Chapter 133 Tremble! The Turner Family!
Upon hearing William say this, Roy instinctively let out a cold laugh, "What a joke?"
"Ten minutes to bankrupt the Turner family?"
"William, do you know the value of the Turner's assets? Two billion dollars!"
Roy laughed coldly, his eyes revealing his disdain for William, and said, "Do you think you can bankrupt the Turner family with just a phone call? You're too naive."
Roy shook his head, suddenly felt that his worries were unnecessary. William might be good at fighting, but did he really have the means and ability to bankrupt someone just like that? Was he getting old? Was he actually scared by William?
However, William just smiled calmly and said, "Since you don't believe me, we have to leave it alone. Now let's turn to Andy. He's Wade's father, and he is accountable for not disciplining Wade properly."
With that, William made a call to George and said, "The plan is changed. I want to bankrupt the Turner family's assets one by one, starting with Andy."
On the other end of the line, George respectfully replied, "Okay, please wait a moment. I'll handle it right away."
After hanging up the phone, the room fell silent again. Roy couldn't understand from where William got his confidence. Fine, let's wait and see.
Meanwhile, Andy was at his company, meeting with a few underworld figures in the Lindwood City. He wanted to teach William a painful lesson.
"Remember, just cripple him, don't kill him," Andy said with a sinister expression.
The underworld figures took the money and smiled, saying, "Don't worry, we've been working together for years. You'll be satisfied."
Andy nodded, his eyelids twitching uncontrollably.
At that moment, a female secretary rushed in, panicked, and shouted, "Boss, something big has happened. All our overseas trade partners have cut off supplies, and our eight domestic branches just received notices from suppliers that they are cutting off supplies too. They also received a notice from the tax authorities saying our taxes have issues, and our company has been sealed. The finance department and all the books have been taken by the tax authorities."
The secretary was visibly flustered. So many major issues had arisen in the company all at once. Each one was enough to push the company to the brink of bankruptcy. Andy felt a shiver down his spine.
"What happened? Tell me clearly. Why did they cut off supplies? Our financial accounts were kept well, so why are we being investigated?" Andy was anxious.
Which company's finances were perfect? If this were exposed, Andy could be jailed at at least ten years.
"We don't know either. They said it was due to a public tip-off," the female secretary replied frantically.
A public tip-off? Andy jumped up from his seat, sweat dripping from his forehead, and slammed the table, saying, "It should be fine. Our books are detailed. There shouldn't be any issues. The problem now is why the domestic and overseas suppliers cut off supplies."
What a joke! His company deals in trade, especially international trade. If the supply cut off, Andy would have to spend a lot of money to find new sources, which was a question of both time and money.
The female secretary hesitated for a long time and said, "Their response was that they found new traders offering half our price."
"What? Half? There's no profit in that." Andy was shocked. At half the price, there's hardly any profit to be made. So, Andy was now very sure it was a competitor.
At this moment, Andy was in a state of chaos and quickly said, "Investigate immediately. Find out who is dealing with those suppliers. I want to know who is targeting at me."
The secretary left, and the large conference room was left with just Andy and a few underworld figures.
Realizing that Andy's business was in crisis, they stayed no longer, leaving one by one.
However, before Andy could even sit down, the same secretary rushed in again, extremely panicked.
"What is it? Speak slowly." Andy could tell something else had gone wrong.
"Boss, our downstream distributors are demanding full refunds and compensation," the secretary said, catching her breath.
"Full refunds and compensation?" Andy was agitated, breathing heavily, his face turning red. If they demanded refunds and compensation, his company would go bankrupt. That meant Ten billion dollars in assets. Gone just like that?
"Get someone to suppress it. We can't refund and compensate." Andy said viciously.
The secretary, on the verge of tears, said, "It's not possible. They've already blocked the entrances of all our branches, demanding refunds and compensation. Our goods have issues, they're all counterfeit. The Commerce Administration has already sent people to investigate."
Andy felt his heart shatter.
"Counterfeit? What's going on?" Andy was completely panicked. If this was confirmed, he wouldn't just go bankrupt, he'd go to jail.
