Chapter 176 Pushing the Limits!
Margaret was roughly shoved into a room.
She was fuming, pointing at the two burly men in black suits at the door, and yelled, "Who are you? Let me out right now. Or I'll call the police. This is kidnapping! It's illegal!"
Margaret was so nervous that her hands couldn't stop trembling, but She knew she had to appear strong and not show any weakness.
However, the two men in black suits blocking the exit seemed unfazed by her outburst. They stood there coldly, completely unresponsive to her shoving.
Margaret started to panic. She had no idea where she was.
At that moment, a regal woman walked in, followed by seven or eight bodyguards. Just from the entourage, it was clear she was someone important.
Moreover, as soon as she appeared, the temperature in the room seemed to drop by ten degrees, making it chillingly cold.
Both her demeanor and appearance were enough to make Margaret feel ashamed of herself.
This woman was so beautiful, but also incredibly intimidating.
The aura she exuded was so terrifying that Margaret didn't dare to look directly at her, standing there trembling.
Margaret was now extremely scared—an unfamiliar environment, an unfamiliar woman, and that woman was walking towards her.
"Your name is Margaret?"
The woman spoke, her tone icy and commanding.
"Yes, I am. And you are?"
The woman suddenly slapped Margaret hard, leaving her stunned.
Did she just get hit?
"How dare you hit me? Who are you? Do we know each other?"
Margaret was furious at first, but seeing the woman's intimidating presence, she felt as insignificant as a speck before an ocean. She could only grit her teeth in frustration.
So, she could only grit her teeth in anger.
"Remember, my name is Jessica," Jessica spoke coldly.
In her eyes, Margaret was nothing more than an ant, someone she could crush with a single finger if she wanted to.
Such a vicious woman, and she was the mother-in-law of William from the Jones family?
Jessica couldn't tolerate it.
No one outside the Jones family had the right to reprimand a member of the Jones family.
"Margaret, I'm warning you, from today on, keep a low profile. If you dare to be arrogant and domineering again, I'll teach how to behave." Jessica said coldly.
William might be able to endure it, but Jessica couldn't.
Insulting William was equivalent to insulting the Jones family.
Moreover, Jessica wanted to give William a warning, and using Margaret as an example was the best move.
"Who the hell are you?"
Margaret clutched her face, her eyes full of confusion and fear.
Jessica slapped her again and said, "You don't need to know who I am. Just remember, wherever I, Jessica, am, women like you need to bow down and behave. Understand?"
"Understood," Margaret didn't dare to argue, because she was completely overwhelmed by Jessica's aura.
The saying "a wicked person will be dealt with by someone even more wicked" was true.
Margaret, who was always mean and unreasonable, had finally met her match, and one she couldn't even compare to.
In front of Jessica's cold demeanor, Margaret could not dare to even lift her head.
After Jessica left, Margaret finally breathed a sigh of relief.
But before she could catch her breath, the two burly men in black suits walked over, clenching their fists.
One punch landed directly on Margaret's eye socket.
What followed was a five-minute-long beating.
When they finally stopped, Margaret was lying on the ground, barely breathing, her face bruised and swollen.
"Stop, stop, please, please, I won't dare anymore."
Margaret begged for mercy.
Half an hour later, Margaret was dumped at the doorstep of the Smith Family's old house.
When Tyler came back and saw her, he was shocked. "Margaret, what happened to you? Who beat you?"
Tyler helped Margaret back into the house, her face full of pain.
Back at home, Tyler was busy tending to Margaret, applying ice to her swollen face.
Margaret sat angrily on the couch, getting angrier the more she thought about it.
She didn't even know Jessica, so why did Jessica hit her?
"What happened? Who hit you?"
Tyler was also very distressed, after all, she was his wife.
"Who else? It was William. Do you dare to call him back and give him a piece of your mind?"
Margaret was so furious she couldn't think. Today, she was dead set on hating William.
As Tyler heard it, he flew into a rage. He had just started to change his opinion of William, but now, he was furious that William had hit Margaret and left her looking like this.
