Chapter 426 You Have Thirteen Minutes Left

Half an hour ago, more than a dozen media outlets had arrived at the press conference at the Medical Association branch, and there were already hundreds of people gathered around.

At 8:30 sharp, Mary rolled up with her crew in three sleek black Mercedes, pulling up right at the entrance of the Medical Association branch.

"They're here! Mary, the big boss of BK Pharmaceuticals, is here!" someone hollered.

A swarm of journalists with cameras rushed over.

As soon as Mary stepped out of the car, the journalists mobbed her.

"Ms. Smith, what do you think about the Medical Association revoking BK Pharmaceuticals' business license?"

"Ms. Smith, is it true your daughter is actually your husband's kid?"

"Ms. Smith, how many lovers do you have? Did you achieve your status through intimate relationships?"

Their questions got nastier and nastier, with mics practically shoved in her face.

Mary frowned, gave a cold smile, and said, "Sorry, not doing interviews right now."

With that, she walked off.

The security guards quickly formed a barrier, keeping the media at bay.

The hall of the Medical Association branch was still packed. There were members of the Medical Association, reps from big-name pharmaceutical companies in Lindwood City, and some troublemakers Cassius had planted.

Cassius was there too, eyeing Mary as she walked in all graceful-like.

She had a killer figure.

Even though she was pregnant, you couldn't even tell.

Brenda, trailing behind Mary, stood on the other side of the press conference, grumbling, "Ms. Smith, those journalists are the worst! They totally did it on purpose. It's so annoying!"

Mary just gave a slight smile and said, "Take it easy. You can't shut them up, can you?"

Brenda muttered a few things but didn't say more.

Meanwhile, Cassius had already strolled over, dressed in a gray plaid suit, looking sharp with his hair slicked back and a smile on his face.

"Ms. Smith, nice to see you again," he said, extending his hand.

Mary glanced at it, didn't move, smiled faintly, and said, "Mr. Beaumont, what's up?"

Mary could tell Cassius had a thing for her.

Plus, the dirt on him showed he was far from a good guy, with all sorts of shady stuff going on.

Cassius raised an eyebrow, pulled his hand back, glanced at the media outside, and chuckled. "Ms. Smith, those journalists will be grilling you later. Ready for it?"

Mary didn't answer, her eyes icy.

Cassius went on, "Ms. Smith, you're a tough cookie, but sometimes you gotta face reality. The Medical Association yanking your company's credentials is gonna mess things up big time. Plus, I heard you're tangled up in lawsuits now."

He watched Mary's face and kept smiling, "I might be able to help you out of this mess. Wanna know how?"

Mary frowned and looked at Cassius, who had a weird glint in his eyes.

"Mr. Beaumont, how can you help me?" Mary asked.

If he really had a fix, she was ready to make some sacrifices.

Cassius suddenly leaned in and whispered in Mary's ear, "Have dinner with me tonight. I've already booked a spot. How about it?"

Mary frowned and slapped him hard across the face.

In an instant, everyone in the hall turned to look.

Mary glared at Cassius and said, "Mr. Beaumont, don't push your luck!"

Cassius was livid, never expecting Mary to slap him in front of everyone.

"You dare hit me? Bitch! You got a death wish?" Cassius roared, his eyes burning with rage.

Mary's bodyguards stepped up, forming a wall between her and Cassius, glaring at him.

"Mr. Beaumont, you're a disgrace to the pharmaceutical industry. Get out!" Mary said coldly, not even looking at him anymore.

"Fine! Just wait, you'll be begging me one day!" Cassius shouted, shot a look at the bodyguards, and stormed out of the hall.

He was definitely gonna get back at her for that slap!

Outside, he dialed a number and growled, "Get more people over here!"

Then, he glared back at Mary through the hall's glass doors, his eyes filled with icy malice.

He vowed to himself, 'Bitch! Tonight, you'll be begging for mercy!'

Inside the hall, the buzz of conversations filled the air.

"Hey, that's the chairwoman of BK Pharmaceuticals. She's really something. Guess she achieved her status through intimate relationships."

"What a shame. She's so hot, but so dirty."

"I heard her husband's a total loser, and she cheated on him. The kid isn't even his. How pathetic."

A group of people gathered, gossiping away.

Brenda, hearing this, was fuming. She stomped her feet and pouted. "Disgusting! How can they say such things? It's all lies!"

Mary shook her head, not letting it get to her.

Just then, two black Audi cars pulled up at the entrance.

A crowd of journalists swarmed over.

Sterling stepped out of the car, smiling warmly, dressed in a sharp black suit with shiny shoes.

He greeted the media before leading his crew into the hall.

As soon as he walked in, everyone stood up, eyes on him.

Sterling, the president of the Medical Association branch in Lindwood City, held the fate of all the city's pharmaceutical companies in his hands.

Various entrepreneurs rushed to greet him with flattering words.

Mary also walked over with a smile and said, "Mr. Beaumont, can we talk?"

Sterling replied, "Of course."

They moved to the side.

Mary got straight to the point. "Mr. Beaumont, is there really no room for negotiation?"

Sterling smiled and asked, "Ms. Smith, have you contacted Leander?"

Mary shook her head and said, "Mr. Beaumont, please, give us a few more days. I'll find a way to contact him, or I'll go to Sunshine Bay City myself."

Sterling thought for a moment, then shook his head and said, "I'm sorry, Ms. Smith. Leander has ordered me to revoke BK Pharmaceuticals' business license today, no matter what."

He glanced at his watch and said, "You have thirteen minutes left, Ms. Smith. Good luck."
