Chapter 18  The Conspiracy of Anthony

William smiled and said, "I come to have a look."

It was indeed a surprise to bump into Matthew Anderson.

"Have a look? What are you here to see?"

Matthew Anderson spoke discontentedly, "Do you know where this is? Is this a place where someone like you can just come and look around? Get out now!"

Matthew Anderson was displeased with William.

A loser, who had stolen his goddess, and now had the nerve to show up at the Eagle Trade Showroom.

Didn't he know that his very presence was a stain on the reputation of the Eagle Trade Showroom?

William frowned slightly, replying with displeasure, "Why can't I come and have a look?"

Matthew Anderson was still oblivious to the fact that the man standing before him was the new Boss of the Eagle Trade Showroom!

This guy, looking down on him.

William found it amusing.

Matthew Anderson sneered contemptuously. "William, you really are an idiot. Do you know what kind of people are allowed into the Eagle Trade Showroom?"

"Oh, I really don't know." William responded indifferently.

Matthew Anderson, full of pride, had forgotten his original purpose for coming, and now seized the opportunity to humiliate William.

"Those who come here are all prominent figures in Lindwood City, with a net worth starting in the tens of millions,"  Matthew Anderson said with a raised eyebrow, mocking, "Someone like you, the scum of society, doesn't even qualify to stand guard at the door, do you understand?"

"I don't know why Mary would marry a loser like you. It's such a shame for her."

The scorn was merciless, full of disdain.

In Matthew Anderson's eyes, William was an ant, while he was an elephant.

He could crush him with ease.

"Oh, is that so? Are there such rules?"

Suddenly, William turned his head and asked Patricia, who was standing beside him.

It was then that Matthew Anderson noticed the stunning woman standing next to William.

This was the manager of the Eagle Trade Showroom, Patricia!

Matthew Anderson immediately put on a smile, trying to shake hands.

However, Patricia just gave him a disdainful glance and answered William's question,  "No."

This Matthew Anderson really was fearless, constantly begging to meet Mr. Jones, not realizing that Mr. Jones was right in front of him, and he was still ridiculing him.

Matthew Anderson was taken aback and asked doubtfully, "Patricia, what do you mean 'no'? Isn't this rule something that the Eagle Trade Showroom has had since its establishment?"

The rules of the Eagle Trade Showroom were set by the former Boss, Alan.

No one in Lindwood City dared to refute them.

"Oh, well, not anymore," Patricia said coldly.

Impressive!

Matthew Anderson was stunned again. What was going on today?

Patricia, the dignified manager of the Eagle Trade Showroom, was actually speaking up for a loser.

Matthew Anderson didn't know what to say, glaring at William with jealousy and disgust. "Why are you still standing here? Why don't you scram?"

He really detested William.

Patricia frowned deeply, and she was annoyed at Matthew Anderson for insulting Mr. Jones like this.

But seeing that Mr. Jones seemed to prefer a low-key approach, Patricia spoke up unhappily, "Mr. Allen, I'm very dissatisfied with your attitude. People are not to be ranked and judged superficially. This is something Mr. Jones has specifically instructed us, so the rules of the Eagle Trade Showroom have changed."

"Yes, Mr. Jones is right."

Matthew Anderson, who had been so arrogant just a second ago, was now nodding humbly.

Although he was more successful than Patricia, he wasn't as famous as her.

She was in a relationship with Alan!

And the manager of the Eagle Trade Showroom!

The Eagle Trade Showroom alone was enough to command respect.

But then, Patricia's next words struck Matthew Anderson like a bolt from the blue, turning his facesour.

"However, Mr. Allen, your behavior just now was very disappointing. Our Eagle Trade Showroom does not lend its venue to someone who judges people by their appearance. So, you might as well go back," Patricia said displeased.

Upon hearing this, Matthew Anderson exploded.

He had come to plead for a favor, and now he had dug himself into a hole.

At the same time, he was even more furious with William!

Wasn't it all because of this idiot that he lost control?

Matthew Anderson glared fiercely at William, who was smirking beside him, and lowered his stance. "Patricia, I think we can talk."

Patricia remained silent, looking contemplative.

Matthew Anderson was so anxious. "Patricia, how about this, whatever you need me to do, I can do. I just hope that Saturday's exhibition can proceed as planned, and I also hope that Patricia can speak a few kind words to Mr. Jones for me."

Patricia pretended to ponder, then, she nodded.

This made Matthew Anderson very pleased.

"Good, as long as Mr. Allen does the following, I promise that the exhibition on Saturday will continue." Patricia said with a hint of cunning in her eye.

"You say it, I'm sure I can do it." Matthew Anderson said eagerly.

"Apologize to him." Patricia pointed to William beside her.

Matthew Anderson was dumbfounded, exclaiming, "Apologize to him? Patricia, you must be joking. He's just a delivery guy!"

How could I possibly apologize to William, a good-for-nothing!

"Professions do not define one's honor or disgrace, Mr. Allen. Can't you do it?" Patricia said with a cold laugh.

Matthew Anderson hesitated, his face showing embarrassment.

William, on the other hand, was trying to hold back laughter, pretending to refuse, "There's no need, after all, he's the company's CEO. What does his apology to a nobody like me matter?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Matthew Anderson was seething with anger.

‘You still know you're a nobody.’ He brooded.

