Chapter 129 William, Who Are You Really?

Mary crossed her arms, lifted her sparkling chin, and stared intently at William as she dialed Wade's number.

In fact, what she was thinking was that even if William really taught Wade a lesson, Mary wouldn't say anything because Wade had gone too far this time.

If the Turner family came to charge someone, Mary would definitely stand by William's side.

There was a prolonged silence.

Mary gave up the call, looked at William doubtfully, and said, "Alright, I'll trust you this once."

William grinned, touched her cheek, which was still a bit swollen, and asked, "Has the swelling gone down?"

Mary nodded shyly and said, "It was treated. I’m fine."

They looked at each other.

"I almost forgot the important thing," William suddenly slapped his forehead and hurriedly ran out. "Mary, I'll come back to pick you up later."

Mary's eyes were full of suspicion, completely unable to understand what William was doing.
She suddenly remembered that William had asked her yesterday if she was free.

But she had promised to have a celebration dinner with her colleagues tonight.

After hesitating for a moment, Mary called Larry to tell him the reason and declined today's celebration dinner.

Larry was a sensible person and told her they could reschedule it.

After that, Mary breathed a sigh of relief, stood at the hospital room door, and stared at the place where William had disappeared.

She was very curious about what William was going to do.

Back to William, he hurried to the French restaurant he had reserved yesterday.

The restaurant manager, upon seeing William, immediately came out to greet him and respectfully said, "Mr. Jones, you're here. Where is your wife?"

The chubby manager looked back a few times but didn't see Mary, feeling quite puzzled.

Yesterday, Mr. Jones had directly paid a deposit of thirty thousand dollars to book the entire restaurant for this night.

At first, the manager had refused, as William was dressed very plainly, looking like just an average person in the working-class.

But seeing William pay the deposit, the manager changed his mind.

This was a hidden rich scion.

William gasped and asked, "how your preparations are going now?"

The manager was very enthusiastic and personally led William to tour around tonight's main venue, by the window overlooking the beautiful lake.

"Mr. Jones, we have prepared a violin accompaniment and hired a pianist at your request. Also, as soon as your wife enters, red roses will fall from above, just like the rose petals shower overhead as you wanted. These are the freshest roses imported from abroad, and our staff have handpicked the petals and soaked them in Chanel perfume..."

The manager introduced everything enthusiastically, as William followed behind, nodding silently.

"Well done. Here's the remaining two hundred thousand dollars."

William was very pleased and handed his bank card to the manager.

The manager's face was full of smiles as he took the card and said, "Mr. Jones, please wait a moment."

After swiping the card, the manager quickly walked back and returned the card to William respectfully.

If he had any doubts before, they were all gone now.
Only a few people could afford to book the entire place for two hundred thousand dollars.
William was one of them.

So, the manager believed that this was a wealthy guest in low profile.

Such a guest must be well-served.

After William left, all the waitstaff in the restaurant had starry-eyed expressions, looking enviously at William's departing figure.

"Wow, that guy is so rich, booking our restaurant for two hundred thousand dollars. I wish I had such a low-key and wealthy boyfriend."

"I wonder which woman is so lucky to have such a man who loves her so much. I'm so jealous."

"Alright, let's get ready. There can't be any mistakes tonight," the manager said sternly, seeing the starry-eyed expressions of the waitresses.

Night fell. At the hospital entrance, one by one, Mercedes cars decorated with flowers stopped at the door. This scene instantly caught the attention of the entire hospital. Everyone gathered at the entrance, eagerly watching. Many people took out their phones to start recording videos for Facebook.

"Wow! Which rich person is this? So extravagant, so many luxury cars. Is it a proposal?"

"No idea, but this is so rich. I'm so jealous."

"I wish they were here to pick me up. This is so romantic, just like a scene from a TV drama."

Many envious nurses gathered at the hospital entrance, their eyes sparkling.

Meanwhile, Mary walked out from the crowd, with Sarah in her arms.

She had just received a call asking her to bring Sarah to the hospital entrance.

