Chapter 282 William Furiously Slaps Margaret
William's sudden intrusion irritated the board members.
"Who let you in? Get out! Security, throw him out!"
Evander was the first to speak, full of anger!
He had his subordinates investigate William, a mere figurehead as Mary's husband, living off her and gaining access to BK Pharmaceuticals through her connections.
Then maybe Mary wasn't much of a good character either.
However, William coldly scanned the room and shouted, "Whoever dares to make my wife kneel, I'll make sure they regret it!"
Sensing his chilling aura, the board members were all too scared to speak.
Brenda stood at the door, looking at William's tall figure, her heart skipping a beat.
She thought, 'William is so cool! So domineering, so manly! Mary is so lucky to have a husband like him!'
Mary also looked at William with a face full of grievance, holding back the urge to cry. She had almost knelt down to beg just now.
William's sudden appearance gave her a sense of safety.
"William, this is a board meeting, please leave," Mary whispered, still able to distinguish priorities.
Evander directly took the lead, slamming the table so hard that the teacups bounced, and roared, "Ms. Smith, is this the attitude your husband has towards us? Does he know what this place is? A mere assistant dares to barge into the meeting room and scold us!"
Someone shouted angrily, "A useless person who doesn't know his place, get out!"
Another demanded, "Ms. Smith, if you don't give us an explanation today, we will withdraw our investment!"
A voice echoed. "Yes, make him apologize to us immediately!"
For a moment, all the board members rose up in unison, continuously humiliating and criticizing William.
Mary, anxious, hurriedly pulled William and apologized to the board members, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'll make him leave right away."
But a cold, authoritative voice resonated in the meeting room the next moment.
"Even if all of you withdraw your investment, BK Pharmaceuticals won't collapse! With scum like you around, BK Pharmaceuticals will never have a good day!" William said indifferently, his eyes reflecting coldness.
Mary was immediately stunned, thinking, 'Did William really say that? Doesn't he know that these board members are the core of BK Pharmaceuticals' interests? If they are offended and all withdraw their investment, BK Pharmaceuticals will be finished!'
She quickly pulled William, wanting to say something, but William gave her a reassuring look and said, "Don't worry. I'll handle it."
'Can William really handle it? Isn't his control over the family assets frozen?' Mary pondered, puzzled.
The board members on the other side all sneered coldly at William's overconfident words.
Evander said coldly, "Alright, alright, a useless freeloader dares to speak such big words. I'm really looking forward to it. I want to see where you will get a new investment of three billion dollars without the Cater family's financial support!"
With that, Evander angrily left his seat, ready to leave.
The other board members also stood up one after another, throwing down their documents and saying, "We are withdrawing our investment too!"

"I'm withdrawing my investment too!"
In an instant, all the board members announced their withdrawal of investment!
This was a catastrophic event for BK Pharmaceuticals!
Mary panicked, hurriedly chasing after the board members to explain.
However, William calmly said, "I hope you won't regret it later and come back begging my wife to let you reinvest."
"Ridiculous! Let's see what a freeloader like you can do!" Evander shouted coldly, leading the group out of the meeting room.
Mary burst into tears as the board members stormed out of the meeting room, overwhelmed by immense pressure.
William walked over, hugged Mary, and comforted her, "Don't worry, honey. I'll handle it."
Mary cried sadly in William's arms, saying, "William, why did you do this? Don't you know that if they withdraw their investment, the company will be finished, and hundreds of people in the company will be affected?"
Even now, Mary was not worried about herself but about the company and its employees.
William held Mary tightly and said, "It's okay. I'm here."
Mary pushed William away, looking at him with tearful eyes, and said, "Can you really do it? Didn't they say you no longer have control over the family assets? This is three billion dollars!"
How could Mary not be anxious? All the board members withdrew their investment at once, leaving a three-billion-dollar gap, which would mean the end of BK Pharmaceuticals!
'Does William really have that much money?' Mary douted inwardly.
