she's lying for you!"

She added, "Mary, do you know what the upscale residential area is? That's the property of the Eagle family, the Eagle Group. The cheapest villa there costs over thirty million! Last time, Dorothy and I went to look, and we even caught William delivering food there. He tried to lie to us, saying he bought a villa there, but we caught him red-handed."

"Alright, now he even has the stomach to lie to you. Why are you still defending him? Hurry and get your marriage certificate and divorce him." Margaret relentlessly grabbed Mary and tried to drag her away.

'She must get a divorce from him! With William, she'll never have a good life. Isaac is way better, wealthy, has a good family, and treats her well,' Margaret thought.

Moreover, Margaret had promised Isaac that she would make sure Mary divorces William.

Right now, Margaret was getting anxious.

"Mom, I don't care whether you believe it or not." Mary, angry, stomped her foot and pulled William away.

"Fine, you say you bought a villa, right? Then, today, I'm not going anywhere. I'll call all our relatives to see the new villa together." Margaret suddenly had an idea, glaring at William with a malicious look. "How about that, William?"

She thought, 'This useless William is playing with fire. Fine, today I'll expose his lie and let Mary see how unreliable her husband is!'

Mary glanced at William, who smiled slightly and said, "All right, you wait at home and notify whoever you want. I'll make arrangements, and I'll send to pick you up this afternoon."

Margaret agreed immediately, "Fine, I'll wait at home to see what villa you can afford."

With that, Margaret turned, stomped toward the sofa, and plopped down with a thud. She then took out her phone to call all the relatives she was still in touch with.

"Hello, Dorothy, come to my house. William says he bought a villa and wants to take us to see it," Margaret said in a tone that was full of sarcasm. On the other end of the line, Dorothy was in a mall. Hearing Margaret's words, she knew she was going to be treated with a good show and readily agreed, "All right, Margaret, I'll bring Terry and Anna to your house."

Dorothy hung up the phone, feeling pleased and starting to plan.

She knew Margaret's temper well. From her tone, it was clear she intended to humiliate William.

Good, it would be best to drive that freeloader William out of the Smith Family. That way, Terry and Mary's company could collaborate!

That was a billion-dollar deal!

William and Mary glanced at Margaret, feeling helpless as they left.

Outside, Mary asked, "Are you really planning to take my mom to the villa?"

William nodded calmly. "Sure, it's no big deal. At least this way, your mom might finally accept me. She won't call me a bum every day."

William had made up his mind to show his wealth and power.

Otherwise, Margaret would really drive him crazy.

Mary rolled her eyes at him. "All right, you put yourself on that. I'm heading to the office."

With that, Mary hugged William and kissed him before reluctantly riding her bike away.

Watching Mary's beautiful figure, William thought for a moment and muttered, "Mary needs a car."

After that, he called George and asked him to prepare a car and bring it over in the afternoon.

Then, William went to the hospital to visit Sarah.

Sarah was recovering well. She was already able to get out of bed and run around, and in a few days, she could be taken out to play.

Meanwhile, Margaret made several phone calls, notifying all the relatives.

She initially wanted to inform the Turner family, but considering they were now bankrupt and in big debt, she decided against it.

Before long, a group of Smith family relatives gathered at her house's entrance.

"What is Margaret up to, making us come see her useless son-in-law's villa?"

"Exactly, such a fuss early in the morning. Can William really afford a villa?"

"He's been a bum for three years. What is Margaret thinking?"

Tyler's wife, Hazel Butler, gritted her teeth and said, "Is Margaret out of her mind, believing that idiot William?"

She didn't think that useless William could afford a villa. She heard Mary had become the company's chairwoman, so maybe she bought it and said it was William's for the sake of face.

But still, Hazel was upset.

They were all part of the Smith family, and yet Tyler's family bought a villa. Who wouldn't be upset?

"Hazel, I think Margaret is just putting on a show. Can William really afford a villa?" Next to her, Ulysses' wife, Delia Elliott, had on a mocking expression.

The two families had come together, and Tyler's two brothers, Yancy Smith and Ulysses Smith, also looked disgusted.

These two families were ordinary people, typical small-town folks.

