Chapter 190 "Buy it for me!"

William had come to understand Terry's pretentious nature.

Upon seeing the envy and admiration on Mary and Margaret's faces made Terry feel completely at ease.

Indeed, a man with some exceptional qualities could access better resources.

With the current momentum, Terry felt confident that with a bit more effort, winning Mary over would be straightforward.

The thought of being with Mary and cuckolding William made Terry's face radiate with pride and smugness.

William saw Terry's expression clearly. He was even more determined that Terry wasn't a good man.

"Terry, if you can arrange a meeting with Mr. Jones, please inform me. I'd like to invite him to dinner so I can get to know him," Margaret said with anticipation.

"Don't worry, it's a small matter. After all, I'm quite familiar with Mr. Jones," Terry shamelessly said. He then looked at his watch and said to Mary. "Mary, why don't you join us for dinner tonight. It's a gathering of a few pharmaceutical company owners hosting Mr. Jones."

Mary glanced at William, seeing no objection on his face, then agreed, "Alright, I hope you can introduce me then."

Mary didn't want to accept the invitation at first, especially since it was in the evening and she was pregnant. She would avoid such social engagements if she could.

However, since the occasion involved Mr. Jones and the owners of various pharmaceutical companies visiting Lindwood City for cooperation, Mary found it difficult to decline.

She turned William to seek his opinion first.

It was noticed by everyone.

Margaret was visibly unhappy. She didn't think Mary need to ask permission for William.

Anna snorted with a cold laugh. She found it was funny for Mary to consult William for such a small matter.

"Margaret, is William the one in charge in your family?" Dorothy sneered sarcastically, rolling her eyes with disdain written all over her face.

How could such a useless person control someone like Mary?

Margaret couldn't stand hearing such remarks.

It was her pet peeve.

"William, get us some water," Margaret shouted angrily at William.

Immediately, Dorothy and her families just sat there and watched with disdainful expressions.

Could Margaret really order William around?

Mary's expression changed slightly, but she said nothing. She knew Margaret's intentions—prove her status in the family.

William knew it too well. He didn't want to confront Margaret today, so he went to get water and handed it to everyone.

He didn't want to embarrass Mary in front of Dorothy's family.

For Mary, William could endure everything.

With that, Margaret was quite pleased.

She had worried that William wouldn't listen, which would bring embarrassment to her.

"Go mop the floor; it is very dirty now." Margaret began to push her luck, bossing William around.

Upon hearing Margaret's words, William cleaned the dirty floor quickly.

However, Dorothy deliberately spilled water all over the place. She laughed sarcastically, "William, sorry for messing up your work. Could you mop it again?"

William's face showed a hint of anger. Margaret was his mother-in-law, so he could tolerate her demands.

But who did Dorothy think she was?

Just as he was about to resort, Mary got up, pulled William aside, and whispered, "Don't get mad, just bear with it. She's my aunt."

William snorted coldly, then mopped the floor again.

Sweat seeping from Margaret's back, she felt both tense and holding her breath.

She was worried that if William was angry, he might beat up Dorothy.

But she also held her breath, wondering why William hadn't be angry and hit Dorothy yet.

Upon seeing Mary intervene to calm William, Margaret even resented her a bit. Mary for intervening with William.

Once everything was cleaned up, Dorothy arrogantly said, "Margaret, you've really trained him well. He is very helpful."

Margaret beamed with satisfaction and said, "Of course, I am the one who in charge my home"

At that moment, Terry suggested, "How about we all go out for lunch?"

Everyone agreed, much to Margaret's satisfaction, as the thought of eating William's cooking disgusted her.

As everyone got up to get ready, Margaret turned to William and said, "You stay here. Sarah is still in the hospital; you should go check on her."

'Is this her way of saying I am not welcome to join?' William thought.

He was a bit stunned, unsure of Margaret's intentions.

But Dorothy understood; Margaret didn't expect William to be involved in the upcoming discussions.

If Terry can collaborate with BK Pharmaceuticals, the billion-dollar investment would be theirs, without William interfering or taking a share.

So, Dorothy immediately chimed in. "Yes, you should stay at home."

William felt helpless. He instantly understood their intentions.

They didn't want him involved in their discussions, likely about that billion-dollar investment.

He didn't really want to dine with these snobbish relatives and his mother-in-law anyway.

"Fine, I won't go," William said, then turned to Mary. "Don't drink alcohol; it's bad for the baby."

Terry and Anna heard it clearly, and Terry exclaimed, "Mary, you're pregnant again?"

Mary nodded with a smile.

Terry was visibly displeased. She was pregnant again.

Such a perfect woman, and she was having another child with William.

But then he thought, it would make things even more interesting, and a sinister smile spread across Terry's face.

As Mary knew that no one wanted to bring William along, she said, "You all go ahead. I won't go either. I'll go to the hospital with William to check on Sarah."

Terry freaked out a bit and quickly said, "Hey, everyone's coming. It's just a meal, and trust me, I got this."

With that, no one objected anymore.

Soon, they were off to a newly opened seafood restaurant.

As soon as they entered, Terry put on a generous act and said, "Hook us up with your best private room for us."

The waiter led Terry and the group inside with a smile. Margaret kept praising the place when looked around.

Once inside the private room, she sat down and said to Dorthy, "Dorothy, eating here must be expensive, right?"

Dorothy proudly patted her hair and said, "Not really. The private room fee is only two thousand."

Margaret was so shocked she sat up straight.

Two thousand just for the room? Dorothy's family must be rolling in dough.' Margaret exclaimed inwardly.

"Oh, it's all thanks to Terry here," Dorothy said with a pride smile.

Terry was happy to hear that, then told the waiter, "Bring us your best set menu."

"Yes, sir," the waiter replied politely and then left.

Upon hearing "best set menu," Margaret asked softly, "Terry, how much does that set us back?"

Anna was touching up her makeup. Upon hearing Margaret's words, she said nonchalantly, "Only ten thousand per person; no biggie."

Margaret went white as a sheet. She sighed as glared at William, who was sitting with Mary lost in his phone, cursing him silently.

"Margaret, dining out is all about enjoying yourself. Don't sweat the bill. With Terry here, you won't have to spend a dime," Dorothy said while looking at Terry with affection.

Margaret felt even more upset when she heard it.

'Why can't I have such a good son-in-law like him?' Margaret thought.

William sat there like a block of wood.

If only William could pull his weight a bit more, she wouldn't have to live such a hard life.

"William, what gives? All you ever do is stare at your phone," Margaret glared at William as she said.

William chuckled. What was he up to?

He was texting George:[George, is this seafood restaurant one of our properties?]

George quickly replied:[No, but give me a sec.]

William didn't pay much attention and put down his phone. Moments later, he received a text message:[I have purchased the seafood restaurant. It is now your property. Do you have any instructions?]

William was speechless that George was so reliable.
