Chapter 238 It Was William Who Bought It

William said coldly, "Mesmerize? She's my wife!"

Joshua hadn't paid much attention to William before, but as soon as he heard this, his face twitched, and he turned to glare at William with a sinister look.

Joshua was already in a bad mood, and hearing William's words made him size him up and down with a cold sneer.

"So, you're the useless husband of Ms. Smith, huh? Not bad. I heard about you the time I came to Lindwood City. A man living off a woman."

Joshua's face was full of mockery.

So this was Mary's husband. As expected, an ordinary loser.

How could a man like this be worthy of Mary?

William shrugged and, with an indifferent attitude, said, "Sorry, The doctor said I should live off a woman for good health. Got a problem with that?"

William didn't hold back and retorted.

He could tell that this guy was up to no good.

"You!" Joshua was genuinely angry. The few men behind him also glared at William menacingly. Once Joshua gave the order, they would pounce on William and cut off his tongue.

Mary frowned slightly, gave William a sidelong glance, and chuckled, "Mr. Sanchez, don't mind him. William is my husband, and he's always straightforward. I hope it won't affect our cooperation."

Joshua snorted coldly, glared at William angrily, and said, "Fine, for your sake, I'll let it go this time!"

Joshua didn't want to make things too tense, or it would be difficult to proceed with the arrangements later.

In the large private room, only Joshua, Mary, and William were seated, with four bodyguards standing silently around them.

"Mr. Sanchez, how do you want to discuss this?" Mary was the decisive type who didn't waste time. She sat down and got straight to the point.

"Ah, Ms. Smith, there's no one else here tonight. Just call me Joshua." Joshua smiled, and while saying this, he didn't forget to give Mary's chest a few glances.

Joshua would use his life in exchange for a night with Mary.

Mary frowned slightly as she noticed Joshua's lustful gaze.

So did William, who had already put Joshua on his death list.

"So, how do you want to discuss this?" Mary asked coldly.

Joshua stood up, poured a glass of wine for Mary and another for William, and said with a smile, "How about this? Let's have dinner first, and then we'll talk about the cooperation."

It was obvious that Joshua wanted to get Mary and William drunk to facilitate his plans.

William glanced at the full glass in front of him.

Joshua indeed had bad intentions towards Mary!

Mary's smile faded a bit, and she said coldly, "Sorry, I can't drink."

She also understood that Joshua had ulterior motives.

"No problem, you have your husband here." Joshua turned and smiled at William, saying, "He can drink for you, right?"

Joshua thought, 'Trying to mess with me? I'll drink you under the table. As long as William was drunk, wouldn't Mary obediently kneel before him?'

William arched an eyebrow, looking at Joshua like he was an idiot, and replied, "Are you sure you want to drink with me?"

"What, are you scared?" Joshua sneered, full of mockery.

Mary regretted attending this dinner. She lightly kicked William under the table, signaling him with her eyes to think it through.

"Are you a man or not? Drink this up if you are."

Joshua was good at reading people and inciting them.

William felt underestimated.

He stood up with his glass and shouted, "It's just some drink. I'm in. "

At this moment, William looked like a gullible idiot, holding up his glass, ready to drink it up!

This delighted Joshua. He had planned to deal with William, but he didn't expect it to be so easy.

Next, all he needed was to get William drunk. Once William was down, his plan could proceed smoothly!

Mary would be his!

Mary was anxious, her eyebrows tightly knit, constantly giving William signals, but he didn't look at her at all.

What was wrong with William? Couldn't he see that Joshua wanted to get him drunk?

Mary was worried but couldn't speak out to stop it, so she kept signaling to William.

Joshua raised his glass and took a gulp with William.

Joshua drank it up in one go!

"Ha ha, great! Today, we're friends."

Joshua gave a wide, phony laugh and poured another full glass for William.

William looked at the full glass in front of him and smiled faintly. Actually, it was as easy as pie for him to win in a drinking contest. He was trained for this.

"Come on, bro, this one's on me!" Joshua raised his glass and downed it.

Joshua was a veteran in the business circle, so he had attended countless dinners and developed a strong tolerance. A few bottles of wine were nothing to him!

Moreover, at the Majestic Grand, he had already arranged for his men, so he wasn't worried about Mary escaping tonight!

"Cheers! I'm sorry for my rude words earlier."

William wasn't stupid; he was drinking with Joshua to ease his suspicions.

Mary, sitting beside them, was not feeling well. She was extremely anxious, constantly kicking William under the table, but William ignored her and kept drinking with Joshua.

Mary, getting more anxious, gave a harder kick, but William seemed unfazed. After downing a glass, he shouted, "Cheers," sat down, and placed a big hand on Mary's thigh under the table, signaling her not to worry.

She glared at William angrily, her pink lips mumbling as if to speak. This mature yet annoyed expression made Joshua feel like he was being eaten alive by ants!

All he wanted was to push Mary down right then and there!

Thinking of this, Joshua felt a surge of anger!

Such a perfect woman. How could she be married to a loser!

Joshua's face darkened. He glared at William and thought, "Competing with me for a woman? Mary will be mine in a miniute."

Joshua picked up a bottle of wine and poured another full glass for William. "Come on, let's get drunk tonight!"

"Sure thing." William raised his glass to meet his.

For the next half hour, William and Joshua had been drinking without a sign to stop, as if they were drinking water. Seven empty bottles of wine were placed on the table!

This really scared Mary!

Were they really drinking?

Joshua, holding his glass, was now red-faced and dizzy.

He only felt a burning pain in his stomach. If he drank another glass, he feared he would get a stomach ulcer!

Looking at William, he seemed completely fine!

Joshua, unwilling to admit defeat, staggered, patted William on the shoulder, and laughed, "Great, let's continue!"

With this glass, Joshua collapsed to the ground, vomiting uncontrollably!

Joshua felt his stomach burning like it was being cut with a knife.

Holding his stomach, he cried out in pain, "Take me to the hospital!"

The nearby bodyguards rushed over and dragged the pale and wailing Joshua out of the private room.

William's eyes were full of disdain. He thought, 'Compete with me in drinking? I'll drink you to death!'

Then, William couldn't stop smiling, making Mary look at him as if he was a monster.

"William, are you out of your mind from drinking?" Mary asked worriedly.

William smiled and said, "No worries, I can handle it. This is nothing."

In fact, William's stomach didn't feel great either. "Let's go home."

Mary helped William out of the private room and drove back to the villa.

Margaret had had a long day. Seeing Mary helping a half-drunk William back, she hurriedly asked, "What happened?"

"He's drunk," Mary replied.

They helped William into the room. Mary wiped him down and changed his clothes. After taking care of him, she went downstairs.

"Hey, Mary, come here. I need to talk to you." Margaret, in the living room, pulled Mary to the sofa.

"What? What happened?" Mary asked.

"I've been thinking, can we add your dad's and my name to the villa's deed? And can we remove William's name? This is our family's property; it shouldn't fall into an outsider's hands," Margaret said anxiously and nervously.

Mary was stunned, her face immediately turning cold, "Mom, what are you thinking? I didn't pay for this villa; it was William who bought it."