Seeing Tyler's family buy a villa made them upset.

Tyler had become a city councilor and then stepped down. During that time, he didn't help them much, and because of these trivial matters, the three brothers were not on good terms.

Nancy was also there, dressed provocatively in ultra-short shorts and a tank top, looking very displeased. On this hot day, she had planned to go shopping and watch a movie with friends.

She still didn't know how William had resolved the sports car incident last time. It had been so many days, and he hadn't come to settle accounts with her.

Could William really have some skills?

Not long after, Dorothy arrived with Terry and Anna.

As soon as she appeared, Yancy and Ulysses from the Smith family started fawning over her.

After all, Dorothy's family was quite something.

"Oh, Dorothy, you're here too."

Several people crowded around, flattering her in various ways. Dorothy was pleased; the Smith family were such sycophants.

"Margaret asked me to come and see the new villa her son-in-law bought." Dorothy was now very proud, holding her head high and looking down on anyone.

"Hey, that useless William is nothing compared to your son-in-law, Terry." Hazel squeezed in with a flattering smile. "Dorothy, when can Terry arrange a job for my good-for-nothing son? A security job would do."

"Yes, yes, and my daughter has been graduated for a year and still hasn't found a job. She goes clubbing every day."

"And my younger daughter is about to graduate. Can Terry help her, too?"

Terry was initially very annoyed, especially when he heard they were going to see the villa William bought. He didn't want it at all.

Others might not know who William was, but Terry did.

Hearing these people criticize William from afar was amusing.

These people were just like he used to be, disgusting.

Was he really that disgusting back then?

Terry planned to keep William's identity a secret. First, he didn't have the guts, and second, he didn't want to. And more importantly, he would like to see their funny expressions when they found out who William really was. He wouldn't miss that show.

"All right, all right. I'll check when I get back to the office," Terry responded with a smile and a hint of coldness in his eyes.

Then came more flattery from these people.

Dorothy was delighted; Terry was really making her proud.

With that, Margaret came out of the house with Tyler, still cursing, "If that bum really bought a villa, I'll get to my knees and apologize to him right here today!"

She said this to Tyler because Tyler had been trying to persuade Margaret that there was no need to make such a fuss.

Why such a big scene?

Wouldn't it be embarrassing for William?

"Oh, Margaret, you're finally out. What's going on with your family? Did William really buy a villa?" Hazel was the first to speak up, her expression full of mockery.

"Yes, Margaret, don't fool us. We all know what William is capable of," Delia chimed in, her mocking expression unchanged.

Margaret also sneered a few times and said, "I called you all here today for one reason. I want to unite you to teach William a lesson. He actually..."

Margaret explained a lot, finally making it clear to everyone.

A few exchanged glances and understood. Today was all about humiliating William.

This idiot dared to lie about buying a villa.

"All right, Margaret, we'll do as you say."

Everyone readily agreed.

Tyler's two brothers also breathed a sigh of relief. So, it was different from what they thought.

After a while, Margaret urged someone to call William, asking imperiously, "Where's the car you were talking about? Didn't you say it would pick us up?"

"Mom, hold on. It should be here soon," William explained.

Over at Villa No.1, arrangements were being made, and the staff had been given bonuses to speed things up.

Margaret hung up the phone, crossed her arms, and angrily stared down the street.

Soon, a few limos drove up.

"Hey, Margaret, are those Mercedes?" Hazel pointed and asked.

"How could it be? William arranging Mercedes to pick us up?" Delia raised her voice, mocking.

Those were Mercedes and luxury ones at that!

Margaret also thought it was unlikely and waved her hand. "That's dreaming. That guy would be lucky to get a Ford."

But just as she finished speaking, four black Mercedes S-Class sedans pulled up steadily in front of them.

These four Mercedes were no ordinary cars; they had golden eagle emblems on the hoods!

This was a unique symbol of Lindwood City!

Only one family dared to use it, the Eagle family of Lindwood City!

The car doors opened in unison, and the drivers, all in black suits with white gloves and golden emblems on their chests, stood respectfully by the doors, bowing and saying, "Please."

Everyone was stunned!

They were really here to pick them up.