As soon as she reached the entrance, the four drivers standing neatly by the Mercedes cars bowed very gentlemanly and extended their hands, saying, "Mrs. Smith, please get in the car."

At the very moment, all eyes were on Mary. She was the leading lady.

Jealousy filled the air.

But this woman was so beautiful, and the little girl in her arms was so cute and pretty.

Mary was also startled. She glanced at the luxury cars. Without knowing anything, she got into the car under the envious eyes of the crowd.

Soon, the car stopped at the restaurant entrance. Mary got out of the car holding Sarah, her eyes dazed and filled with suspicion and confusion.

"Mom, are we here to eat?" Sarah blinked her gem-like eyes, looking very excited.

Mary didn't know how to answer.

"Hello, Mrs. Smith, please follow us."

At the entrance, the waitresses, upon seeing Mary, greeted her with a full smile and bowed, in the posture of inviting someone.

"Okay."
Mary responded, but her mind in a fog.

When she entered the restaurant and saw all the meticulous arrangements, she was completely surprised and touched.

As the violin started to perform, accompanied by the piano, that familiar song rang through the restaurant.

Mary held Sarah's hand, covering her mouth, tears falling from her cheeks like pearls. At this moment, she was so happy.

It was William. It had to be William. He remembered today was their wedding anniversary.

In the music, from the dim light, William walked out slowly in a clean, crisp suit, holding a bouquet of red roses, wearing a smile.

Kneeling on one knee, William looked up at the tearfully moved Mary, covering her mouth, and said with a happy smile, "Mary, I haven't been good enough to you these years. I made you suffer. From today on, you will be the happiest woman in the world."

Mary looked at William seriously. Her eyes were full of tears. In that instant, all her grievances disappeared. Mary cherished this moment of emotion.

"Daddy, I want one too," Sarah suddenly said.

William and Mary exchanged a smile. He took a flower from the bouquet and gave it to Sarah, saying, "Here, this is for Sarah."

Sarah happily took the flower and kissed William on the cheek.

Then, William stood up, looked at Mary, and tilted his head, raising his cheek.

Mary rolled her eyes at him and quickly kissed him on the cheek as well.

The waitresses on the side were all moved to tears. What a warm and happy scene! How wonderful it would be if this scene was for them.

However, this happy scene came to an abrupt end.

Suddenly, a figure rushed into the restaurant, heading straight for William and Mary.

Susan appeared, angrily slapped Mary’s face, pointed at her nose, and cursed viciously, "Bitch! You don't deserve this."

Saying this, Susan furiously threw the bouquet from Mary's hand to the ground and stomped on it with her high heels, crushing it.

This scene was too sudden. Everyone was shocked.

Especially the waitresses, who all widened their eyes and covered their mouths, unable to believe what they were seeing.

And among them, someone was recording a live video.

"Are you crazy?" William roared, his eyes red with anger, and slapped Susan's face.

Susan was indeed crazy.

Susan covered her face, glaring resentfully at William and Mary, and said, "William, I won't let you off. As long as I'm around, you and Mary will never live a happy life."

As she spoke, Susan glared at Mary and sneered, "Mary, you're so pathetic. To this day, you don't even know who William really is, you petty clown."

With that, Susan turned and left.

William clenched his fists, angrily staring at Susan's departing figure, and then turned to Mary.

Mary was very angry at this moment. She picked up Sarah and slapped William's face again, saying coldly, "William, I've had enough. You need to sort things out with her, or we should get a divorce."

Mary had really had enough.

She could bear a stab for William and be hospitalized, and even endure Wade's humiliation to protect William from harm.

But as a woman, what she couldn't tolerate was another woman interfering in her marriage.

Moreover, Susan had an engagement with her husband.

In a fit of anger, Mary left the restaurant with Sarah.

William stood there alone, full of anger and helplessness, kicked the flowers on the ground, and then chased after her.

"Mary, wait for me, let me explain," William shouted, chasing after Mary.

Mary stopped, turned around, and glared at William angrily, "Fine, then tell me, who are you really? Why does Susan keep telling me I don't know you? What are you hiding from me, and why can't you tell me?"
