Chapter 119: Are You Mr. Jones?

Everyone was shocked upon hearing this!

‘What does he mean? Is his presence worth eight hundred and forty thousand dollars?’ Lost in thoughts, Stanley frowned deeply. Seeing William step forward at this moment, he felt quite displeased and sneered. "William, are you an idiot? Didn't you hear what they said? Six bottles for eight hundred and forty thousand dollars. Is your presence worth that much?"

William must be trying to show off!

‘Let's see how he plans to do it.’ Stanley pondered.

Lori was also full of anger and shame. William had tried to show off several times. In the end, it wasn't just him who was embarrassed, but Lori herself as well.

"William, get out of here! This has nothing to do with you!" Lori shouted angrily with tears in her eyes.

Lori was really furious.

At this point, William, this useless guy, still wanted to show off.

William shook his head helplessly and smiled. Then he looked at the waiter and said, "I'll pay eight hundred and forty thousand dollars."

Even if Lori and Stanley didn't believe in him, William still wanted to help out. After all, they were classmates.

Was he being foolish?

Maybe a little.

The waitress raised her eyebrow. She looked William up and down, and said disdainfully, "You'll pay? Sir, please listen carefully. Six bottles of 1787 Lafite cost eight hundred and forty thousand dollars! Can you really afford it?"

It wasn't that the waitress looked down on William, but he was dressed too plainly.

Moreover, his companions were all berating him, yet he still had the courage to step forward.

Was this guy an idiot?

The people around also started mocking and pointing at William, expressing their ridicule.

"This guy is really stupid!"

"I've never seen someone so shameless, trying to show off."

"Indeed, men tend to be overwhelmed by lust. Seeing a pretty girl, he doesn't even care about his dignity."

Facing these bursts of disdains and laughter of the crowd, William remained indifferent.

He said, "Maybe I can afford it."

The waitress was about to scold him loudly when Ben turned his head and looked at William, suddenly tightening his pupils!

"Sir, please don't cause trouble, okay? Someone like you can afford to pay?" the waitress mocked.

But suddenly, a loud slap landed heavily on the waitress's face in front of everyone.

"Ben, why did you hit me?" The waitress was stunned, covering her red cheek, her eyes filled with tears and grievance.

This scene shocked everyone.

What happened?

However, the next second, everyone was even more stunned!

Ben quickly walked up to bow to William and respectfully said, "Mr. Jones, I'm sorry. She's new and doesn't recognize you. Please don't take it to heart."

Everyone gasped, looking at each other in confusion.

‘Is this a joke?’ Stanley raised an eyebrow, extremely displeased, and coldly said, "Ben, are you also being stupid? William just has some shares in a delivery company."

Stanley was upset, not expecting Ben to treat William so respectfully.

However, Ben turned his head, glared at Stanley, and scolded, "Shut up! What do you know? Mr. Jones is our..."

The words were cut off!

William interrupted Ben and said calmly, "Alright Ben. Let's just leave it at that."

Ben quickly nodded and said, "Okay, everything as Mr. Jones says."

An invisible slap fiercely hit everyone.

This reversal happened too quickly!

With William here, eight hundred and forty thousand dollars were really settled?!

Everyone was dumbfounded in disbelief.

Lori even stopped crying, staring straight at William. Then she looked at Ben and asked, "Is it really settled?"

Ben was displeased. This stupid woman still didn't believe his words, so he reiterated, "Yes, you don't need to pay."

"Thank you!" Lori kept bowing and nodding in gratitude!

But Ben said, "Lady, you should thank Mr. Jones."

‘William?’ Lori frowned. She looked at William who was playing with his phone indifferently and felt puzzled.

After thinking for a moment, she still thanked William, "William, thank you for this time. If you have time, we... we can..."

What could she do? All Lori wanted was to offer herself.

Did William save her without any ulterior motive?

William must want to possess her.

But Lori was torn between the choice of Stanley and William.

She knew Stanley well, but now she was confused about William.

‘What is William's identity? Is he really just a minor shareholder in a delivery company?’ she thought.

William calmly replied, "It's nothing. We're classmates. It's a small matter."

After saying that, William didn't wait for anyone and walked aside to take a phone call.

The crowd dispersed, and Stanley left angrily with other classmates.

Lori and Amy stayed behind, waiting for William.

"Lori, that William doesn't seem simple. That's eight hundred and forty thousand dollars! Is it real?" Amy asked, full of doubt.

Lori was also very confused. William's poor appearance and his domineering demeanor just now were hard to reconcile.

Just then, William walked over.

Lori couldn't wait and asked shyly, "William, do I not have to pay you back eight hundred and forty thousand dollars?"

William nodded and said, "Don't worry. I know the owner here. It's fine."

Lori was shocked, her eyes wide open. She asked in surprise, "You know the owner of Victory Grand Hotel?"

William nodded and said, "Yes, an old friend."

If he told Loris he was the owner, she'd be even more shocked!

With that, Lori's anxious heart finally calmed down.

So, William just knew the owner of Victory Grand Hotel. She almost thought William was really impressive.

Suddenly, Lori changed her expression and said a curt thank you before turning and leaving with Amy, swaying her hips.

William looked resigned. Lori changed her attitude too quickly.

He had helped her, after all.

But just a few steps away, Lori turned back, took out her phone, and said, "William, give me your friend's number. I need to thank him in person."

Lori suddenly thought that she must meet the owner of Victory Grand Hotel. If possible, she had to win him over.

William was stunned and asked, "Why don't you thank me?"

Lori was taken aback and said, "Didn't I just thank you?"

William sighed, thought for a moment, and gave Lori another one of his numbers.

Lori was very happy to get the number and said, "Alright, if things work out, I'll treat you to dinner."

William was puzzled, watching Lori happily sway her hips as she walked away.

‘What is Lori planning?’ he pondered.

William was about to leave too. Just as he stepped out of the hotel, Jesse ran over to personally see him off and respectfully said a few words.

William's phone rang. He took out another phone and received a text message.

It was from Lori: [Thank you for tonight. Are you free? I'd like to treat you to dinner.]

William chuckled. So this was Lori's plan.

William smiled helplessly and didn't reply.

But then, several more messages came, all from Lori.

All sorts of flirtatious words.

William sighed and replied: [Who are you?]

Lori immediately replied: [You finally responded. I'm the one who accidentally broke the wine in your hotel today. William said you were his friend, so I didn't have to pay, but I feel bad. I want to treat you to dinner and apologize in person.]

William chuckled and replied: [It's fine, no need for dinner.]

After replying, William ignored her.

Meanwhile, Lori and Amy were lingering in the parking lot. When Lori saw that the other party wasn't replying, she gave up reluctantly.

"Let's go. We seem to play the long game," Lori said.

But just then, Lori caught a glimpse of a familiar figure getting into a pink Porsche 911.

Lori was shocked and confused. She asked Amy, "Amy, doesn't that person look a lot like William?"

Amy squinted and said, "It does. Should we go check it out?"

Lori frowned and said, "Let's go to check it out."
