Chapter 149 What One Hundred Billion?

Jessica!

She found Mary and Sarah. What did she want?

William said nervously, "I'm coming back right away!"

Not wanting to waste time explaining the situation over the phone, William quickly called a cab and rushed to the hospital.

He had been drinking so he couldn't drive.

In less than ten minutes, William arrived at the hospital, quickly jumped out of the car, and headed straight for Sarah's ward.

Pushing the door open, he saw Mary chatting and laughing with a dignified and elegant woman, creating an indescribably harmonious atmosphere.

"William, you're back." Mary stood up, her face lit up by a gentle smile.

Opposite her sat Jessica.

Dressed in luxurious clothes, exuding an innate nobility, Jessica's mere presence made her seem like royalty.

Despite being in her forties, her appearance was that of a woman in her twenties. A smile at the corner of her mouth brought a spring-like warmth, making it hard for anyone to feel any dislike or fear toward her.

That was who Jessica was: a woman with an angelic appearance but a heart as venomous as a snake.

William nodded and glanced at Mary and the already sleeping Sarah before turning his gaze to Jessica.

Jessica stood up, holding a black custom-made LV bag. She turned around and smiled warmly, giving off a very gentle vibe. "William, aren't you going to introduce us?"

William's frowned. He looked at Jessica and said, "This is my wife, Mary, and this is my daughter, Sarah."

After saying that, William looked at Mary, walked up to her, and whispered in her ear, "Take good care of Sarah. I have some things to discuss with her."

Then, William's eyes turned cold as he looked at Jessica and said, "Let's talk outside."

He walked out.

Jessica turned and nodded slightly at Mary, glanced at the sleeping Sarah, and said, "I'll come to see you next time. Sarah is very cute. I hope she can be a happy little princess once she recovers."

Mary also nodded politely, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Thank you."

Then, Jessica turned and elegantly walked out of the ward.

In the hospital's lounge, eight bodyguards in black suits and sunglasses had already cleared the room, standing guard in every corner.

William stood by the window with his hands in pockets, looking out at the scenery.

Behind him, Jessica walked over and smiled. "Your father wants you to come back. He doesn't have much time left, and the Jones family needs you to take over."

Jessica's demeanor and aura were completely different from the person in the ward earlier. Though she was smiling, there was no warmth in her smile.

Mario Jones didn't have much time left.

William's heart trembled, and an enigmatic look flashed in his eyes.

"Why did you come to see Mary and Sarah?" William asked.

"Mary is your wife, and Sarah is the young lady of the Jones family. I should come on behalf of your father to see if Mary is qualified to enter the Jones family." Jessica's smile was irresistibly gentle, but William understood that Jessica's smile was dangerous.

"They are certainly qualified to enter the Jones family. I hope you don't interfere in these matters nor cause me any trouble," William said, coldly.

Jessica smiled and took out a small brocade box from her bag. Inside was a small gold bracelet. She said, "This was left to me by your sister before she passed away. She said that when you got married and had a child, you should give this small gold bracelet to the child."

William's eyebrows furrowed as he looked at the small gold bracelet in Jessica's hand.

It was his mother's.

Taking the small gold bracelet, William said coldly, "Is there anything else? If not, you should leave. You shouldn't be here."

Jessica was not in a hurry at all. On the contrary, she was very calm. She said, "Next week, there is a banquet at Cloud Peak Manor. You should bring Mary."

As she spoke, a bodyguard beside her took out a gold card invitation and respectfully handed it to William. The cover of the invitation was understated and luxurious.

William took the invitation and said coldly, "Got it."

He didn't want to accept it initially, but then he thought of Jessica, so he took it.

It wasn't the right time to fall out with Jessica yet.

Just as William was about to leave, Jessica suddenly smiled and said, "William, do you want to know what Mary and I talked about just now?"

With one sentence, the atmosphere suddenly turned cold.

William turned around angrily, his fists clenched, and charged straight at Jessica. However, the eight bodyguards around Jessica immediately formed a tight guard, blocking William's path and stopping him in his tracks.

