Chapter 206 The Hayes Family's Backer!
The guys in front of Kyle looked at him with blank stares, not in any rush to take him away.
"Madam, you gotta help me, or I'm done for," Kyle pleaded anxiously.
Meanwhile, a white Bentley sped down a main road in Lindwood City, heading to the Marriott Hotel. Inside, a woman could be seen through the window, talking on the phone with a slightly annoyed look.
"I know, your son is such an idiot. Why did he mess with him for no reason?" she said, clearly frustrated.
Kyle didn't dare respond for a while. To him, this woman had immense power and influence. But now, he could tell she didn't want to cross William either. This was terrifying! Who was this William to make her so scared?
"Madam, it's my fault. Please, for my wife's sake, save Isaac, save the Hayes family," Kyle begged, tears streaming down his face as he knelt in the large room.
The woman in the car was silent for a long time before sighing. "If it weren't for my foolish sister running away to marry you, I wouldn't even acknowledge you as family!"
Kyle trembled at her words. So, all these years, she only helped the Hayes family because of her sister. To her, were they just ants?
But Kyle had no complaints. This connection made him one of the top entrepreneurs in Lindwood City. Even though Isaac's mother passed away early, this connection had kept Kyle thriving.
The Miller family in Sunshine Bay City was an untouchable peak for most people.
"Madam, I know I was wrong. Please, save Isaac, save the Hayes family!" Kyle kept knocking his head on the ground, phone in hand.
The sound of his head hitting the floor echoed through the phone to the woman in the car.
After a moment, Jessica, sitting in the car, asked, "How much can you give to save the Hayes family?"
Her cold question made Kyle break out in a sweat. How much? She was clear.
"I'm willing to give up everything I have!" Kyle banged his head hard on the ground again.
To him, Isaac was everything. Years of spoiling and indulgence were his way of making up for Isaac's mother's early death. He was just a pathetic father.
"I'll try," Jessica replied indifferently.
Just as she was about to hang up, Kyle boldly asked, "Madam, who exactly is this William? Is he..."
Kyle had a hunch.
Jessica glanced out the window and coldly said, "Skyheart Island, the Jones family." She hung up.
Kyle felt paralyzed, slumping to the ground, eyes empty. Skyheart Island, the Jones family of Skyheart Island! So, William was the heir of the Jones family.
The Jones Group in Imperial City was also part of the Jones family of Skyheart Island. Everything made sense now. Kyle had thought the Jones Group in Imperial City belonged to some prominent family named Jones, but he never dared to think of the Jones family of Skyheart Island. They were a transcendent family with endless wealth. A single word from Skyheart Island could make a small country disappear from the map.
Kyle felt utterly hopeless.
A useless son-in-law of the Smith family had suddenly become the heir of the Jones Group in Imperial City and then turned out to be a member of the Jones family of Skyheart Island. It was terrifying! Too terrifying!
Meanwhile, in the Hayes family's villa, Isaac saw everything firsthand. He was completely dumbfounded! William had such powerful means. Was he even human? Even Xavier was subdued in just one encounter! And very thoroughly too!
Isaac realized what a fool he was! William was definitely more complex than a nobody!
Isaac swore silently, 'Damn Margaret!'
'Fuck!' Isaac was furious, feeling betrayed and utterly ruined by Margaret! This was a disaster with no way out!
"William, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Please, don't hit me, don't kill me, spare me. I'm sorry!" Isaac pleaded, not caring about dignity anymore.
'Mary? No way! That's William's! Surviving is more important,' he thought.
Isaac groveled, kneeling and knocking his head on the ground in front of the camera, begging for mercy.
William stood at the hotel entrance, watching Isaac on the screen with a cold smile. "Three strikes and you're out. You've tested my patience too many times, and now you even want Mary. Sorry, but today, you and the Hayes family are done."
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I deserve to die; I was wrong to pursue Mary. Please, spare me this time. I'll leave Lindwood City and never come back," Isaac pleaded, his face bloody and eyes wide with panic.
William ignored Isaac and turned to Xavier. "Kyle should've contacted your so-called backer by now. I'm waiting to see if they're worth of my time."
Xavier, kneeling, sneered, "William, the Hayes family's backer isn't someone you can mess with! You're dead! You've messed with the Hayes family; you're going to hell!"
Just then, a white Bentley drove in. The bodyguards moved to stop it but stood in respect when they saw who was inside.
William frowned. When he saw the woman step out, his eyes narrowed, and a slight smile appeared. So, this was the Hayes family's backer.
'Good,' he thought.
Jessica, dressed in a white blazer, black shirt, white wide-leg trousers, a large hat, and light pink lace gloves, exuded an aura that made everyone step aside.
She walked gracefully towards William, with Zoe close behind.
Jessica didn't even glance at Xavier, her eyes coldly fixed on William. "Let him go."
Xavier, seeing her, laughed and broke free from the bodyguards. "Haha! William, I told you, the Hayes family's backer is someone you can't cross..."
Before he could finish, William kicked him hard, sending him flying.
Xavier writhed in pain on the ground, stunned that William still dared to act.
"Madam, kill him! This bastard captured my men and injured your nephew! You must stand up for Isaac and the Hayes family!" Xavier shouted as two bodyguards restrained him again.
Isaac, watching through the video, saw Jessica and screamed, "Aunt Jessica! Save me! I don't want to die!"
Jessica was Isaac's only hope, and the hope of the entire Hayes family.
"Slap him," Jessica said coldly, not even glancing at Xavier.
"Haha! William, you're finished!" Xavier laughed, thinking William was about to be slapped, but then he realized something was wrong.
Zoe walked up to him and slapped him hard. The crisp sound echoed, making everyone gasp. After two slaps, several of Xavier's teeth were knocked out, and his face was crooked.
"Why are you slapping me? Slap him," Xavier screamed, but the slaps didn't stop.
William finally looked at Jessica and asked calmly, "Isaac is your nephew?"
Jessica didn't deny it. "Isaac knows he was wrong. You've made the Hayes family suffer enough. There's no need to go nuclear. Isaac has the blood of the Miller family. For the sake of the Miller family, spare the Hayes family."
William coldly smiled. "Oh, are you asking me or threatening me?"
Jessica's eyes intensely fixed on William. Suddenly, she smiled charmingly, her expression cold. "Take it as you think it is."
William nodded and then asked, "Jessica, pick a side. Are you with the Miller family or the Jones family?"