"This is outrageous. Just wait, I'm calling him right now, and Mary must get a divorce."
When Tyler got angry, it was quite intimidating. He immediately took out his phone and called Mary, speaking in a deep voice, "Get back here right now! Your mother is in trouble."
After that, he called William and shouted furiously, "William, get back here right now."
When William and Mary returned home one after the other, the atmosphere in the house was extremely tense.
Especially when Mary and William saw Margaret's bruised face on the couch, they were both stunned.
Tyler, still fuming, walked over to William when he arrived and slapped him hard across the face.
"William, how dare you hit Margaret? Get out of my house right now, and you and Mary are getting a divorce! I don't want a heartless son-in-law like you." Tyler yelled angrily.
William, who was caught in the crossfire, looked helpless and explained, "Dad, you must be mistaken. I didn't hit her."
Margaret didn't expect Tyler to be so manly that he hit William. She felt a twisted sense of satisfaction, sitting on the couch with an ice pack, smirking coldly.
"It was you. At the hospital today, don't try to deny it! Everyone had seen it," Margaret said viciously.
She hoped Tyler would stay angry. If he could break up Mary and William, that would be even better.
Tyler glared at William in anger. He pointed to the door and shoved him hard. "Get out of here right now. There's no place for you in this house."
William was at a loss for words, looking at the smug Margaret on the couch, he understood what was happening.
This was a setup.
When Mary saw the injuries on Margaret's face, she frowned deeply.
The injuries were severe that Margaret's face was swollen.
Although Margaret was unreasonable, it wouldn't justify such a harsh beating.
Could it be that William found out about what happened in the morning?
But he shouldn't have reacted like this, after all, she was his mother-in-law. It was too harsh.
"William, why did you hit Mom? Apologize right now!"
Mary was very frustrated. There were so many issues at the company, and now the house was in chaos too.
As Margaret saw Mary was angry, she immediately added fuel to the fire, "It was him! I can't have a son-in-law like this. Mary, you must get a divorce. This is domestic violence! What will you do in the future? What about the baby in your belly?"
William, with a pained expression, explained, "Mary, I really didn't do it. I didn't hit her."
Margaret immediately stood up, threw down the ice pack, and pointed at William, cursing, "It was you! Stop denying it!"
William's face turned extremely dark, "Margaret, I'm warning you, if you keep making baseless accusations, I will deal with you."
The room fell silent.
William's face was full of anger when he spoke, which reminded Margaret of Jessica.
She was furious.
"William, what did you just call me? Are you threatening me now?"
Margaret's anger flared up. She pointed at William and looked at Mary. "Mary, did you hear what William just said?"
Mary, seeing William's dark expression, felt scared of him for the first time. His demeanor just now was terrifying.
She knew William was angry.
So she pulled William out of the house immediately and asked, "William, tell me, what happened? How did Mom get those injuries on her face?"
William asked with a cold expression "You don't believe me?"
Mary was taken aback. She didn't know how to respond.
"If I told you I did hit Mom today, but for a reason, what would you do?" William asked.
Mary frowned. "Did you really hit her?"
William nodded and admitted, "At the hospital, Mom was being unreasonable and hit Lucy. I stepped in to teach her a lesson, but the injuries on her face were definitely not from me."
William didn't mention Sarah, worried that Mary might fall out with Margaret in a fit of anger.
Mary sighed helplessly, holding William's hand. "William, just for my sake, apologize to Mom, okay?"
William knew that if this matter wasn't resolved today, Margaret would definitely hold a grudge. He nodded. "Alright."
They went back inside. Margaret, with an arrogant air, said, "Get out, I don't want to see you!"
Mary stepped forward and she held Margaret's hand. "Mom, William knows he was wrong. Isn't it enough if he apologizes to you?"
Margaret, feeling elated inside but still acting haughty, said, "Apologize? Fine, make him kneel and kowtow to me."
The atmosphere in the room became deathly still.
William clenched his fists in anger, his eyes cold as he stared at Margaret, and said in a deep voice, "Margaret, don't push your luck."