The secretary, crying, said, "We don't know. The commerce and tax authorities are downstairs, looking for you. The security is holding them at the door."
Andy suddenly collapsed, slumping into his chair, staring blankly at the chandelier on the ceiling. They came so quickly. He didn't even know how the counterfeit goods got there. The opponent was too powerful. They were trying to destroy him completely.
Andy couldn't figure out when he had offended such a powerful rival. Without time to think, Andy quickly took out his phone and called Roy. Right now, only Roy could save him.
Soon, Roy, who was at the old house of the Smith Family, received Andy's call. The ringtone sounded like a demonic tune. Roy stared at the phone on the table for a long time, not daring to answer. It had been less than ten minutes since William said he would bankrupt Andy's company.
Could it be... Impossible.
"Roy, answer it. It must be Andy calling for help," William said calmly, taking a sip of coffee.
Roy answered the call doubtfully, and immediately heard Andy's tearful voice on the other end, "Dad, you have to save me. The company is bankrupt, and the commerce and tax authorities are after me."
Roy's heart skipped a beat, his eyes trembling as he looked at the calm-faced William. He really did what he said he would.
"Andy, what did you say?" Roy still couldn't believe it, his voice trembling.
"Dad, my company is bankrupt. They're after me, they want to take me away. You have to find a solution quickly," Andy was extremely anxious and terrified.
If he got caught, he would definitely go to jail.
At this moment, Roy was completely panicked, his eyes falling on William as he asked, "Was this really your doing?"
William nodded and said, "Yes, and this is just the beginning."
This sentence, like a thunderclap, shattered Roy's mental defenses.
Andy, on the other end of the line, naturally heard this and asked curiously and nervously, "Dad, who are you talking to? Who did this?"
Roy, with a trembling voice, said, "Andy, your company's bankruptcy was orchestrated by William."
Although Roy didn't want to believe it, the facts were right in front of him, and he had no choice but to believe. This William really did it. Who was he exactly?
With just one phone call, in less than ten minutes, Andy's company went bankrupt. Terrifying! Absolutely terrifying! Was this still that useless son-in-law of the Smith Family?
Andy was stunned by this, taking a long time to react, "Dad, how is this possible? Isn't he a loser?"
Andy couldn't believe it. He had just been discussing with others how to cripple William.
Now, his own company was bankrupt. How come it could be William's tricks?
Roy sighed and said, "He's right here with me."
With that, Roy handed the phone to William. William took it and laughed, saying, "Andy, you have a good son. This is all the Turner family's just desserts."
Andy thought for a moment and said, "William, I don't know what Wade did wrong, but since you've already crippled him, how about we end this here? For the sake of our family ties, let it go."
Andy had no choice. Someone he had always looked down on had suddenly dealt him a fatal blow. What could he do?
However, unexpectedly, William said, "If something wrong was once done, it has no way back. Enjoy your last moments of freedom."
With that, William hung up the phone and then looked coldly at Roy, saying, "I know you know a lot of people. You can start resisting now. I hope you don't disappoint me."
Roy was stunned, his heart trembling violently.
Suddenly, Roy's eyes turned cold, and he said, "William, are you really not going to spare us?"
"I won’t sleep well if the Turner family is not destroyed. Besides, this is the price you should pay," William said calmly.
Roy's face changed dramatically, but having been hrough many ups and downs over the years, he steadied himself soon, saying, "William, I have to admit, I underestimated you. But I advise you not to be too aggressive. The Turner family is not a pushover. If you want to take action against the Turner family, you should consider the price you'll have to pay."
Roy thought it through clearly. William might have some power and connections, but taking on the Turner family would exhaust all his resources and connections. There was also the possibility that he was bluffing. The bankruptcy of Andy's company might be the extent of William's capabilities.
So, Roy was very confident. In Lindwood City, apart from a few major families, no one else was capable to contend with the Turner family.
Dialing a number, Roy remained as steady as a rock, saying, "Joseph, I have a bit of a problem here. I need your help."
