Chapter 220 Get Out of My House!

William sighed and said, "Soon. Before I go home, I want to stay put."

The figure in the dark said nothing more and left.

The next day, William went back to the villa and saw that Margaret had taken over most of the house.

She had moved all the stuff from the old house and proudly looked at him, saying, "How about it? I think I did a pretty good job setting up this place."

He glanced around and even checked upstairs, realizing the luxurious villa had turned into a regular house.

Even his master bedroom with Mary had been taken over by Margaret.

The wedding photos had been moved to the guest bedroom downstairs.

When Margaret saw William coming down from the second floor with a gloomy face, she felt guilty and glanced at Tyler.

Tyler ignored her, which made her glare at him fiercely.

"Move your stuff out!" William walked over with a stern face and glared at Margaret.

However, Margaret wouldn't move. The master bedroom was luxurious, and she wanted it. She wouldn't give it up for anything.

"No way! This house was bought by Mary. Besides, do you expect Tyler and me to live downstairs?" she said unreasonably, "Tyler and I are not getting younger. We need to live in the best room. I won't move."

He arched an eyebrow and couldn't be bothered to argue with Margaret. He said coldly, "I'm not wasting words with you. Move out of the room today. If I come back and see your stuff still there, I'll call security to kick you out."

With that, he left the villa without looking back.

This made Margaret furious.

"Damn it, why is he so mean to us? What did he mean just now? Did he buy this villa with his money?" Margaret was very upset, slumping in the couch with anger.

Tyler, feeling a headache, said, "I think you should be good to William from now on. Can't you see that he's no longer the pushover he used to be?"

How could she be so blind?

"What do you mean, Tyler?" Margaret turned her head.

He thought for a moment and said, "Think about it. What did he give me for my birthday? It was worth millions!"

She snorted, "Hmph, I thought it was something special. He got that from the Antique Market."

He shook his head and said, "Doesn't seem like it. Try again. What did he gift your dad? A gift worth a billion? Do you think he got that from the Antique Market, too? And he gave it without even batting an eye."

Margaret's heart skipped a beat. The more she thought about it, the more her heart raced. 'William, what's going on?'

Seeing that she was finally starting to realize it, Tyler got up and sighed. He shook his head while saying, "I'm telling you, respect him more in the future, or you'll regret it."

With that, Tyler left the villa to play chess.

Margaret sat on the couch, thinking more and more that something was off. 'How could it be? What's going on with William? Is he actually rich? But that doesn't make sense. Why would he put up with the Smith family for three years?'

She had to find a chance to ask him.

In the afternoon, William was talking to George at Golden Age Group when he received a call from Margaret. "William, Mary's uncle is coming to Lindwood City for business and wants to see us. They invited us to dinner. Do you want to come?"

On the phone, Margaret's tone was flattering.

She had no choice. Now she knew that William's name was on the villa.

She had to cozy up with him first, trick him, and then probe into who he really was.

Finally, she'd remove William's name from the villa and replace it with hers.

That way, she could do whatever she wanted.

"Me? I think I'll pass. You can greet them for me and tell them I'm too busy tonight to make it."

William wasn't a fool. He could hear her tone, so he didn't want to go and be ridiculed.

Besides, this uncle's family had always been at odds with the Smiths.

Even though they had moved to Sunshine Bay City a long time ago, it had been two years since they last met.

Margaret was stunned and immediately got angry, questioning, "William, what do you mean? His family invites you to dinner, and you turn them down? Do you think I want you there? If you want to say hello, come yourself."

After saying that, she angrily hung up the phone. 'This William is really getting out of hand.'

William was a bit confused and helpless. It seemed he had to go tonight.

After calling Mary, William planned to pick her up from work in the evening.

Coincidentally, George had also bought a car. It wasn't too expensive; only a decent BMW 5 Series.

In the evening, William drove the brand-new car and waited for a while downstairs at Mary's company.

When Mary saw the new car, she was stunned for a long time, her eyes filled with surprise and confusion. "Where did you get the money to buy a car?"

He leaned against the car door with sunglasses on, looking quite dashing.

He bent down, opened the car door, and invited her in very gentlemanly.

Then, he said, "Didn't I tell you? I have some savings. I bought it for you. I saw how difficult it is for you to take the bus to work every day."

Mary was very touched, but still rolled her eyes at him and said, "Don't spend money like this again, okay?"

William shrugged, indicating he understood.

The restaurant for dinner was one of the more upscale ones in Lindwood City. Hosting a dinner there showed that Mary's uncle's family had some means.

William and Mary parked the car with the valet at the entrance and went upstairs together.

As soon as they entered the private room, they saw that Margaret, Tyler, and Uncle Edward Elliott's family were already there, along with a few unfamiliar relatives.

"Uncle Edward, Aunt Doris." Mary greeted each of these relatives.

William also nodded and greeted everyone.

However, Edward's family showed mocking expressions and barely acknowledged him.

Especially Edward's daughter, Avery, who looked at William with disdain as he sat down. She thought he looked so poor and timid, as if he had never been to a restaurant before.

She wondered, 'Seriously, why did they have to bring him along?'

Avery's mother, Doris, looked quite similar to Avery. Despite being over forty, she was wearing quite a fashionable dress. She glanced at William and said coldly, "Nowadays, anyone can sit at the table."

This was a bit of a direct insult.

Margaret watched coldly and didn't speak up, but she had already looked down on William in her heart.

She regretted bringing him along; it was indeed embarrassing.

However, she also hated Doris's attitude.

Humiliating William at the first meeting was also an insult to her.

The other unfamiliar relatives looked puzzled at Doris and then at William.

Smart ones quickly understood the underlying tension. It seemed Doris's family didn't think much of this cousin.

As a result, a few of them showed faint, mocking smiles.

The atmosphere became slightly awkward.

William had just sat down, the chair still cold, and glanced at Doris. He smiled awkwardly and said, "Maybe I shouldn't stay. I gotta go for some business, so enjoy your meal."

With that, he was about to leave. As he turned his head, his faint smile turned cold.

He hadn't forgotten how Doris had mocked him at the wedding and flaunted her family's wealth.

Back then, he had hidden his identity and avoided trouble, always being polite.

Now, it was different. He didn't need to endure their insults anymore.

It was like fleas showing off in front of a lion.

"I need to head out, too. Uncle Edward, enjoy your meal."

Mary also stood up with a cold face, ready to leave.

"Alright, alright, Mary, William, please sit down," Edward spoke up with a calm look, glaring at Doris as he muttered, "What are you saying? Can we just have a nice meal?"

Edward had had enough of Doris, who was always competitive.

William was, after all, Mary's husband. Giving him a difficult time in front of everyone made it hard for Edward.

Doris crossed her arms and started rudely saying, "What meal? All you know is to eat. With this pauper, you'll be dragged down sooner or later! You know who we're hosting today. Why bring him over? How can we eat with this stench?"

Her scolding was harsh. She was indirectly insulting William and the entire Smiths.

Mary, sitting next to William, held his hands tightly, looking very angry.

Doris's temper was always like this. She never thought much of her family.

However, publicly humiliating them today was too much.

"Let's go." she stood up, trembling slightly with anger.

However, William suddenly held her back and smiled, "We're not leaving today. We'll eat here."
