Chapter 171 Must Be Stopped!
The doctor, with a kind and gentle expression, smiled at Mary and said, "Congratulations, you're pregnant."
She was really pregnant.
Mary and William looked at each other, and tears of joy streamed down Mary's face. She hugged William tightly and cried. "William, we're having a baby. You're going to be a dad again."
William was still a bit stunned but quickly came to his senses. He hugged Mary tightly and said with a smile, "We're having a baby. Sarah is going to have a little brother or sister."
"Doctor, thank you so much."
William let go of Mary and, with a beaming smile, shook the doctor's hand repeatedly in gratitude.
The doctor had seen many such situations, so he just smiled kindly and said, "Take good care of your wife. She isn't in good health and shouldn't overwork herself in the future."
William nodded and carefully helped Mary back to the room.
They looked at Sarah, who was sleeping soundly on the hospital bed. William held Mary's hand tightly, and all their doubts vanished in that moment.
Mary was pregnant.
They were so happy.
"William, do you think it will be a boy or a girl?"
Mary was also very excited. She leaned against William's chest, looking up at him.
"Whether it's a boy or a girl, it's our child," William said tenderly.
They spent the night in joyful surprise.
The next morning, William took Mary for an ultrasound at the hospital, and it was finally confirmed that she was pregnant.
Afterward, they shared the news with Margaret and Tyler.
"Mom, I'm pregnant," Mary said with a smile.
On the other end of the phone, Margaret was at home, trying to figure out how to promote the relationship between Mary and Isaac.
When she heard the news, Margaret was stunned. She stood up from the sofa and exclaimed, "What? You're pregnant?"
Tyler was playing with birds on the balcony. Upon hearing Margaret's surprised shout, he quickly ran over and said with smile, "Mary is pregnant?"
Margaret's face turned sour. After listening to Mary, she hung up the phone and glared at Tyler angrily. "So, are you happy that Mary is pregnant?"
"Shouldn't we be happy? Is it a boy or a girl?"
Tyler was a bit confused, not understanding what Margaret meant.
Margaret sat down angrily with her arms crossed , looking very displeased, and she said, "Tyler, if Mary is pregnant again, doesn't that mean she can't divorce William?"
Why did she suddenly get pregnant?
What should they do now? Wouldn't it mean Mary and Isaac had no chance?
Margaret was anxious.
That damn William, always messing things up.
Tyler was slightly taken aback and then said helplessly, "What are you planning now? Isn't it a good news? Now that Mary is pregnant again, don't cause any more trouble."
Margaret glared at Tyler angrily and said, "No way! We absolutely can't let them reconcile. William is not good enough for Mary. I think Isaac is much better. I need to go to the hospital to check if they're lying to me."
With that, Margaret grabbed her bag and headed to the hospital.
Meanwhile, William and Mary were still at the hospital.
"So, what did Mom say?" William asked after Mary hung up the phone.
"Just as usual. She didn't seem very happy," Mary said helplessly. Margaret was really too much.
William chuckled and took Mary back to the hospital room without saying anything.
At the same time, in the hospital, a man dressed in a black casual jacket and wearing a wide-brimmed black hat looked coldly in the direction as William and Mary had left. Then he exited the hospital and went to a secluded corner.
He took out his phone, dialed a number, and said respectfully, "I have something to report to you."
After hanging up the phone, he drove quickly, crossing the bridge, and arriving at Cloud Peak Manor.
Inside the heavily guarded Cloud Peak Manor, Jessica was tending to her flowers and plants.
The man stood five feet away respectfully and said, "Mary is pregnant."
Jessica paused in her work, her demeanor suddenly turning cold. She turned around, looked at the man, and said coldly, "Pregnant? When did it happen?"
Jessica's beautiful eyebrows furrowed tightly, and her demeanor became icy, like an ice queen, exuding immense pressure.
"This morning," the man replied with his head down.
Jessica crossed her arms and paced back and forth in the luxurious flower hall, looking very anxious.
"Get your people to bring Mary here."
Jessica said coldly, her eyes burning with anger.
