Chapter 467 Margaret's Gone Mad!

William was stunned when he heard Mary say that! "I'll go back right away!"

With that, William quickly rushed back to the villa and saw Mary in the living room.

"William," Mary said as she stood up.

"What happened?" William asked anxiously.

Mary shook her head and said, "I don't know either. I just went out with Lucy, and a woman in her early twenties came over and told me her name is Ellie, and that she's your sister."

William listened, his brows furrowed deeply.

"By the way, she also gave me this and said I could find her if I had any questions." Mary suddenly remembered and took out a business card from her bag, handing it to William. "Do you think this is real?"

William held the business card, thinking for a long time, and said, "I don't know either. I've been investigating my sister for a long time but haven't found anything."

Seeing William's furrowed brows, Mary held his arm and said, "William, if you want to go, just go and check it out."

William turned his head and looked at Mary.

After a while, he placed the business card on the coffee table and said, "Since she came to find you, it means she doesn't want to see me. There must be something wrong here. I need to make some arrangements."

William wasn't stupid. If the other party was really his sister, why wouldn't she see him?

If not, and she was an imposter, then what was her purpose?

William didn't dare to make a hasty judgment. He got up, walked out of the living room, and dialed Benjamin's number. "Benjamin, do something for me. Go to Skyheart Island and find a maid named Nora. Have her find a way to get close to my father and ask about Ellie from back then."

"Yes, Mr. Jones," Benjamin replied on the other end of the line.

After hanging up, William looked up at the sky, his eyes full of complex emotions.

'Ellie, are you really still alive?' He thought.

In the following days, Mary continued to rest in the villa, with Lucy taking care of her.

As for Margaret, who was originally staying in the villa under the pretense of taking care of Mary, she didn't care about Mary's health at all. She went out every day and came back at night, and no one knew what she was doing.

"Mom, why have you been going out every day these past few days?" Mary was sitting in the living room with Sarah when she saw Margaret carrying her bag, ready to go out again. She couldn't help but ask.

Margaret gave an awkward smile and said, "Oh, it's nothing. I'm just going to play cards with some friends."

With that, Margaret left the house and hailed a taxi at the entrance of the upscale residential area.

Soon, Margaret arrived at a farm in the suburbs.

She got out of the car, carrying her bag, and looked around with a dissatisfied expression, muttering, "Meeting in such a desolate place?"

After a while, Margaret received a phone call and immediately said unhappily, "What's going on with you guys? Why meet here? Where are you? If you don't come soon, I'm leaving!"

"Don't be in such a hurry. Walk a bit further, and the third yard on the left is the place." A playful voice came from the other end of the line.

Margaret frowned and said unhappily, "Fine, but I'm warning you, don't try any tricks. If it doesn't work out, I'll find someone else!"

With that, she hung up and walked forward.

The road was rough, a broken and shabby gravel path.

Turn left, the third house.

Margaret looked around to confirm and then knocked on the rusty iron gate.

The door quickly opened, and a freckled man with a shifty look, triangular eyes, a buzz cut, and a scar on the corner of his eye peeked out.

"Just you?" The freckled man looked around Margaret and asked.

Margaret was startled by his appearance, took a few steps back, wrinkled her nose, and said, "What's that smell? It's awful. Yes, it's just me!"

She regretted it now.

How did she find such unreliable people? If it weren't for the tight schedule, she wouldn't have thought of this.

"Please come in." The freckled man grinned and invited Margaret in. In the yard, there were five or six men, all with a rough and dirty appearance.

"Boss, the person is here." The freckled man called out to a burly man in the yard who was sharpening a machete.

Seeing this situation, Margaret felt a bit panicked, being in the suburbs.

"Is this all the people?" Margaret mustered up her courage, glanced around, and asked suspiciously.

The man sharpening the machete got straight to the point, "Don't worry, we'll get the job done perfectly."

Margaret had her doubts, but there was no other way. She said, "Fine, do it tomorrow. I'll trick my daughter into coming out, and you can kidnap her then. But I'm warning you, my daughter is pregnant. Be gentle and don't hurt her. I just need to use her to threaten my son-in-law to get something."

Margaret had it all planned out, using Mary to threaten William to get the ring.

She had searched the villa several times in the past few days and confirmed that the ring was definitely on William.

Given William's temper, she knew she couldn't get it from him directly. So, she had to use her wits.

The burly man stood up, waved the machete in his hand, and asked, "What if your son-in-law doesn't cooperate? My people here are quite ruthless. If something goes wrong..."

He didn't finish the sentence, but Margaret understood.

She thought for a moment and said, "Just don't hurt my daughter. If that useless son-in-law dares to resist, do what you have to. If necessary, just..."

With that, Margaret made a throat-slitting gesture.

Margaret didn't want to be so ruthless, but she had had enough of William, that useless man. Why should he lord it over her?

"Got it. Now, about the money?" The burly man smiled.

Margaret rolled her eyes at them, took out $200,000 in cash from her bag, and threw it to them. "As agreed, $200,000 as a deposit. The remaining $600,000 will be paid after the job is done."

The freckled man eagerly counted the money and then nodded with a smile, "All good!"

The burly man finally smiled and said, "Just wait for the good news."

Margaret didn't stay long, as the yard smelled terrible.

She gave a few more instructions and then hurriedly left, taking a taxi back.

After Margaret left, the freckled man grinned and asked, "Why are we only asking for this much this time? It's not enough for us to split."

The burly man slapped the freckled man on the back of the head and laughed, "Idiot! Once we have the person, we can name our price!"

The freckled man and the others suddenly understood. "You're brilliant!"

Back at the villa, Margaret saw Mary still in the living room with Sarah.

Margaret thought for a moment, then forced a kind smile and said to Mary, "Mary, I need to buy something at the mall tomorrow. Can you come with me?"

Mary agreed without hesitation, "Sure."
