Chapter 331 William, Who is That Friend of Yours?
William shrugged and said, "No idea, but I do know that the last person who messed with me got it bad. I warned him that if he dared to come back to Lindwood City or seek revenge on BK Pharmaceuticals, he'd end up even worse!"
Archibald shouted furiously, "Fine! Larkin, show him what happens when you go against the Henderson family! Take him down!"
Larkin, standing nearby, stepped forward with eyes gleaming with intensity. With each breath, he exuded an overwhelming aura, charging at William like an unstoppable avalanche!
Larkin sprang into action, throwing a punch with the force of a thunderous wave, aiming straight for William's chest!
Archibald sneered. In his eyes, William was already dead!
Going against him was like dancing with death!
He could even imagine William kneeling on the ground, crying and begging for mercy!
Evander, standing to the side, also sneered secretly. Though he was not fully aware of Larkin's true capabilities, he understood that anyone entrusted to stand by the side of the Henderson family head must possess exceptional fighting skills.
This trip not only resolved the issue with BK Pharmaceuticals but also avenged himself, killing two birds with one stone!
Mary, full of worry, watched Larkin attack William and couldn't help but shout, "Watch out!"
William's eyes narrowed, and he raised his hand to throw a punch!
Everyone was shocked!
A sly smile spread across Archibald's face.
But, to everyone's surprise, Larkin was pushed back several steps by William's punch before he could steady himself!
William wasn't in great shape either, retreating several steps before stabilizing himself and standing in front of Mary!
"William, are you okay?" Mary asked anxiously.
William's eyes were sharp as a sword, staring at Larkin!
Larkin shook his fist, took a deep breath, and smiled kindly. "Good! Very good! I didn't expect such a formidable young man in little Lindwood City. Truly impressive!"
He didn't continue to attack, and his aura calmed down.
William frowned, then smiled and said, "Just average. I'm flattered."
Everyone present could see that the exchange between William and Larkin ended in a draw!
Evander and Keith frowned deeply and said nothing.
Archibald was taken aback, his shock intensifying as he witnessed William withstand Larkin's punch.
He knew Larkin's strength very well, a bodyguard by his father's side, a top fighter his family had spent a fortune on for decades!
How could this be?
Archibald, furious, pointed at William and shouted, "Larkin, hurry up and break his arms and legs!"
In Archibald's eyes, William was his mortal enemy. If William didn't die, his hatred wouldn't be resolved!
Larkin didn't make another move but whispered in Archibald's ear, "Sir, this person is extraordinary. It's not suitable to act here. We need to plan carefully."
Archibald's frown deepened, but he had no other choice!
"Ms. Smith, I hope you think it over carefully. You have three days to decide. I'll be back to visit then!" Archibald remarked harshly and stormed out of the CEO's office.
Once the group left, Mary finally relaxed, collapsing onto the sofa and trembling all over.
William quickly helped her up, asking with concern, "Honey, are you okay?"
"Water. I need water," Mary said weakly.
Feeling refreshed after drinking a generous glass of water, she regained her composure and directed her focus towards William. Her gaze intensified as she inquired, "William, who are you really?"
It was terrifying!
What was that power William just displayed?
It was like a martial arts master from a movie!
William, looking calm, joked, "I'm just me. What's up?"
Mary frowned but didn't press further. She stood by the window, arms crossed, and said with a hint of resentment, "The Henderson family is coming on strong this time. We might not be able to hold out. William, is your friend still not back?"
William listened quietly and asked, "Him? He's abroad. If you need, I can contact him for you."
Mary turned around, looking seriously at William, and asked, "William, I know your family has some money and influence, and you've changed a lot, but this time, I hope you don't get involved. If things go wrong, it won't be good for the company. Besides, aren't you cut off from family funds now? Just be my husband, and I'll take care of you, okay?"
Mary was genuinely worried that William might do something drastic, making the situation uncontrollable, especially since she still didn't understand why Evander was involved with Archibald.
Moreover, Archibald's visit this time clearly had personal motives.
William had taught him a lesson last time, and Archibald, being a young master of the Henderson family from Imperial City, hadn't sought revenge until now.
It didn't make sense.
Could it be that William's identity was truly terrifying?!
Was he really more than just the young master of the Jones Group from Imperial City, as he claimed?
Mary suddenly recalled the scene at Cloud Peak Manor, the armed personnel Nicholas had brought, and the recent events at Villa No.1.
It seemed that William's family wasn't just a simple small family or group.
"You'll take care of me?" William said.
He smiled and said, "Don't worry. If it really comes to that, just let me know. My friend should be able to help."
Mary was quite adorable.
At this, Mary nodded and said, "Alright, I understand. You can go now."
William glanced at Mary's proud back, feeling very helpless. He left the office and returned to the marketing department, deep in thought.
Mary was a strong woman with her own pride, unwilling to rely on him for everything.
He didn't know how long he could keep up this lie.
A friend?
'Mary, that friend is your dear husband, me.'
William went to the restroom and dialed Bennett's number.
"Oh, Mr. Jones, I've been waiting for your call," Bennett said, his voice as cheerful and enthusiastic as ever.
"Bennett, I need you to do something. Investigate all the businesses and financial transactions of the Henderson family. See how many assets they have and estimate how much it would take to bring them down," William said calmly.
Without family support and under a ban, he could only rely on Bennett to get things done.
"Alright, I'll handle it right away," Bennett respectfully said, and then hung up the phone.
Archibald returned to the hotel, angrily smashing many things, his face so dark it could scare anyone!
"Why! Who the hell is he!" Archibald roared angrily.
Larkin stood silently to the side, watching Archibald's furious outburst without any emotional reaction and saying, "Sir, we need to investigate him. His strength is not weak. Such a young and powerful individual is likely the young master of a hidden noble family from Imperial City, out for training."
"Investigate, get to the bottom of it!" Archibald shouted, his face livid.
Then, he dialed a number, speaking in a sinister tone, "Investigate someone for me, and send a few assassins over! Immediately!"
After hanging up, his usually charming face was now sullen and cold. With a chilling smile, he murmured, "I don't believe I can't kill you!"
Mary was his obsession. Just thinking about her and William being affectionate made him want to go crazy!
Mary was his!
He had to have her himself!
Larkin shook his head helplessly, not stopping Archibald's next actions. He knew Archibald's temper; no one could stop him.
Mary finished handling company matters and was about to leave when she encountered William waiting at the entrance.
She asked, "William, what are you doing here? Weren't you going to the hospital?"
William smiled ingratiatingly and said, "I was waiting for you. Actually, I have something to tell you."
Mary raised an eyebrow, crossed her arms, and linked her arm with William's, saying, "Let's go. Talk as we walk."
William scratched the back of his head, awkwardly smiling and saying, "What if I told you I could help solve the Henderson family crisis? Would you believe me?"
Mary raised an eyebrow and laughed. "Alright, I get it. Thank you, but this time, I'll handle it myself."
With that, she opened the car door, ready to get in.
She knew William was trying to comfort her. She was well aware of the company's situation and who could help her.
William, feeling helpless and realizing that Mary didn't believe him, shrugged dejectedly. He was just about to call out to her when an unexpected turn of events unfolded before their eyes.
A speeding van suddenly braked hard, stopping behind Mary and blocking William's view!
"Ah! Let go of me! Help!" Mary screamed.
In the next second, she was forcibly dragged into the van by three masked men in black suits!
