Chapter 292 The Person Behind Jeffery

Algernon glanced at the sign of Sapphire Breeze Restaurant and found the door according to the private room number Quinlan had given him. He was stunned upon opening the door. What was going on here? Inside the private room, Quinlan and William were eating happily while the beautiful woman next to them sat quietly.

It looked like a reunion of old friends enjoying drinks together.

Weren't they supposed to be here to cause trouble? Where was everyone?

Algernon entered the room, pulled up a chair, lit a cigarette, kicked the dining table, and shouted, "Quinlan, is everyone here? You guys are just eating and drinking, are we going to get down to business or not?"

Algernon didn't think much of Quinlan, but after all, he was his nephew. He had often helped him out with fights and minor troubles before, which he could effortlessly handle.

But this time, Quinlan revealed that someone had broken both his legs, hospitalized him, and extorted a million dollars.

This grudge had to be settled!

Quinlan finally noticed Algernon had arrived and cried out with a mournful face, "Uncle, you're here."

Algernon frowned and scolded, "Why are you crying? You're a grown man, aren't you ashamed? Is the person here or not?"

Quinlan sniffled and kept glancing at William. Algernon slammed the table, cursing, "Why are you making faces? I asked if the person is here!"

Quinlan then pointed and said viciously, "Uncle, it's him. He's the one who broke my legs and took my million dollars!"

William had noticed Algernon early on. In William's eyes, Algernon was just a small-time guy who abused his little bit of power!

Now, Algernon was dumbfounded. He looked at Quinlan and then at the calm William, full of confusion.

He thought in disbelief, 'Is Quinlan insane? This guy broke your legs and took your million dollars, and you're here drinking with him?'

"Are you sure?" Algernon asked suspiciously.

Quinlan wheeled himself over to Algernon, stammering, "I'm sure! It's him. Don't be fooled by his age. He's ruthless. Look at my injuries and my legs. He did all this! You have to stand up for me, arrest him, lock him up for ten years or more! And make him pay a few million dollars!"

He added, "And lock that woman up for a few days too. Have her take care of me for the rest of her life!"

Hearing this, Algernon seriously scrutinized William and said sternly, "You're suspected of intentional injury and robbery. Come with me and explain everything."

"Wow, you're convicting me so quickly? Aren't you going to hear my side? You only believe your nephew's one-sided story?" William sneered.

"What's there to hear? The witness is right here. You can talk when we get inside!" Algernon didn't bother to argue with William. He pulled out a pair of shiny handcuffs from his waist and slapped them on the table, looking very imposing!

Abigail, startled, clutched William's arm, whispering, "Is everything going to be okay? Should we just return the money?"

William patted her arm reassuringly and said, "Don't worry. We're just going inside. I trust the law enforcement will be fair."

As he said this, William sent a message under the table.

"We'll talk when you're inside," Algernon sneered, standing up to handcuff William.

Once they got to the police station, it wouldn't matter what he said. Algernon thought to himself, 'Once there, I can make you say whatever I want.

Quinlan watched as William was taken from the Sapphire Breeze by Algernon and bundled into the car, a tear of joy rolling down his cheek as he clenched his fist, his voice venomous. "Let's see how you act tough now. With my uncle, you'll get what's coming to you!"

Watching William and Quinlan being taken away, Abigail stood at the entrance of Sapphire Breeze Restaurant, her expression cold.

She took out her phone, looked at her contacts, found the number, and finally made the call. "It's done," she said.

On the other end of the line, a hearty laugh quickly came through. "Good, you didn't disappoint me! Come back. I'll handle the rest myself!"

Jeffery was in a dimly lit room with a reddish hue. Hearing Abigail's news, he was so happy he almost jumped up.

In front of him was a woman with a stunning figure and red lips, wearing only a thin black lace dress and savoring fresh grapes.

The woman looked about thirty, very charismatic and seductive.

Jeffery's eyes settled on her, clearly showing his desire.

But he understood that he could never have her.

This woman was not someone he could handle.