How dare she carry a child of the Jones family, how audacious!
Sarah was already the limit of Jessica's tolerance for William.
Another one? Absolutely not!
"Yes." The man nodded respectfully and then slowly walked out the flower hall.
Jessica stood in the flower hall, looking up at the all-glass ceiling, surrounded by the world's most expensive flower varieties.
After a while, she dialed a number and said coldly, "Father, I'm ready to take action earlier than planned."
On the other end of the line, an elderly voice, sounding very peaceful, asked, "Jessica, what happened that you need to act earlier than planned?"
"William's wife Mary is pregnant," Jessica said, her tone filled with humility and respect.
Jessica was completely obedient to her father, Caleb Miller.
"Be careful."
That was all the voice on the other end said before hanging up.
Back at the hospital, William was just about to take Mary to work when Margaret hurriedly arrived and stopped them.
"Get out of the way!"
Margaret was very angry and pushed William aside, then pulled Mary to the side.
Mary was helpless and waved to William before following Margaret to the lounge area.
"Mom, what are you doing? What's the matter?" Mary was annoyed by Margaret's attitude towards William.
Margaret glanced at William, who hadn't followed them, and anxiously asked Mary, "Mary, tell me the truth, are you really pregnant?"
Mary smiled and said, "Yes, really."
As she spoke, she took the ultrasound report out of her bag.
Margaret snatched it anxiously, and when she saw the diagnosis, she was stunned.
She was really pregnant.
Then what should she do now? Mary's dream of marrying into a wealthy family was shattered.
"Mary, listen to me, you need to get rid of this baby. You can't keep it!"
Margaret was anxious. She pulled Mary to sit down and tried to persuade her earnestly.
Mary's eyes widened in disbelief, unable to believe that these words came from Margaret's mouth.
"Mom, what are you saying!"
Mary was angry, glaring at Margaret, completely unable to understand how she had become like this.
Margaret didn't care and said, "Are you out of your mind? You and William can't even afford to take care of Sarah, and now you're having another one. Where will you get the money to raise another child? What if it's another unhealthy one? Besides, you're so busy with the company. How can you take time off? Are you going to give up your position as chairman? I won't agree to that."
Margaret spoke decisively, "Anyway, I'm giving you an order today: this baby must be aborted! You can't have it!"
Mary was almost in tears. She stood up , stompped her foot, and exclaimed, "Can you stop being so unreasonable? This baby is mine and William's, and I have the right to decide."
Margaret immediately jumped up and slapped Mary hard, yelling, "Shut up! This baby cannot be kept. If you dare keep it, I'll sever our mother-daughter relationship. I'm telling you, I raised you, so you have to listen to me."
"To be honest, I have my eyes on Isaac. He's the only one qualified to be my son-in-law. Either you abort the baby and divorce William, or you get out of my sight!"
Margaret was furious. How could Mary be so stupid?
"Mom, why do you always look down on William? What's wrong with him? Besides, I have nothing to do with Isaac. Stop forcing me!"
Mary covered her face and shouted. Her eyes were red with tears welling up.
"Tell me what's so good about William? Is he richer or more powerful than Isaac? Isaac is the heir to the Hayes Group, worth billions. Can William compare?"
Margaret sneered and then said indifferently, "Today, I'm making it clear: the baby must be aborted."
With that, Margaret turned and left.
Mary sat in the lounge area, covering her face and crying, looking very fragile.
William, who was in the hospital room playing games with Sarah, noticed that Mary hadn't returned for a long time. He went out to look for her and found her crying alone.
"Mary, what's wrong?" William's heart was aching as he asked.
Mary wiped her tears and forced a smile. "Nothing, I'm going to work."
With that, she got up and left.
William watched Mary's back, his brow furrowed. What had Margaret done to Mary this time?
Meanwhile, after leaving the hospital, Margaret returned home. She put on sunglasses and a mask and went out again.
She went to a small alley, a pharmacy.
As soon as Margaret entered, she looked around and then asked the shop owner, "Do you have abortion pills?"
