Chapter 115: Pink Porsche 911

"Actually what? Are you trying to say you're rich?" Amy retorted, clearly annoyed.

William was just too disrespectful to Stanley.

Stanley still held a faint smile, but his dissatisfaction was growing strong inside.

Stanley gave him a chance. Instead of being grateful, William turned it down.

‘With his status, how dare him? In the end, William is just a loser!’ Stanley pondered.

"William, I advise you to think it over and discuss it with Mary. If you need anything in the future, just come to the company and find me. I'll help you out." Stanley patted his hands, pulled out a business card from his pocket, and tossed it to William unceremoniously, as if he were giving charity.

"Alright, we've had enough fun. Let's go to Victory Grand Hotel for dinner." Stanley said with a smile, not caring at all about William.

Everyone stood up, feeling helpless towards William. They cast disdainful and scornful looks at him.

‘What an idiot! William is really dumb to the core. He doesn’t know how to cherish such a good opportunity. He would never amount to anything in his life. I should distance myself from William from now on.’ Everyone was lost in thoughts.

William felt helpless, being the last to stand up and follow along.

‘I am a magnate born with a silver spoon. Why don’t they let me finish?’ he pondered.

As soon as they stepped out, Stanley drove out in his flashy Audi R8, an expensive car in the parking lot!

As soon as he appeared, he attracted everyone's attention!

So cool!

Especially Lori and Amy, along with a few other female classmates, glued their eyes to the car!

But, the car only seats two, so the passenger seat became a hotly contested spot among the girls.

Stanley noticed the women's intentions and said with a smile, "Who wants to ride in my car?"

"Me!" Immediately, several girls eagerly rushed towards the passenger seat, even getting into a scuffle.

In the end, Stanley glanced at Lori and said, "Lori, hop in. I'll take you."

Lori felt elated, strutting in her high heels and swaying her hips as she got into the car.

Instantly, the other girls' eyes were filled with envy and jealousy.

Then, Stanley smiled and said, "Well, I'll head over first. Those of you with cars give each other a lift."

Moments later, several classmates drove their cars out of the parking lot. The best among them was a BMW driven by Walter, who had three girls with him and felt quite pleased.

Then there were the ordinary cars like Volkswagen and Buick.

Only William stood by the roadside, with no one willing to give him a ride.

Stanley, sitting in his car, looked at William with a faint smile and said, "William, didn't you drive here?"

"He doesn't have a car and walked here. Forget about him, Stanley. Let's go first and let him take a cab himself," Lori said disdainfully, eager to experience the Audi R8.

"William, don't tell me you haven't even bought a car yet?

"That's so useless. It's been three years since graduation and you still can't afford a car.

"Clearly, we're not in the same world. Life is unpredictable."

Everyone mocked one after another.

Stanley thought for a moment and nodded. Pulling out a hundred-dollar bill from his wallet, he tossed it to William like he was giving to a beggar. "Here's your cab fare. After all, I'm the host."

With that, Stanley started the car and drove off.

Then, several other cars followed suit.

The whole street echoed with their laughter and scornful voices.

William didn't mind. He didn't want to compete over something like buying a car.

Just as he was about to walk to hail a cab, a rough male voice called out from behind. "Mr. Jones, you're here too?"

Hearing this, William turned around and saw Craig's figure approaching.

Fortunately, Craig stopped in time, standing respectfully in front of William. He scratched his head with a grin. "Mr. Jones, what a coincidence!"

"Yes." William nodded, not saying much.

Craig felt uneasy. He still felt guilty about the last incident and had been looking for a chance to make amends.

He didn't expect to run into Mr. Jones today.

"Did you drive here?" William suddenly asked.

Hearing this, Craig immediately put on a fawning smile and said, "Yes, Mr. Jones. Wherever you're going, I'll personally take you."

Then, Craig led William to the parking lot.

Meanwhile, at the café entrance, Lisa was holding onto a greasy middle-aged man, about to enter.

She glanced over and saw the backs of two people.

They looked so familiar.

‘Why does it feel like William?’ Lisa wondered. ‘Especially the other figure, so burly, just like Craig! Are they together? Am I overthinking it?’

Lisa shook her head and continued to hold onto the greasy middle-aged man sweetly, entering the café without giving it much thought.

Over here, Craig led William to the parking lot and opened the car door, but William didn't get in.

"You're such a big guy, but you're driving a pink Porsche 911?!" William was stunned. Right in front of him was a pink Porsche 911!

