Chapter 247 I'm a New Employee
Faced with Jessica's dominance, Margaret couldn't muster any resistance at all.
She only showed her claws to William.
If it were an outsider, she wouldn't even dare to make a peep.
Margaret was deeply intimidated by Jessica, a formidable woman.
"I, I..." Margaret stammered, covering her face, not knowing what to say.
Jessica slapped her again and said sternly, "Margaret, I'm warning you, put away your little schemes. Do you really think the Jones family is easy to bully? Have you forgotten the warning I gave you before?"
This Margaret really had no memory.
The most shameless person was none other than Margaret.
"I, I didn't," Margaret stuttered, covering her face and lowering her head. She trembled all over, not daring to look Jessica in the eye.
Jessica afforded her a chilly glance before proceeding to enter the villa, where she briefly surveyed the surroundings before taking a seat on the living room sofa.
Margaret hurriedly turned around to pour coffee, fearfully and obsequiously handed it to Jessica, saying, "Please have some coffee."
Jessica didn't take it, so Margaret had to place it on the coffee table and slowly tried to sit down.
"Who told you to sit?" Jessica suddenly snapped.
Jessica's icy words scared Margaret into standing straight up, her back drenched in sweat.
She sneaked several glances at the eight bodyguards behind Jessica, her heart pounding. If these people were to beat her, she would be as good as dead.
Thinking of this, Margaret spinelessly knelt down with a thud, begging for mercy, "Please don't hit me. I was wrong. I won't dare to do it again. I will treat William well. I will treat him as my own son."
Jessica was also taken aback, but her expression remained indifferent.
She didn't expect Margaret to be so shameless.
William, as the heir of the Jones family, with the blood of the Jones family, had been bullied by such a person for three years.
What a disgrace.
Seeing Jessica not speaking, Margaret grew anxious, continuously kowtowing and slapping herself, apologizing, "I'm just trash. Please don't bother with me. It's not worth it to bother with someone like me. I know I was wrong."
In the end, Margaret was crying her heart out.
Jessica, annoyed, got up and left a sentence, "Margaret, take care of yourself. If I find out you have any ill intentions towards him again, I will make your life a living hell."
Margaret knelt on the ground, her whole body lying on the floor tiles. Watching Jessica leave, she finally breathed a sigh of relief, her body going limp.
"Damn bitch! Bitch!" Margaret cursed angrily; she had never suffered such a loss.
Meanwhile, on his way to BK Pharmaceuticals, William received a call, surprisingly, from Betty, Alan's daughter.
"William, did you miss me?" Betty said on the phone.
Hearing this soft and sweet voice, William got goosebumps all over.
How did Betty get his number?
William felt a bit wary and asked, "Betty, what are you looking for me for so early in the morning?"
Betty's voice was pleasant, with a cool tone. She said, "Are you free this afternoon?"
William was puzzled; Betty asking him out seemed suspicious.
"No," William directly refused.
But Betty, on the other end, giggled and said, "Then it's settled. I'll come to pick you up later."
"Wait, what do you mean it's settled? Don't mess around," William said.
But Betty already hung up the call
William was helpless and didn't take it seriously, thinking it was just a child's prank.
When he arrived at the company, several receptionists avoided him as if he were a plague, even dodging his greetings hurriedly.
William was puzzled and shrugged helplessly.
What was going on now?
He came today just to check on the company's situation. Early in the morning, Dylan told him about meeting Mary the night before.
So, after much thought, William had George handle something.
Starting today, he was officially an employee of BK Pharmaceuticals.
He wanted to see what Jessica was up to!
When he arrived at the company, the marketing department employees, who had been celebrating meeting their quarterly targets, froze for a moment upon seeing William. Then, without saying a word, they returned to their workstations.
The entire company felt very oppressive.
William looked around for a long time but couldn't figure it out, shaking his head helplessly.
"William, how dare you come here?" a voice said.
Brenda suddenly appeared in front of William, looking sneakily at the office door as if guarding against someone coming in.
William looked up, frowning slightly as he asked, "What's wrong?"
Brenda hurried around the desk and whispered in William's ear, "I advise you to leave quickly. According to reliable sources, Keith is targeting you!"
Keith?
William frowned, just about to say something, when two people suddenly burst in through the company door.
"William, what are you doing here?" Keith said, standing at the door with a cold smile and looking at William mockingly. "And you, Brenda, what are you doing? Not working properly and just wandering around! Do you want to be fired too?"
"No, I was just..." Brenda looked terrified, trying to explain, but Keith interrupted her, "No, what no? I think you just don't want to work anymore."
Keith's face darkened, and he declared coldly, "Not working properly, just wandering around, you're fired!"
William's face darkened at this moment, and he shouted, "Mr. Carter, there's no need to target others because of me. If you want to deal with me, just come at me. It has nothing to do with Brenda."
"William," Brenda called out.
She was a bit moved, wiping the moisture from the corners of her eyes.
William's lips curled up, and he smiled, saying, "Mr. Carter, I forgot to tell you, starting today, I am also a member of BK Pharmaceuticals."
The entire company's employees were stunned!
William, he actually became their colleague?!
Could it be arranged by Mary?
Keith also trembled slightly, his facial muscles twitching with anger as he yelled, "What did you say? I am the vice chairman of the company. When did you become an employee of our company? Why don't I know?"
William said calmly, "You know you're just the vice chairman, so it's not surprising you don't know."
"What do you mean?" Keith snapped.
Furious, he pointed at William and shouted, "How dare you! Even though I'm the vice chairman, can't I control you? A new employee who doesn't respect his superiors, we at BK Pharmaceuticals definitely don't need! I'll have HR fire you right now!"
Keith sneered inwardly, convinced that William must have gotten into BK Pharmaceuticals through Mary.
He thought, 'Mary, how dare you show favoritism. Do you really think the company is your own?'
If William knew this, he would definitely laugh and say, "It's really is my own, no, it's bought."
The argument had already reached the chairman's office.
"Nonsense!" Mary said.
Frowning, she got up and stepped into the marketing department in her high heels.
Then, she was shocked by the scene before her.
William was raising his fist, swinging it towards Keith's face!
"Stop!" Mary shouted in panic.
One punch, and it would be over!
"William, what are you doing!" she snapped as she quickly came to William and Keith, glaring at him fiercely.
"Good, good!" Keith said, trembling with anger, also scared by the aura William had just displayed.
He tugged at his tie, his face sinister as he scolded, "Ms. Smith, you saw it too. Your good husband dares to hit me. Does he even respect me? Even if he's a new employee you brought in, doesn't he know any rules?"
New employee?
Mary was also very troubled. What was going on? She turned to William, pulling him aside, and asked anxiously, "What's going on? Why are you here?"
He shrugged, smiling innocently as he said, "I'm here to work."
Mary's delicate face immediately showed a layer of suspicion, surprised, "You're here to work?"
Then, she covered her mouth and laughed, not mocking, just surprised, asking, "How could you possibly come to our company? Alright, I know you're worried about me. You can go back now. I can handle the company's matters."
William was helpless, took out an offer letter from his pocket, and handed it to Mary, saying, "I really am here to work."
Mary took the offer letter and was stunned.
William was actually her assistant?
Why didn't she know beforehand?
"You, how did you come to our company, and as my assistant?" Mary asked, very puzzled.
