Chapter 199 Isaac, You Are Courting Death

Just as Mary was about to step forward, her phone rang at an inopportune moment. She glanced at the caller ID—it was Isaac.

Her beautiful crescent-shaped eyebrows furrowed, and she directly hung up.

But immediately, a text message came through.

The content was simple: [Mary, I'm waiting for you in the parking lot. I will tell you something about William.]

'William? Does something happen to him?' Mary felt a pang of worry in her mind.

She glanced at Mr. Jones, who was surrounded by the crowd. She could see him later; there was no rush.

So, Mary turned and walked towards the parking lot outside the hall.

She was very worried about William.

Meanwhile, William was on stage giving a speech, receiving thunderous applause.

Lori had returned, standing in the crowd, still in a daze. Her big eyes were fixed on William, who was speaking on stage.

"William is obviously rich, the heir of a wealthy family and group. Why does he have to pretend to be poor?" Lori cursed in her heart, initially planning to leave.

But Elbert popped up, then said with a smirk, "Lori, I remember someone saying earlier that you would run naked around Lindwood City."

"You!" Lori stomped her foot, her face turning red with embarrassment and anger. "None of your business!"

With that, Lori turned on her high heels and swayed her hips as she prepared to leave.

But halfway through, Lori glanced back at William, who was talking and laughing on stage. She didn't know what she was thinking but muttered to herself, "William, I've taken a liking to you."

After the speech, William checked his phone and saw that Mary had sent him a text: [Pick me up]

Where was Mary?

It seemed he hadn't seen her earlier. Didn't she say she was coming to see him? Where did she go?

William got up and looked around, then greeted Dylan and the others before leaving.

"William, you were the star of the night. You should have seen Lori and the others' faces earlier; they looked like they'd seen a ghost. It was so satisfying," Elbert said with a grin, following William out of the hotel.

As soon as they left the hotel, Genesis eagerly asked, "William, how much money do you have? Is it like those TV shows where there's a family rule that you can't reveal your identity until a certain age?"

Even though she knew William's identity beforehand, experiencing those scenes earlier was still too shocking.

"Genesis, you don't know. William is a top-tier second-generation rich scion," Elbert said loudly.

At this moment, the three of them saw Lori standing at the entrance.

"Lori, why are you still here?" Elbert said irritably. He was annoyed just seeing Lori because she was too materialistic and opportunistic.

"None of your business," Lori replied.

She glared at Elbert, then looked at William, feeling a bit guilty, her cheeks flushed. "William, I need to talk to you."

William was puzzled as he looked at the shy Lori. What was going on?

What could Lori possibly want from him?

Elbert said and sneered, "Fell for William's money, right? Now you want to cozy up to him."

It made Lori's face turn even redder. She glared at Elbert angrily, then said to William, "It's about Mary. Come if you want."

With that, Lori hurriedly turned and walked to the side, swaying her hips.

William thought for a moment and decided to follow her.

"William, are you really going with her? You know who she is," Elbert tried to dissuade him.

"Don't worry. You guys go ahead. I still have to wait for Mary here," William replied.

He smiled, hands in his pockets, and walked towards Lori.

"Go ahead, what's up with Mary?" William kept his distance from Lori and asked.

"William, why are you standing so far away?" Lori asked coquettishly. She swayed her hips as she moved closer, wrapping his arms and acting coy.

William was momentarily dazed, his eyes narrowing as he noticed her extremely low neckline.

After all, he was a man, and under the influence of alcohol, his hormones were easily stirred.

"Don't do that. We're alone here; let's talk business."

William quickly pulled his hand out of Lori's embrace, taking a deep breath to calm his agitated emotions.

Lori glared at him fiercely, but her cherry lips curled up, revealing a sly smile.

She thought, 'William is quite innocent; just some small tricks are enough to make him fall. There's hope. Looks like I can win him over tonight.'

He was a top-tier rich scion, Mr. Jones.

If Lori can get into the Jones family, kick Mary out, and become the hostess of the Jones family, she won't have to worry about the rest of her life.

"William, I'm sorry. It was my fault before. I didn't know you were so rich. Please forgive me. After all, we're classmates, right?" Lori said coquettishly, her eyes welling up with tears as she spoke.

William quickly said, "Stop. I remember very clearly how you humiliated me before. Just because I didn't have money back then, you thought you could bully me."

Lori panicked. The trick usually worked, but it failed on William.

So, she had to have real tears.

Just as William finished speaking, Lori started crying, wiping her tears, then said, "I was wrong, William. Please forgive me."

William really didn't know what to do with her and nodded repeatedly, "Alright, stop crying. Let's forget about the past."

Lori quickly broke into a smile, hooked her arm around William's again, and kissed his slightly flushed cheek, saying with a grin, "Really? I knew you were the best to me."

William let out a long sigh, feeling quite helpless.

The sudden kiss—what if Mary found out?

"Aren't you going to tell me something about Mary?" William quickly asked, trying to divert his attention from Lori's wonderful figure.

"Mary is fine. Let's talk about us. Do you mind if I become your mistress?" Lori asked with a smile, having already forgotten about witnessing Mary get into a man's car in the parking lot earlier.

"William, how much money do you actually have?" Lori probed, her eyes wide open.

William knew what Lori was thinking. He shrugged as he said, "Not much."

"How much is 'not much'?" Lori asked urgently.

He had invested a billion dollars and still said he didn't have much money.

If it weren't for the money in his pocket, she wouldn't be here playing along with him.

"Are you going to talk about Mary or not? If not, I'm leaving," William said.

He wasn't a fool; he knew exactly what Lori was up to, so he didn't reveal anything about his wealth.

"Don't be in such a hurry," Lori complained, slightly annoyed by his lack of romantic understanding. Seeing his indifferent expression, she sighed and said, "Alright, I'll take you there."

She thought, 'Fine, I'll take you over and let you see for yourself that Mary is also a flirtatious woman. Taking advantage of the banquet to hook up with another man—who knows what they're doing in the car? Maybe looking for some excitement?'

Lori knew that Mary definitely didn't know William's true identity.

"Where to?" William asked as he was being dragged by Lori towards the parking lot. It was dark and windy, and he was a bit scared.

If Lori, in her desperation, forced herself on him, he would be letting Mary down.

They quickly arrived at the parking lot, and from a distance, William saw Mary and Isaac sitting in the car as Lori pointed out.

What made him even angrier was that Isaac was leaning over, his back completely blocking Mary's figure. No one knew what they were doing.

William was instantly furious as he saw the scene.

He was about to rush over, but Lori held him back tightly, cursing, "William, look, Mary is just a slut. If I hadn't caught her today, I wouldn't have known she was cheating on you."

Lori could see that William's face was red with anger.

William angrily shook off Lori's hand, glared at her, and shouted, "Get lost!"

Then, with a cold and menacing expression, his fists clenched like iron, he charged towards the Aston Martin.

The car door opened, and Mary got out of the car angrily, glaring at Isaac inside, then said coldly, "Isaac, you've gone too far!"

Isaac also got out of the car, walked over quickly, and tried to explain, "Mary, I'm sorry. Let me explain."

But then, William's punch landed squarely on Isaac's face, followed by a kick to his abdomen.

Then, he pressed Isaac's head onto the car's hood, creating a dent in the shape of a head.

"Isaac, you are courting death," William roared.
