Chapter 88 I Am Susan Garcia
Reaching out for money—that was Margaret.
A shameless woman who was extremely obsessed with wealth.
William was speechless, not knowing what to say, and looked towards Mary for support.
Mary walked over, speaking coldly, "Mom, what are you doing? Even if William takes this money, it can't go to you. It's meant for Sarah's medical treatment."
Mary knew William's personality well. He must have said one million to appease Margaret.
But she hadn't expected her mother to outright ask for the money.
Margaret's face fell when she heard this and she stood up unreasonably. "I never said I wouldn't give it for Sarah's treatment. I'm just keeping this money for safekeeping. Just tell me when you need it, that's all."
Mary was furious, the money could not be given to her in any case.
In Margaret's heart, there was no place for Sarah.
Once the money was in her hands, it would take a lot of work to get it back.
Seeing Mary's reluctance, Margaret turned to William and commanded, "William, I'm asking you. Will you give me the money to keep safe?"
It was like forcing an honest man into prostitution.
William was also helpless and silently took out the card he had prepared in advance.
Ever since the incident at the bank, William had prepared this card with nine hundred thousand on it. It was originally to appease Mary, but now he had to hand it over to Margaret.
Margaret was quick on the draw and snatched it before Mary could react. She glared while saying, "That's more like it."
She then happily clutched the card, unable to let go, and shuffled into the bedroom with her plump behind, only to come out after a while.
When she returned, William and Mary had already left.
"Where are they?" Margaret asked with a cold face.
Tyler sighed helplessly, "Your temper drove them away."
Margaret pouted, muttering. "It's just a million they've lost. What's the big deal? Can't I keep it? I'm doing it for their good. If the money stays with William, who knows how he'll squander it."
Margaret looked down on William and naturally couldn't trust him with the money.
"No, you find out where George's company is. I'm going there tomorrow. William saved his life and it was only a million. He's so rich, he should at least give ten million," Margaret said, her mind made up.
She won't let this lucrative opportunity slip through her fingers.
"Find out yourself. I don't have time for your nonsense," Tyler said, his head aching as he took off his reading glasses and went straight to the bedroom.
"Tyler, what do you mean? Am I making trouble? Isn't this for our family? If you had handled Mary, you would have made her divorce William."
Margaret threw a tantrum, cursing and making a scene.
Mary got up early today because she was representing her company in formal project cooperation talks with the Loren branch.
The meeting was scheduled in the BK Pharmaceuticals conference room.
Mary planned to visit Sarah at the hospital after the cooperation talks.
She hadn't seen Sarah for two days.
Notably, Mary was able to reach Jeffrey by phone last night.
She thought Jeffery was busy.
"Director Ward, it's a pleasure to have you here, and I'm looking forward to the success of our cooperation." Mary greeted Loren's new person in charge on behalf of her company in the conference room.
There were six representatives from BK, including Larry Hall, who naturally couldn't rest easy with such significant cooperation on the line.
"Mr. Hall, Ms. Smith. I don't expect Ms. Smith to be so young and accomplished." Director Ward replied politely and both sides exchanged greetings.
The cooperation talks officially began.
"Ms. Smith, according to our hospital director's instructions, we have prepared the contract. If you take a look and there are no issues, we can sign it right away." Director Ward said.
Mary and Larry were both shocked, not expecting the other party to be so straightforward.
Did William hold this much influence?
"Director Ward, you're not joking with us, are you?" Larry asked incredulously.
This was the fastest cooperation in history and with the Loren Hospital!
Larry couldn't understand why this was happening. Was it all because of Mary?
"Rest assured, Mr. Hall. This arrangement was personally organized by our director, Mr. George. As long as Ms. Smith is here, we can sign the contract immediately." Director Ward said with a smile.
As he spoke, the secretary handed the contract to Mary and Larry. They glanced over it and found that the contract seemed tailor-made for BK, with unimaginable profits.
If they signed this contract, BK would earn at least two billion dollars more each year!
Two billion dollars—what a concept!
Larry almost fell off his chair.
"Director Ward, are you sure you're not joking with us? The terms in this contract are clearly more favorable to BK." Mary said, feeling as if she were dreaming. It was simply unbelievable.
Director Ward smiled. "Ms. Smith, we have already signed it. What else are you unsure about?"
Mary looked and saw that the contract had already been signed and stamped.
That meant as soon as Mary signed her name, the contract would be effective.
William's relationship with Charles was more complex. There must be things she didn't know.
She would have to ask William for clarification when she got back.
Lately, Mary found herself increasingly unable to see through William. He had changed too much.
Thinking about this, Mary picked up the pen and was ready to sign her name.
But at that moment!
The conference room door was pushed open!
Suddenly, eight bodyguards in black suits burst in, standing guard at the door.
Following them was a striking woman in a white Valentino strapless gown, her delicate features highlighted by a sharp nose, exuding an aura of pride and coldness.
She wore a wide pink sun hat, expensive LV crystal shoes on her feet, white silk ice yarn gloves on her hands, and a diamond necklace around her neck, all pink diamonds.
This woman radiated an air of noble elegance yet also gave off a cold and unapproachable vibe.
From the moment she appeared in the conference room, everyone's eyes were on her—she was breathtakingly beautiful!
She was even more beautiful than a celebrity!
Moreover, her figure was absolutely stunning—her slender arms carrying a red LV purse, her long and straight legs as if drawn by an artist, and her skin glowed with a snowy sheen, so delicate.
Not to mention the aura of a pampered young lady she exuded.
All the women in the conference room felt ashamed by comparison.
Only Mary's looks could compete with this woman, but she was far outmatched in terms of aura.
It was like a meeting of a royal princess and a pauper.
Everyone was stunned by the sudden appearance of a woman they didn't recognize.
"I'm sorry, but I disagree with signing this contract."
These were the first words the woman said upon entering.
Her tone was icy cold as if placing everyone in a world of ice, and invisibly, it carried an imposing pressure.
"I am Larry, the Chairman of BK Pharmaceuticals. May I ask who you are?" Larry stood up and asked with a smile, behaving like a perfect gentleman.
The woman just gave Larry a dismissive glance. "You're not qualified to know who I am."
Arrogant, haughty, proud!
This woman was so offish.
Then, under everyone's gaze, she walked up to Mary. She frowned slightly and asked in a clear, cold voice, "Are you Mary Smith?"
Mary was completely intimidated by the woman's overwhelming presence and nodded nervously, "Yes, I am. May I ask who you are?"
It was clear at a glance that this woman was not to be trifled with, decked out in designer wear, surely a wealthy heiress.
But why did this woman know her?
A loud slap landed directly on Mary's face, echoing throughout the conference room!
Mary's words were cut off by a slap from the woman before her.
Mary was bewildered, as was everyone else.
"What gives you the right to hit someone?" Larry jumped in fright, wanting to stand up for Mary.
But the woman before him just gave him a cold glance and he shivered all over.
Terrifying!
This woman was icy.
"Go back and tell William that this slap is on his behalf. He knows what to do."
Later, the woman turned and walked away with a chilling demeanor.
When she reached the conference room door, she suddenly turned back and smiled slightly at Mary. "I forgot to tell you. I am Susan Garcia."
