Chapter 374 Rich Young Man
Sarah wasn't scared of strangers. She just strolled over and said hey to Llewellyn.
Llewellyn turned on the charm, goofing around and making her laugh.
Margaret shot a few glances their way, then gave Sarah the stink eye before turning to Lucy and snapping, "Take her upstairs."
Lucy knew Margaret had it out for Sarah, so she scooped her up and headed upstairs.
"I'll come play with you later, okay?" Sarah chirped, flashing a bright smile and waving at Llewellyn.
Llewellyn grinned, winked, and nodded. "Sure thing."
"Llewellyn, are you married?" Margaret suddenly asked, her smile wide.
"Oh, not yet," Llewellyn replied, still smiling, with two beefy bodyguards hanging out behind him.
Margaret's face lit up at his answer.
She started plotting. Getting Mary and William to split was a no-go.
But Nancy was also a part of The Smith family. If she could hook Nancy up with Llewellyn, she would definitely benefit from it.
With that in mind, Margaret rushed to Nancy's room, grabbed some of her photos, and dashed back to the living room to show Llewellyn. "What do you think of this girl? If you are interested in her, I can set you guys up. She's a good girl, trust me."
Llewellyn glanced at the photos, not really interested, but a plan started brewing in his head.
"She's nice, but I wonder if she'd be up for it," Llewellyn said with a sly smile.
Margaret slapped her thigh, thinking, 'It's in the bag!'
"Of course, she'd be up for it. I'll call her back, and you two can chat," she said eagerly, thrilled.
If this worked out, she wouldn't have to deal with William's crap anymore.
Thinking about it, she got even more excited.
Llewellyn smiled, already seeing through Margaret's scheme.
After chilling for a bit, Llewellyn noticed William still wasn't back, so he stood up and said, "I got other stuff to handle, so I'm out. If William shows up, let him know I was here."
With that, he brushed off Margaret's attempts to keep him and bounced.
Margaret was bummed but couldn't make him stay.
Llewellyn left the house and hopped into a Bentley parked outside.
Just then, Nancy and her folks showed up.
Nancy's eyes locked onto the Bentley and Llewellyn. She thought, 'Damn it, he was hot!'
Knowing Nancy's ways, Delia said, "What are you staring at? Daydreaming again? Guys like that aren't for people like us. Hurry up and move stuff before William changes his mind."
Nancy scowled, shot her a cold look, and snapped, "If you wanna move, do it yourself. I'm gonna be a rich lady one day!"
Fuming, she stormed into the villa and headed straight to her room.
There was a party tonight thrown by BK Pharmaceuticals to thank the new board members and investors.
They were also gonna drop some big news.
Mary had been getting ready at the hospital all day.
"Mary, you don't have to go. Just rest," William said, looking at her with concern.
Mary rolled her eyes at him and said, "I'm the chairwoman. I gotta be there."
Mary was a natural beauty, even without makeup. But she was taking tonight's party seriously and went for a formal look.
"By the way, my mom told me you took her name off the deed," Mary suddenly asked while rummaging through her bag.
William answered honestly, "Yeah."
Mary held his hand and smiled gently. "Alright, I know she must've messed up, but she's still my mom. Cut her some slack if you can."
William knew Mary had a soft spot and said helplessly, "Alright, I'll do it for you."
"Come with me later. We need to change clothes," Mary said, smiling and glancing at William, who didn't really care about his looks.
William looked at himself and chuckled, not saying a word.
They left the hospital and drove for half an hour before pulling into a quiet alley.
At the end of the alley stood this crazy Gothic-style building.
The car pulled up, and William gave the place a once-over. He didn't usually hang out in spots like this; it was definitely something else.
"This place has gotta be worth, like, a hundred million bucks, right?" William said, scratching his head. "How'd you even find this joint?"
Mary straightened her clothes and hair, grinning. "We're at my friend's salon. She's a top-tier stylist who just returned from abroad. Normally, you'd need an appointment, but today, she will give you a makeover without one."
William was puzzled because Mary didn't have a ton of friends.
"Me?" William asked, looking down at his outdated threads.
Mary was a regular here. She led William out of the car, through the gate, and into the courtyard. After a few steps, a stunning woman in a white low-cut V-neck dress came out to greet them.
"Mary, I didn't expect you so soon!" she exclaimed.
William checked out the woman, who seemed to bring a breeze with her as she walked. Then he glanced at Mary, who was beaming.
The woman had this unique vibe.
The loose white shirt highlighted her curves.
Her slender arms and sweet smile were both warm and alluring.
One look, and William could tell her body was perfectly proportioned, with a striking contrast between her chest and her slim waist.
She didn't mind flaunting her figure at all. She was super confident and open.
With a mature charm, she ran over with a smile and grabbed Mary's hand, saying, "Mary, you should've told me you were coming."
Noticing William, she asked with a glint of interest in her eyes, "Mary, who's this?"
"William, my husband. He's coming to the party with me tonight," Mary introduced. "William, this is Layla Jones, the owner of this studio and my best friend. She just got back from abroad. I haven't mentioned her to you before."
William glanced at Layla's pretty face, a smile tugging at his lips.
"Hey, I'm Layla Jones," Layla said, extending her hand politely, her surprise already masked. Then she added with a smile, "Funny, we have the same last name."
But Layla secretly thought William was a loser living off Mary.
Seeing him now, she thought he was not only a loser but also a bit of a jerk.
So, she acted all high and mighty, her eyes full of disdain for William.
But she played it cool and didn't make it too obvious.
"Haha, it's an honor to share the same last name with such a classy lady," William said, laughing heartily.
Upon hearing this, Layla smiled, her eyes seductive.
Her smile was stunning, no less charming than Mary's, with a captivating allure that made hearts race.
"Come on in," she said lightly.
She really couldn't get why Mary had married such a loser.
William looked at the luxury cars parked in the courtyard and the peacocks and tigers in cages, saying enviously, "Layla, I didn't expect you to have these animals. Pretty impressive, and these cars must be worth a fortune."
Mary turned her head and gave him a weird look, raising her eyebrows, but William didn't seem to notice.
'What's up with William? He's talking a lot,' Mary thought.
Working in a high-end styling studio, Layla had a hefty annual income.
Many of her clients were big shots from listed companies who drove in from out of town. They were either rich or important, so money was never an issue. For Layla, money was just a number, and talking about it seemed tacky.
Layla looked at William in surprise, a hint of disdain flashing in her eyes. She twirled her wavy hair and said, "It's not as impressive as you think. Although it's not as grand as you rich young men, it can still barely sustain a living."
William was taken aback and asked, "Rich young men? Are you talking about me?"
Did Layla know him?
