Chapter 447 William's Warning
Zander, looking confused, asked, "What are you talking about?"
He knew Isaiah well—after all, Isaiah was his brother! Isaiah used to be the top foreign affairs guy for the Gonzales family years ago. He was the best in the business, way better than Zander.
But eight years ago, the Gonzales family hit rock bottom. They got crushed, and Isaiah ended up seriously hurt, now a cripple. Talking about it was a big no-no in the family.
Zander and Thelonious exchanged shocked glances. How on earth did William know Isaiah?
William stepped up to Zander, stared him down, and said, "Life's fair. What goes around comes around. Isaiah's fate will be yours too!"
Zander started shaking, a chill running down his spine at William's words.
"You scared the hell out of me!" Zander yelled at William.
William just sneered, turned around, and walked out of the room.
Mary watched him leave, then shot a cold look at Thelonious.
She glared at Thelonious, who was sipping red wine at the head of the table, and declared, "From now on, I'm going to do everything I can to take down your family!"
Even if it meant risking BK Pharmaceuticals, she was ready to go against the Gonzales family to protect William. Who cared if they were the Gonzales family?
Mary looked calm, but she was dead set on taking them down. She'd risk everything without a second thought.
Her words made Thelonious shiver.
"Ms. Smith, why would you go against us for him? I've looked into BK Pharmaceuticals; it's got a bright future. Work with us, and I promise it'll grow stronger every day!" Thelonious said, his mind full of schemes.
He had clear goals in Lindwood City: first, to restore the Gonzales family's honor; second, to secure BK Pharmaceuticals; third, to prep for next month's underground business meeting. The Gonzales family needed to be ready.
Mary shot him a cold look and said, "No thanks. Mr. Gonzales, I've been polite because of your age. But if you try anything shady against my husband, you'll regret it!"
She grabbed her purse and walked out. She was ready to spend her life fighting the Gonzales family.
Thelonious sat at the head of the table, staring out at the night. Something about tonight's decision felt rushed, but he didn't have much time left.
Once everyone had left, Thelonious finally sighed in relief. Mary was tougher than he thought. But he wasn't scared of anyone. He was from the Gonzales family in Imperial City, after all!
He shook his head and took a sip of wine. Suddenly, the door swung open.
A dark-faced guy in a black leather jacket walked in, his presence icy. He sat down and started eating.
Thelonious smiled at him and asked, "Is it done?"
The guy took a bite, nodded, and said, "Yeah, good job, huh?"
Thelonious poured him a glass of wine and said, "Santino, make sure everything's clean. No traces."
The guy was Santino!
Santino wiped his mouth, took a sip of red wine, stood up, and said, "I'm outta here."
"Hold up," Thelonious called out, pulling out a bank card and slapping it on the table. "Here's a million bucks. Hope it's enough."
Santino glanced at the card, then smirked at Thelonious's wrinkled face. He pocketed the card and waved, saying, "No problem."
As Santino left, Thelonious stood alone by the floor-to-ceiling window, staring out at the night. William's words echoed in his mind: "The Gonzales family is not far from destruction."
Thelonious hesitated for a moment but then steeled himself. This time, he had some serious backup.
He was a bit shocked because the person backing him was pretty extraordinary. He couldn't help but wonder who this William was to attract their attention.
With their help, taking out William would give the Gonzales family a huge chunk of the underground business meeting's resources. Thelonious had thought long and hard before deciding. This was the Gonzales family's big chance.
Meanwhile, Zander had taken William to some remote place with cold white walls and black glass with a big screen. William knew there were people behind the glass; they could see him, but he couldn't see them.
William sat behind a long table, his hands bound, but he didn't look nervous at all. He glanced around, occasionally flashing a faint smile.
The door swung open, and two people walked in. One of them immediately slapped the table and yelled, "You still smiling? Do you even get how serious this is?"
He'd been with the Gonzales family for years, doing this kind of stuff for seven or eight years.
William smirked, showing a hint of contempt, and said, "I have nothing to explain. But the Gonzales family ignores the law and arrests people at will. Have you thought about the consequences?"
"You're asking for it!" Zander slammed the table. He was determined to teach this arrogant William a lesson today.
William looked at Zander with disdain and silently raised his hand.
Zander stared at the handcuffs.
"Even now, you don't know who you've messed with. You're really asking for it!" William said.
"You're the one asking for it! This is my turf! Spill everything, so I don't have to get rough!" Zander declared, glaring at William. It looked like he was in for a long night.
"I have nothing to explain. How dare you ignore the law and arrest me? Be ready for the consequences," William said calmly.
"Oh really? Now you're in my hands. Everyone here and outside is under my command. You better tell me what I want to know, or don't make me resort to torture," Zander said impatiently. He was tired of going in circles with William.
But then, his eyes widened, and he gasped in fear.
William raised his hands, clenched his fists, and the handcuffs deformed right before their eyes!
In just a few seconds, William broke a pair of silver handcuffs!
Zander instinctively took a few steps back. It was terrifying! Was this even humanly possible?
After breaking the handcuffs, William sneered, moved his wrists, and looked at the three people who were now dumbfounded. "I told you, you'll end up like Isaiah."
