Chapter 423 Ten Billion Dollars for Your Life

All the buzz was about them, and the stuff people were saying was nasty.

Most of the posts were dragging in dudes Mary had been linked with before, like Matthew, Jeffery, and Isaac.

The headlines were wild: [BK Pharmaceuticals' Female Chairwoman's Messy Private Life: Is Her Daughter Sarah Really Her Husband William's?"]

And there were a plethora of creepy candid photos, even Sarah got exposed online.

Right away, a horde of internet trolls started going after Mary and BK Pharmaceuticals.

Even Sarah wasn't safe from the online hate.

She wasn't even four yet and already getting slammed with cyberbullying.

The internet was flooded with all kinds of filthy language.

Some folks even made gross memes.

William was fuming, his face red with rage.

The other side was just shameless and low.

And they had the nerve to target his daughter Sarah with such despicable tactics.

William was beyond pissed.

Brenda, in her high heels, rushed in, looking all flustered. "Ms. Smith, something bad's happened! The Medical Association branch just sent a notice that the business licenses of the new companies we set up have been revoked."

Mary snatched the paper from her hand, skimmed it, and was livid!

They were really out to destroy BK Pharmaceuticals completely!

"I'll head to the Medical Association branch to see Sterling. The PR department needs to jump on this right now," Mary declared.

With that, she spun around, her face icy, her brows knitted.

Staring at the trending topics on the screen, William tried to keep his cool and said in a low voice, "I'll handle this!"

Anyone who dared to pull this crap on Mary and Sarah was gonna pay big time!

"You?" Mary said, eyeing William suspiciously.

Then she got it and said, "You're gonna call that friend for PR?"

William raised an eyebrow, his eyes blazing with anger, and said, "Yeah."

Mary thought for a sec and said, "Alright, then I'll go to the Medical Association branch to see Sterling. Let your friend handle the online mess."

William wanted to tell Mary that the friend was him.

But he knew now wasn't the time.

The priority was to deal with the online drama.

William's eyes flashed cold as he glanced at the trending topics and commenters online. He turned around, radiating a chilling vibe, and headed to Alan's office.

Alan was busy with some underground business stuff today.

Early in the morning, Patricia had rushed in to show him the online mess.

Alan was instantly furious, his whole body radiating anger.

Sarah was definitely William's weak spot!

Whoever targeted such a young kid was doomed!

"Alan, what do we do?" Patricia asked, panicked.

Alan's face was cold and stern as he said, "Use every resource to find out who's behind this! Also, send people to today's Medical Association branch press conference to keep an eye on it!"

The whole of Lindwood City was probably gonna see a shake-up.

These people were poking the bear with William.

They were asking for it!

Meanwhile, William was on the road and had already dialed George's number.

George clearly knew about the online situation. His voice was shaky as he said, "Sir, we've found out, but the situation behind it is complicated. The person pulling the strings isn't simple."

Hearing this, William raised an eyebrow and said, "What do you mean?"

George jumped in, "Sir, the guy behind this is Garth Tovar, a big shot in the entertainment biz. He owns three film companies worth over ten billion dollars. Plus, he's got connections with top execs from famous businesses and big-name stars. Going after him means taking on half the entertainment industry, and that's gonna have some serious fallout."

William's face went ice-cold, and he snorted, "So, you're saying I should just take this?"

"No, sir. I'm saying this is a big, messy situation. I can clean up the online mess, but going after Garth is your call," George replied, trying to keep his cool.

He was sweating it because the Jones family was already in chaos.

The main family and the branch family were already butting heads.

If William went off the rails now, it could draw unwanted attention and heat from the branch family.

That would make it tough for William to get back to Skyheart Island.

Plus, taking on Garth would drag in a lot of other players, and the stakes were sky-high.

William was quiet for a moment, his eyes flashing cold, and his voice like ice. "Anyone who messes with my daughter is gonna pay big time!"

Then he said, "Give me his number!"

In no time, a number popped up on William's phone, and he was already at Alan's company.

Two rows of black-suited bodyguards were lined up at the entrance.

Alan, Patricia, and the other big shots were all standing at the door, waiting respectfully.

"Mr. Jones," they called out in unison.

William gave a slight nod and marched into the company.

A squad of bodyguards trailed him, making the employees step aside.

Meanwhile, William had already dialed the number.

Soon, a deep male voice came on the line, sounding old and puzzled, "Hello, who is this? How'd you get my private number?"

William's voice was cold, "My name is William Jones."

"So it's Mr. Jones. Didn't expect you to get my private number so fast. You're not just anybody, are you?" Garth said lazily, sipping tea made by his maid, a faint smile on his face.

Caius stood beside him, looking respectful.

William cut to the chase, "Did you leak the online info?"

Garth didn't deny it and replied calmly, "Yeah, that was me. Isn't this the same game you played last night? An eye for an eye, Mr. Jones. You should get that."

"Fine. Then let me make it clear, the Tovar family is done," William said, his voice low and seething with anger.

"What? Are you serious?" Garth said, frowning hard.

How dare William talk to him like that?

How long had it been since someone had the guts to speak to him that way?

BK Pharmaceuticals was small fry. He could crush it without breaking a sweat.

But now, William was coming at him with threats.

Where did he get the nerve?

Garth felt a bit uneasy. Finding his private number so quickly wasn't something just anyone could do.

After mulling it over, Garth said, "Mr. Jones, do you really think you can take down my family? I know you're not just anybody. Give the 2.5 billion dollars to Caius, and I'll clear the online mess about your wife and daughter. Deal?" Garth was clearly trying to shake him down.

Hearing this, William laughed coldly and said, "Since you put it that way, I'll be blunt. Ten billion dollars for your life!"