Craig turned flushed because of embarrassment and quickly explained, "Mr. Jones, you misunderstood. This is the car of Betty, Mr. Jordan's daughter. I just took it out to run some errands."

‘Alan's daughter? Haven't seen her before,’ William thought.

Actually, Craig left out one detail. When Betty was buying the car, she had asked for his opinion.

Craig thought the pink one looked nice.

Even a burly man could have a girlish heart.

William felt helpless but got in the car.

Soon, they arrived at Victory Grand Hotel.

The car was parked in the lot, and William got out. After walking a few steps, he ran into Stanley.

Stanley and Lori were the first to arrive.

Seeing William there, Stanley looked puzzled, lost in thoughts. ‘My Audi R8 is pretty fast, and the others haven’t arrived yet. How does William get here first?’

"William, I didn't expect you to get here so quickly by cab. Took a shortcut?" Stanley said mockingly, glancing a few times at the pink Porsche 911 behind William.

‘Could it be? Probably just my imagination.’ Stanley was dumbfounded.

Lori also chimed in with a sneer, "Ran here, maybe? He was our school's long-distance champion back in the day."

Stanley chuckled.

William didn't bother to respond.

The two turned and went inside.

William waited for a bit. Craig came over, said something to William, and then left.

Just then, the other classmates arrived one by one.

"William? You got here first?" Several people expressed their confusion upon seeing William at the entrance.

William didn't have a car, so how did he get here faster than those who did?

William smiled and said, "The driver took a shortcut."

Hearing this, everyone nodded in understanding.

But Amy couldn't help but snark, "Taking a cab is not embarrassing. Why do you have to lie about it?"

Amy had long lost her earlier enthusiasm for William.

In the car, she had found out that William was a complete failure.

‘Running a company? Fake! He must have hired actors.’ Amy wondered.

Amy had shared this with a few others, and they all agreed that William had hired actors to avoid losing dignity in front of Lori.

A group of people shook their heads, laughed disdainfully, and then turned and walked away.

William just smiled. This class reunion was really boring.

A bunch of people were just trying to feel superior at his expense.

Soon, everyone was seated in a private room.

Victory Grand Hotel was a place with high prices, a famous hotel.

Eating here meant you were rich.

Many classmates had never been here before and were looking around in awe.

Normally, at a class reunion, people sit wherever they want, but today was different.

Everyone was very reserved, constantly flattering Stanley as he took the main seat. Only then did the others sit down.

As for William, he had long been forgotten and found a random spot to sit.

No one said anything about it. They all understood the situation.

Given William's status, no one wanted to cozy up to him.

Just as they sat down, Stanley snapped his fingers and called a waiter, "Bring three bottles of Romanée-Conti."

Soon, the waiter brought the wine.

"Romanée-Conti costs a thousand dollars a bottle!"

"Stanley is so rich! Truly wealthy."

"That's it. I'm sticking with Stanley from now on."

Everyone was extremely excited, their eyes burning with admiration.

Stanley smiled slightly and waved his hand. "That's nothing, just a few bottles of wine. You know, running a company and dealing with clients, you get to know a lot about wine. Romanée-Conti isn't that expensive."

Hearing this, Lori lit up her eyes. Stanley had pursued her once.

At that time, she was young and couldn't see through men, so she didn't accept.

Today, Lori regretted it deeply and was trying to find a way to get close to Stanley.

Instinctively, she glanced at William. The gap between them was too big.

She suddenly remembered that William also claimed to have started a company, but Lori didn't believe it was true, making her look down on William even more.

Just then, the private room door opened.

Jesse walked in, personally carrying a few bottles of fine wine, smiling broadly. "Ladies and gentlemen, I'm the manager here. These are some newly acquired wines from Peter's Estate."

Everyone was stunned, not understanding what was happening.

Stanley was startled. He knew Peter's Estate wines were on par with Romanée-Conti!

But he hadn't ordered them!

No matter how wealthy Stanley was, he wouldn't waste money like this.

"Sorry, we didn't order these," Stanley said with a faint smile.

Walter, sitting next to him, explained to everyone.

The group quickly realized that these bottles were worth several thousand dollars each!

"These are complimentary from the house," Jesse said with a smile, his eyes subtly glancing at William and nodding slightly in greeting.

Everyone was dumbfounded.

‘Complimentary? Is Stanley's influence that great? The manager of Victory Grand Hotel is delivering wine in person!’ They thought.

However, Stanley didn't think so. His face darkened and he frowned. He didn't know this manager.

"May I ask why you're giving us these wines?" Stanley asked.

Jesse glanced at William and smiled, "It's because..."