"Get out!" William roared, his eyes blazing with anger.

But the bodyguards just lowered their heads, not budging an inch. In their eyes, Jessica was the master. William was just the young master of the Jones family, not yet the head, and had no authority to command them.

"Mr. Jones, sorry, we have our duties," the head bodyguard said.

William's brows furrowed tightly, and he kicked the man hard, saying coldly, "You're really asking for it!"

Jessica smiled, turned around, put on her sunglasses, and left with her entourage.

William stood by the window in the lounge area, watching Jessica get into a Rolls-Royce at the hospital entrance, with three black Mercedes S-Class cars in front and behind, slowly driving out of the hospital.

Jessica was a woman who exuded an invincible aura wherever she went. The scene just now could be seen as a warning or provocation from Jessica to William.

So what if he was the heir to the Jones family? William had not yet fully inherited the family, and in Jessica's eyes, he was just a fledgling bird.

"William, what's wrong?"

At that moment, Mary walked over, arms crossed, her face full of concern.

William composed himself, turned around with a smile, and said, "Nothing, did Sarah behave today?"

As he spoke, William brushed past Mary, wanting to check on the ward, but Mary grabbed William's arm, her eyes flickering. She looked at him intently and asked, "Tell me, who is Jessica?"

William was speechless, and the two stared at each other.

After a while, William said, "Mary, I don't want to lie to you. She's a relative from my family who happened to come to Lindwood City for business. She heard about me and came to visit."

Mary frowned, looked at William suspiciously for a few moments, then let go of his arm and nodded. "Got it, go check on Sarah."

"Don't worry, it's nothing." William touched Mary's smooth cheek and turned to leave.

Meanwhile, Mary sat alone in the lounge area, lost in thought.

After a while, she took out a business card from her pocket. The card had a cloud printed on the back, made of pure gold, with "Miller" printed on the front. It looked prestigious and grand.

Such a gold card was clearly not something from an ordinary family.

Jessica had said that if Mary wanted to know about William, she could find her anytime.

All she had to do was take this card to any store in Lindwood City with the Miller name.

Mary couldn't understand what William was hiding.

Making up her mind, she got up and went into the ward.

It was a sleepless night.

William and Mary laid on a bed in the ward, back to back, both wide awake.

The next morning, William received a call from Elbert, who sounded unusually excited and thrilled.

"William, am I dreaming? This morning, someone told me I became the chairman of a company."

William walked out of the ward, just in time to see Mary brushing her teeth in the bathroom, wearing a pair of shorts. Her round, perky backside made William feel a rush of heat early in the morning.

William quickly closed the door for her, walked out of the ward, and went to the hospital's garden, saying, "What they said should be true."

"Wasn't I dreaming last night?" Elbert was very excited and shocked.

Elbert then remembered what happened the previous night. He had broken up with Lisa and unexpectedly acquired a company, becoming an instant billionaire.

And all of that had happened with one phone call from William.

"It wasn't a dream, it's real. Just focus on being a billionaire, and learn the ropes when you have time. After all, it's your company now." William sat on a bench and smiled.

After his excitement died down, Elbert fell into deep thought and asked, "William, tell me, how did you do it? Are you hiding something from me?"

William thought for a moment and said, "Actually, my family is very powerful and wealthy, like top-tier rich. I just never told you. We can talk more when we have time, but you must keep this a secret, especially from Mary and Sarah, understand?"

Elbert, in his rental apartment, was already confused and full of questions, exclaiming, "So you're super rich?"

William laughed, "Not really. I have a card with a hundred billion as spending money, and my family controls about seventy percent of the world's wealth."

To put Elbert at ease, William decided to come clean.

But suddenly, he heard a sweet and soft voice behind him.

"William, what are you talking about, a hundred billion?"

He turned around quickly to see Mary already dressed in a professional black skirt.

Mary had light makeup on and a puzzled look on her face. She was holding breakfast. She walked toward the stunned William and asked, "And what was that about seventy percent of the world's wealth?"