She was Hannah Everhart, the head of the EnchantFloral Guild, and she exuded a dangerous charm.

Being with her, you had to stay alert at all times, or you wouldn't even know how you died the next second.

"Is it done?" Savannah suddenly spoke, her voice extremely sweet and soft, her glance exuding a fox-like allure.

"Next, it's my turn to take the stage," Jeffery sneered, playing with an object in his hand.

He had waited too long for this day.

"Jeffery, I have to warn you, William is not as simple as you think," Savannah said.

She stood up lightly, her red lips parting as she exhaled. "I've been watching him for so long and never found a chance to strike. You're too impatient. If this goes wrong, the boss will be unhappy."

"Savannah, since when did you become so cautious? He's just the young master of the Jones Group in New York. Maybe I was afraid of him before, but now, I don't even see him as a threat. He's just a piece of trash!" Jeffery said coldly, sipping the whiskey beside him.

Savannah stretched lazily and chuckled, saying, "I won't tell the boss about your unauthorized actions this time, but if things go south and the boss asks, be ready to face the consequences."

Jeffery sneered, "I know."

Then, he got up and hurriedly left.

It wasn't until Jeffery left that Savannah showed a cold smile. "William, who are you really, to make the boss pay so much attention to you?" she muttered.

Meanwhile, Jeffery, after leaving, couldn't wait to call Mary.

He said on the phone, "Mary, William's in trouble and has been arrested."

"What? How could that be?" Mary asked nervously.

She was in a meeting at the company when she heard the news, which made her extremely anxious. As a result, she left the meeting immediately and went downstairs.

"I don't know the details either. How about we meet at the square and talk?" Jeffery suggested.

"Okay, wait for me!" Mary said.

She couldn't think straight as her mind was filled with the news just now.

After entering the police station, William was placed alone in an interrogation room with white walls on all sides.

Quinlan was brought over by Algernon as well. After all, he needed to give a statement as the victim. As long as the facts were exaggerated a bit, William couldn't deny the charges!

If they encountered any tough resistance, Algernon had plenty of ways to make William confess!

Algernon briefly understood the situation and found that Quinlan was causing trouble first. No wonder William broke his legs, but since the matter was in his hands now, he would handle it properly!

He planned to detain William for a few days, then gather evidence, so he wasn't in a hurry to interrogate William. Instead he went to settle Quinlan first.

At this moment, a spirited and voluptuous female officer, Hannah Everhart, appeared at the door of the interrogation room.

She had planned to take a nap in the break room. Recently, there had been too many cases and incidents, and the whole team was short-handed. As the deputy captain, she had to be on the front lines.

Hannah knocked on the door of the interrogation room and asked the colleague on duty inside, "Tadhg, what did this person do? Haven't you interrogated him yet?"

She couldn't control her curiosity about criminals!

"Hannah, what brings you here?" Tadhg asked.

He quickly stood up, looking at Hannah with admiration in his eyes as he said, "Algernon brought him in and said he's suspected of intentional injury and robbery."

Hannah was the nemesis of criminals!

She was admired by all the young male officers in Lindwood City!

Coming from a wealthy family, she had become the deputy captain at a young age and graduated from a prestigious police academy!

"Intentional injury, robbery?" Hannah murmured.

Frowning, she walked into the interrogation room, glanced at the records, and looked at William, who was sitting and staring at the ceiling. "What's your name?"

Oh no, Hannah's temper was flaring up again!

Tadhg wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. Everyone here knew that Hannah had a habit of interrogating and punishing the evil!

But Algernon had specifically instructed that he would personally interrogate this person!

If Hannah intervened, he wouldn't be able to explain it.

"Hannah, Algernon said he would handle this interrogation himself," Tadhg said with a troubled expression.

Ignoring Tadhg, Hannah raised an eyebrow, sat down, and tapped the table with her fingers. "Hey, I'm asking you a question, what's your name!"

William finally snapped out of his daze, looked directly at her, and was instantly struck by her striking appearance.
