Chapter 90 I Also Bought a Hundred Million House

Margaret was in a panic, hastily taking out her phone to snap a photo. She needed evidence to question William.

She was deeply suspicious of William's identity.

How could this useless be in a car with the richest man in Lindwood City?
Unable to comprehend, Margaret hurriedly left.

Back home, she showed the photo to Tyler. "Tyler, is this William?"

Tyler was puzzled, then he put down the birdcage. He looked into it with his reading glasses. "Why did you take his picture? Are you still following William?"

Tyler was surprised. What was his wife up to now?

Was she really stooping to stalking people?

Margaret glared at him and slapped his arm. "Look closely at the person next to him!"

Tyler felt suspicious and took a closer look. "Is he George?" he exclaimed.

Margaret nodded. She sat on the sofa with her arms crossed, looking both thoughtful and upset. "William must be hiding something from us. Tyler, call William and ask him to come over. I want to ask him about his relationship with George and if he embezzled a lot of money!"

In Margaret's eyes, it was all about money.

She was certain that William had embezzled a lot of money.

Perhaps more than just a million dollars!

After all, he had saved someone's life, and it was only natural for them to be so polite to him and offer him a ride.

Tyler hesitated for a moment and suddenly said, "Margaret, don't you think William has been acting differently lately?"

Margaret didn't care, slamming the table. "What's different? He's still a good-for-nothing. If he's really different, I'll personally invite him to our house."

Tyler sighed helplessly, "Why do you have to be like this? After all, William is our son-in-law. Why do you have to target him?"

Although Tyler didn't want to admit that William was a waste, he was still their son-in-law, and it was a family matter.

Margaret glared at him and said, "Stop talking and make the call!"

Seeing Tyler's inaction, Margaret took out her phone and said angrily, "If you don't call, I will!"

As she dialed the number, Margaret waited. When the call connected, she arrogantly said, "William, where are you? Come to my house now. Tyler and I need to talk to you."

William received Margaret's unpleasant call after George dropped him off at the hospital.

He smiled. " I'm at the hospital, Mom. I'll come over later."

"No! Come now!" Margaret demanded arrogantly.

The call was abruptly ended. William sighed helplessly and turned to hail a cab to the Smith family's old mansion.

As soon as he entered, William felt a chill in the air.

Margaret was sitting on the sofa, giving him a cold look. "You're here, sit down."

William nodded, greeted the elders, and awkwardly sat in a single armchair across from Margaret. "Mom, what's so urgent that you needed me to come over?" he asked.

Margaret got straight to the point. "William, what is your relationship with George? Is it really that simple that you saved him?"

William was taken aback. Had Margaret discovered something? No, it couldn't be. He had hidden it well.

"Mom, haven't we talked about this? If you want, I can have Mr. Clark come over and explain it again," William said.

But Margaret just laughed coldly and opened her phone, shoving it in William's face. "Is this you?" she demanded.

He lied to her. Now William was really audacious!

William glanced at the photo, his heart sinking. Had Margaret been following him?

Raising an eyebrow and frowning, William's expression turned a bit annoyed. "Yes, that's me, but that doesn't prove anything. I just went to thank him. Mr. Clark was very polite and personally escorted me out, even drove me to the office."

"Is that all?" Margaret was very suspicious, but she couldn't find any reason to prove that William was lying.

William chuckled, "Then let me say that Golden Age Group is mine and George is working for me. Can you believe that?"

Of course, Margaret didn't believe it.

She knew exactly what kind of person her son-in-law was. If what he said were true, why would he have put up with her disdain and insults all these years?

William also knew that they wouldn't believe him, so he deliberately said that.

Sometimes, the truth was not believed.

Margaret fell silent and seemed deep in thought before she said in a commanding tone, "You don't need to come to Mary’s grandfather's birthday celebration the day after tomorrow. Just stay home."

The day after tomorrow was Margaret's father's 70th birthday and she wanted to avoid bringing William to the event.

She didn't want to be laughed at by her family.

Besides, her father had already expressed disapproval of Mary's marriage to William. Bringing him along would be more likely to upset her father than to celebrate his birthday.

William seemed to have anticipated this and didn't say anything. He just took out a small box from his pocket and said, "Mom, this is a gift I prepared for Grandpa."

Margaret glanced at the small box on the table and muttered, "What's this? The box itself looks cheap. Did you get something that costs a few bucks?"

She didn't even bother to open it, thinking it would just be an eyesore.

What decent thing could he give?

Taking this small gift box to the old man's birthday party would be a joke.

William was about to say something when Tyler intervened, "Margaret, it's still a little bit of William's thought. Can't you just let it go?"

Margaret grunted unhappily and coldly said, "Fine, just leave now."

Before William could step out, Margaret’s second sister, Dorothy Jackson, dressed stylishly, walked in. Without any courtesy, she plopped down on the sofa and called out, "Margaret, get me a glass of water. It’s so hot today, I’m dying of thirst."

Margaret’s face immediately turned icy, but she still got her sister a glass of water.

After taking a few gulps, Dorothy finally noticed William and mocked, "Oh, William’s here too. Perfect timing. I came to tell you that you guys can ride with us to Grandpa's birthday the day after tomorrow."

Ride with them?

Margaret hesitated and asked, "Dorothy, is Anna's car big enough?"

"Enough, why wouldn't it be?" Dorothy said excitedly with a smile. "My son-in-law just bought a new car for Anna, called Lincoln Navigator. It cost more than a million and seven-seater. It's definitely enough."

Boasting, blatant boasting.

So, this was Dorothy's purpose.

Margaret’s face immediately darkened. She shot a fierce glare at William, cursing him inwardly as a good-for-nothing.

Dorothy was thrilled, too. She came here to show off. Now, seeing the family's frustrated and helpless faces made her feel great. She pretended to be concerned and said, "Margaret, it's okay. Let William work harder. Maybe he can afford a good car in a few years. Right, William?"

William was singled out and said with a smile. "Dorothy, you're joking. How can I compare with Terry? He's the one who owns the company."

"Well, you can't say that. Even though there's a big gap between you and Terry, I see that you can endure hardships. How about this? I'll have Terry see if there's a suitable job for you at his company. After all, we're family. We shouldn't let benefits go to outsiders." Dorothy Jackson said with a smile, her face betraying her inner glee.

The words were full of sarcasm and mockery.

Of course, there was a big difference between William and Terry.

All that talk about arranging a job was just for show, to flaunt her son-in-law’s success.

William Jones' face turned sour.

"Thank you, Dorothy." William took a deep breath and said calmly.

"Okay, that's settled then. The day after tomorrow, I'll have Anna pick you up at your house."

Dorothy came and went in a hurry, originally to show off.

As soon as she left, Margaret was furious. She smashed a cup and lashed out at William, "Who told you to speak up? Useless! Look at your Auntie's son-in-law and then look at you. What did Terry get for Dorothy? An LV bag, a gold necklace, and a gold ring. He just bought a luxury car worth over a million and recently bought a three-story villa worth a million! What about you? What have you ever bought for our family? How did I end up with such a good-for-nothing son-in-law? It makes me so angry! You're not coming the day after tomorrow, got it?!"

Margaret was so angry that she had a headache and sat on the sofa. "What are you still doing here? Why don't you roll? I get a headache just seeing you!"

William was also helpless.

He also bought a house in an upscale residential area.

It was the most expensive one, Villa No.1, worth a billion dollars!

Luxury car?

William had all the luxury cars in the world, but the parking lot was made of a mountain.

"Mom, actually, I bought a suite not long ago." William looked at the furious Margaret and suddenly said, after thinking for a moment.
