Chapter 249 Time to Show Off
Betty couldn't stand Simeon's behavior either. She stood up angrily and said, "Enough, Simeon! Stop acting like a spoiled brat. William is my boyfriend, and I won't allow anyone to hurt him!"
Betty's words only made Simeon angrier. Pointing at William with a sullen face, he asked, "Betty, are you really blaming me for this man?"
Simeon felt indignant. Why should Betty treat him like this?
Yes, it was all because of this man named William. It was him, all because of him!
His appearance was the reason why Betty treated him that way!
"It's all because of you!" Simeon yelled.
He directed all his anger at William, grabbed a nearby wine bottle, and smashed it towards William's head!
Betty was so frightened that she covered her mouth and screamed.
If that bottle hit William's head, he would definitely be bleeding!
Simeon had a cold smile on his face. He believed that once the bottle hit, this guy would definitely beg for mercy!
Then, Betty would know who the real man was!
William raised an eyebrow indifferently and sneered, and in the next second, everyone saw a blur. William's right hand was holding the wine bottle that Simeon had raised, while his left hand was gripping Simeon's throat tightly!
And all of this happened in a split second!
Everyone was shocked by William's lightning-fast move!
At this moment, William was gripping Simeon's throat, exuding a powerful aura. His eyes were cold as he said calmly, "Get out!"
His voice wasn't loud, but the thunderous momentum swept through Simeon's entire body!
Simeon trembled all over, feeling the terrifying aura of the man in front of him, an aura even more formidable than his father's!
Simeon was terrified, his legs trembling uncontrollably!
If he could do it over, he would rather not have met William here, and he would rather not have acted impulsively against him!
William loosened his grip and pushed Simeon away forcefully, smiling faintly. "Well, do you need me to escort you out?"
Simeon, granted amnesty, didn't mind being embarrassed in front of Betty. He quickly wiped his cold sweat and left a parting shot, "Fine! Just wait!"
Leaving his harsh words behind, Simeon and his two followers hurriedly ran out of the restaurant.
The onlookers, still savoring the excitement, gave William a thumbs-up.
Simeon and his two followers hadn't run far when they anxiously asked, "Mr. Collins, are you okay?"
Simeon, still catching his breath and finally recovering from the earlier ordeal, shook his head and said, "I'm fine."
"Mr. Collins, what should we do now? Should we call for backup?" one of the followers asked.
Simeon's face was clouded with anger. Clenching his fists and gritting his teeth, he glanced back at the restaurant, where Betty and William were chatting and laughing, and said, "Betty will be my woman! She will be!"
"This guy is no ordinary person," Simeon said with a hint of malice on his face. "Call! Get Oberon and the others over here! I want him to crawl out of this place today!"
William didn't take this little episode to heart. Seeing Betty still in a state of panic, he smiled and joked, "Ms. Jordan, it's really dangerous to be out with you. If there's nothing else, I'll be leaving now."
Betty was taken aback and quickly stood up to apologize, "I'm sorry. It's all because of me. I apologize on his behalf."
William waved his hand, not minding at all.
The two sat for a while longer and then prepared to leave.
But just as Betty stood up, she suddenly shouted, "They're coming. You need to go!"
"Who?" William instinctively asked, turning to see a dozen tattooed men swaggering in through the glass door, with the previously frightened Simeon following behind them!
The tattooed leader, a muscular man, pointed at William standing in the restaurant and asked, "Is it this guy?"
"Yes! It's him!" Simeon said.
He looked at William with shame and anger, then sneered and mocked, "What's the matter? Why is your face so pale? If you're scared, kneel down and beg me now, and I'll let you go!"
William sighed, sneered, and was about to speak when Betty, angrily, stood before him. "Simeon, what kind of man are you? Bullying with numbers? Don't think I look down on you. Now, get out of my way! Or I'll have my dad deal with you!"
After speaking, Betty grabbed William's hand and tried to leave.
But Oberon blocked their way, standing there and rubbing his chin in amazement. "Hey, don't be in such a hurry. Simeon said this guy was causing trouble, so we just came to check it out."
"How about this? You hang out with us for a bit. There's a hotel nearby. If you come upstairs with me, I won't make things difficult for your little boyfriend. How about that?" he added, his eyes filled with greedy lust. It was the first time he had seen such an outstanding beauty, especially with her ample chest, slim waist, and long legs!
"Oberon, don't make things difficult for Betty. It's all because of this guy, it's him..."
Simeon, on the side, also noticed something was wrong.
Before he could finish his words, he was cut off by Oberon. "Shut the hell up! Do you think you have the right to speak when I'm talking? Get lost!"
With that, Oberon slapped Simeon across the face and kicked him aside, shouting, "What, are you going to the hotel with us?"
"I'll go. I'll go!" Simeon hurriedly replied.
Simeon was genuinely interested in Betty, and now he was forcing a smile.
"Oh my God! You're disgusting. Go to hell!" Oberon said, brushing his hair back and kicking Simeon into the corner again.
"Mr. Collins, don't think you can boss me around just because you have some money! I, Oberon, do what I want, and no one can tell me otherwise!" Oberon arrogantly announced.
He didn't think much of Simeon. He initially joined for the money, but Oberon decided he was interested in the woman after arrival.
"So, have you made up your mind?" Oberon said to Betty.
Full of lecherous desire, he rubbed his hands and stared at Betty, his eyes lingering on her body.
Suddenly, a discordant voice rang out in the restaurant. "Not a chance, idiot!"
"Who the hell said that? Looking for trouble?" Oberon angrily shouted, squinting his eyes as he searched, finally locking his gaze on William behind Betty.
William hadn't intended to get involved, but he had no choice. After all, Betty was Alan's daughter.
"Stop talking about who should die or whatever. I've heard that line hundreds of times, and yet here I am, still standing," William said with a cheeky grin, not at all intimidated by the dozen or so men.
"Alright, alright, you sure have some guts!" Oberon sneered, already formulating a plan in his mind.
Someone yelled, "Oberon, beat him to death! How dare he insult you!"
Another added, "Yeah, this guy doesn't know his place. I say break his legs to teach him a lesson!"
For a moment, the men behind Oberon were all talking at once as if they had already decided William's fate.
Oberon raised his hand and sneered, "Kid, don't say I'm bullying you. I'll give you two choices: first, crawl over and beg for mercy, and I might spare you. Second, my men will make sure you won't be walking out of here!"
Oberon was a notorious thug on this street, often involved in fights and extorting protection money. He had been to the police station numerous times, but so what? He was still thriving here.
It was all because Oberon had the backing of the small gang Shadow Syndicate in Lindwood City!
Shadow Syndicate, not too big or small, was a gathering place for thugs and hooligans, a second-rate small gang.
William shook his head, pulling Betty behind him to stop her from speaking. He then exuded a sharp aura and said, "Oberon, right? I'll give you two choices as well: first, take your men and get out of here. Second, I'll help you get out."
As soon as he said this, everyone looked at William as if he were an idiot. They all thought to themselves, 'This guy must be scared out of his mind, daring to confront Oberon like this. Isn't he asking for death?'
One of the men behind Oberon quickly stepped forward, pointing at William's nose and cursing, "You little punk, you're asking for it, daring to defy Oberon!"
Oberon also reacted, his brow furrowing and his face turning pale. He couldn't understand why William had the courage to be so arrogant. Could it be that he had someone backing him?
"Kid, who are you with?"
Oberon, though ruthless, was educated and clever. He knew to first find out William's identity.
Because he knew there were some people he couldn't afford to mess with.
Although he was lustful, he wouldn't lose his life over a woman!
William looked at him calmly and replied, "Alan."