William gently stroked her hair and smiled warmly, saying, "Don't worry. I have friends who might be able to help."
Mary wiped her tears and asked excitedly, "Friends? What friends? Can they really help me?"
"Yes," William said with a nod. "They're my old classmates. I'll contact them in a bit."
The commotion in the meeting room had already spread throughout the company.
For a moment, everyone was on edge.
Upon learning that the board rescinded their investment due to William, they felt their resentment surge.
Someone cursed, "Damn! How can a freeloader say such things!"
Another echoed, "Exactly, that useless guy has ruined us! Our company is finished now!"
A voice complained, "I don't know what Ms. Smith was thinking, bringing that loser in and causing so much trouble!"
The entire company was abuzz with discussions, all filled with scolding and cursing William.
Even Mary was being cursed at.
When they saw William and Mary leave the meeting room and come to the office area, everyone started mocking and cursing.
Someone taunted, "Loser! You can't do anything right!"
Another demanded, "Such scum shouldn't be in our company, fire him immediately!"
A voice chimed in, "Ms. Smith, I'm resigning!"
Various opinions surfaced momentarily, with several senior staff threatening to resign to pressure Mary into firing William.
Everyone was on edge.
BK Pharmaceuticals was definitely finished, which was the consensus.
Mary also knew that the company's current difficulties were extremely severe. She wondered, 'Could William really handle it alone? Could his friend invest three billion dollars all at once?'
"Those who want to resign, go to the HR department to collect three months' salary. I won't hold anyone back or delay your future. Of course, those who stay and face the difficulties with BK Pharmaceuticals, as long as the company doesn't collapse, will receive stock dividends in the future!" Mary said, bowing and apologizing, then left the company with William.
The atmosphere in the company was too oppressive, making her not want to stay there.
Back home, Mary told Margaret and Tyler about the company's situation to prepare them mentally.
Hearing Mary's words, Margaret scolded angrily, "Mary, are you crazy? You actually listened to William? What right does he have to make decisions for you! If the company goes under, our whole family will be ruined! It's all William's fault!"
Margaret was furious, constantly scolding William, who stood silently by the side.
Mary, with a calm face, said, "I'll handle the company's matters myself. I'm telling you this to prepare you mentally. Besides, it's not William's fault. Those people were too much."
Margaret laughed angrily, her face turning pale. Pointing at William, she shouted, "What are you looking at? It's all because of you, you useless thing! Mary was also in a terrible mood. She glanced at William, thinking, 'Since I chose to trust him, I should stand by his side.'
"Mom, can you stop being unreasonable?" Mary said with disgust. "I made this decision myself. It has nothing to do with William. Besides, what does it matter to you whether William has money or not? If he has money, you treat him well. If he doesn't, you don't consider him your son-in-law? This villa was bought by William!"
Margaret, furious, pounded her chest and cursed, "You ungrateful wretch! I should never have let you marry him! This has nothing to do with our family. Let him handle it. If something goes wrong, he takes the blame. If they need to arrest someone, then arrest him!"
Mary knew telling Margaret about the meeting would cause chaos, possibly leading to William's expulsion.
"Mom, enough! This has nothing to do with William!" Mary said coldly.
Margaret, enraged, slapped Mary across the face and pointed at her nose, cursing, "Nonsense! You're still defending him? Do you even care about me and your dad? If you get arrested, what will happen to us?"
Margaret was so agitated that she lost control of her emotions.
When William saw this, his expression turned icy cold. He stepped forward and shouted angrily, "Margaret! Stop it!"
Margaret was being so unreasonable, even hitting Mary!
"Why are you yelling? This is my house, my name is on the deed. I can hit my daughter if I want, none of your business!" Margaret was completely out of control, cursing wildly.
Suddenly, a surge of anger rushed to William's head!
He couldn't hold back any longer.
With a powerful slap, he struck Margaret across the face, the sound echoing through the entire villa!
"Margaret! You're asking for it!" William roared, his eyes bloodshot with rage!
