Chapter 437 Are You the Boss
A few minutes later, Alan piped up, "Yo, Mr. Jones, we got the guy."
William just nodded.
Meanwhile, in some swanky hotel suite, Benjamin was messing around with a knife while Theron, with his busted arm, was sprawled out on the floor.
Benjamin gave Theron the death stare and said, "Get Sarah here, safe and sound."
Theron, all pissed off and glaring at Benjamin, yells, "Who the hell are you?!"
Theron's head was spinning. He was a mercenary, but this dude took him down like it was nothing.
This guy was scary strong!
Benjamin strolled over, kicked him in the chest, flipping him like a pancake, and said, "You don't get to ask questions!"
Theron was on the ground, groaning in pain.
But Benjamin wasn't even fazed. He said, "You got three minutes. If Sarah's not here, you and your crew are toast!"
Theron was sweating bullets now.
One look at Benjamin's eyes, and he knew if he didn't deliver that girl, he was a goner.
Did Leander mess with the wrong guy?
Theron struggled to his knees, grabbed his phone, and called his guys.
"Get the girl here, now!" he barked.
A few minutes later, William, chilling at the hospital, got a call from Benjamin.
"Boss, we got Sarah safe. What do we do with these clowns?" Benjamin asked.
William finally breathed easy and said, "Don't rush. Let them tell Leander they got her; then he will set up a meet with me."
"Got it," Benjamin replied and hung up.
Patricia, standing next to William, got the gist.
William narrowed his eyes, looking ready to kill, and said, "How dare Leander mess with me? Just wait and see!"
Patricia shook her head, feeling bad for Leander.
Going up against William? Big mistake.
William was unbeatable.
In the past couple of days, Patricia had been blown away by William's moves.
She'd do anything for him, even die.
"Alan, get ready. I wanna see what tricks Leander's got," William said, calm but deadly.
Not even ten minutes later, Leander's call came in.
As soon as William picked up, Leander was laughing. "William, I think it's time we had a chat."
William shot back, "What's there to talk about?"
"William, you're cocky, but you missed something. Check your phone. There's a video. Watch it, then decide."
Leander was laughing, thinking he had won.
William hung up and checked the video.
In it, Sarah was lying on a bed, sleeping peacefully.
Next to her, a few big guys were talking smack into the camera.
William smirked, called Leander, and faked an angry shout, "Leander, what do you want?"
Leander, at the Medical Association branch, looking out the big office window, laughed coldly. "So, can we talk now?"
William said, "Are you threatening me?"
Leander just shrugged, "Nah, not threatening you. But I heard you love your kids so much you'd die for 'em. I wanna test that. Don't push me too far, or today's headlines will be about a little girl drowning!"
William's face twisted with rage, eyes burning.
He roared, "You got some nerve!"
Leander kept laughing. "What wouldn't I dare? I'm not from around here, and I've got protection from my country. Even if they pin it on me, I can just bounce back home and live it up."
After a tense pause, William gave in. "Fine, let's meet."
As soon as he hung up, William's anger vanished, replaced by a chilling calm.
Alan and Patricia exchanged looks, feeling bad for Leander. Dude had no clue what he was in for.
Soon enough, William and his crew rolled up to the Medical Association branch where Leander set the meet.
Leander was in his office, cozy with his secretary, feeling like he already won.
He not only wanted to force William to release Sterling but also planed to extort a hefty sum from him.
For a big company like BK Pharmaceutical, a few million was just pocket change.
The landline buzzed. "Leander, they're here," the assistant said.
"Great, send 'em up," Leander replied, grinning and motioning for his secretary to scram.
In no time, the office door swung open, and the assistant led William and his crew in.
"Mr. Jones." Leander stood up, grinning, and offered his hand.
William shook it, smiling back. "Leander, we meet again. Didn't expect you to be the big shot at the Medical Association in Celestia."
Leander smiled, motioning for William to sit. "Mr. Jones, let's be friends."
William sneered, cutting to the chase, "Leander, what do you want? My daughter's still in your grip."
Leander shook his head, poured some red wine, and smiled, "Mr. Jones, no rush. What's BK Pharmaceuticals worth these days?"
William instantly got what Leander was after.
Even now, Leander was looking to shake him down for cash.
"I don't get what you mean. Care to explain?" William said, smiling.
Leander grinned, "I heard BK Pharmaceuticals got a big investment from Crescent Investment Group. How much was it?"
William pretended to think, then smiled. "Just a small amount."
Leander shook his head, "My intel says otherwise."
'Still playing dumb?' Leander thought. 'Once you're in here, everything is up to me!'
William suddenly asked with a grin, "Wanna know the real number?"
"Of course," Leander nodded.
"Fifty billion," William said flatly.
Leander's eyes nearly popped out. "Fifty billion? You sure?"
William nodded, "Yep, 'cause that's what I put in."
Leander was momentarily stunned, then it clicked. "You're the owner of Crescent Investment Group?"