"No, Mr. Allen must apologize to you today. Mr. Jones has instructed us that in the Eagle Trade Showroom, we absolutely cannot tolerate such vulgar acts of looking down on others." Patricia said seriously, her expression not at all feigned.

Matthew Anderson panicked, sweating profusely, and he was silent for a long while.

"Since Mr. Allen doesn't intend to apologize, then I won't force it. Please, Mr. Allen, you may leave." Patricia said bluntly.

"No, I'm willing." Matthew Anderson hurriedly said.

Then, with great reluctance, he turned to William and quickly said, "I'm sorry."

"What? I didn't hear you." William shrugged.

The attitude of this apology was problematic.

It didn't pass muster.

"William!" Matthew Anderson clenched his teeth in hatred. "Don't push your luck!"

"Patricia, you see." William turned his head, pretending to be aggrieved.

Patricia snorted coldly.

Matthew Anderson immediately panicked like a frightened rabbit, biting his back teeth and said loudly, "I'm sorry!"

"It's not sincere." William shook his head.

"You!" Matthew Anderson struggled to control his emotions, his fists clenched tightly.

‘Good for you, William, daring to take advantage of others.’ He pondered.

"Since Mr. Allen is so reluctant, I think we should forget it." Patricia said timely, a chill showing in the corner of her eye.

Matthew Anderson's heart skipped a beat; he knew he had offended Patricia, which meant offending Mr. Jones of the Eagle Trade Showroom, as well as Lindwood City's Underground Emperor, Alan.

After weighing his options, he finally bowed and said earnestly to William, "I'm sorry."

William waved his hand generously. "No problem, Mr. Allen, you've had a hard time."

With that, Patricia nodded. "Very well, Mr. Allen, your attitude in admitting your mistake is commendable. I think we can talk now."

William felt satisfied inside and then left the Eagle Trade Showroom.

As he left, Matthew Anderson looked at William's retreating figure with resentment and suspicion, feeling bitter inside.

‘This nobody, could he possibly know Patricia?’ He thought anrily.

That's not likely!

Half an hour later.

After some negotiations, the exhibition continued, and Matthew Anderson left the Eagle Trade Showroom with a heavy heart.

As soon as he stepped out the door and sat in his Mercedes, he made a call, "Check William for me again, the more thoroughly the better, and as fast as possible."

After hanging up, Matthew Anderson angrily slapped the steering wheel, cursing, "Damn you, William, I'll make sure to make you pay back double for today's humiliation!"

At the same time, a shocking piece of news burst in Lindwood City!

Sunshine Bay City Hospital was opening a branch in Lindwood City!

That was a renowned hospital in the country, and the Hospital Director, Matthew, had an esteemed reputation in the international medical community, having personally treated many high-ranking officials both domestically and internationally.

Professor Matthew was sophisticated, a legendary healer!

As soon as this news came out, all the pharmaceutical companies and hospitals in Lindwood City were scrambling to negotiate cooperation with the Loren Schneider Hospital's temporary company established in Lindwood City.

In less than half a day, the company In less than half a day, the company had received numerous visitors, all of whom were seeking cooperation.”

BK Pharmaceuticals.

Chairman Larry had already given the order that the cooperation with Loren Schneider Hospital must be secured.

For this, managers from all departments of BK Pharmaceuticals were sent one after another to visit, only to be rejected.

Not just BK Pharmaceuticals, but all the enterprises that went were also turned away.

Inside the meeting room, Larry sat in the Chairman's seat, looking at his frazzled employees. "This cooperation with Loren Schneider is a must for us, it's a great opportunity for our company! An opportunity like this, I don't want it to be snatched away by our competitors."

"Larry, we are so tired, and we haven't even seen the Person in Charge of Loren Schneider."

"Yeah, Loren Schneider is too arrogant. I've seen more than a dozen companies return dejectedly."

"I think they're just stringing everyone along, trying to gain more benefits."

Seeing everyone's dejected look, Larry slammed the table and shouted angrily, "You're giving up after just half a day? Even if you run to death, even if you talk your mouths off, you have to secure this cooperation."

The people remained silent; it was really tough.

Sunshine Bay City Hospital, in Sunshine Bay City, and even in the country, was a well-known hospital. Their status was clear.

It was like dealing with a high and mighty emperor.

"This time we need to send a representative to meet with the Person in Charge of Loren Schneider."

Larry said, "Of course, this task is arduous, and I hope someone will volunteer."

Everyone looked at each other, remaining silent.

Right at this moment, Anthony gave a look to Donna beside him, who immediately understood.

"Larry, I think it would be most appropriate for Miss Smith to represent our company," Donna suddenly suggested.

Her suggestion was followed by others saying

"Yes, Miss Smith is attractive and articulate, a good choice indeed."

"Moreover, Miss Smith is the goddess of wealth for our marketing department. She secured the cooperation with Sunshine Pharmaceuticals last time; she can definitely do it again."

"Most importantly, Miss Smith surely needs this opportunity, doesn't she have a daughter? I think we should let Miss Smith go."

Mary's eyes darted around; she knew the importance of this cooperation and also had little confidence in herself.

Just as she was about to decline, Larry claimed, "Well, since everyone has elected Miss Smith, then Miss Smith will represent our company for this task. Strive to secure this cooperation."

With no other option, Mary could only agree reluctantly.

Seeing Mary agree, Anthony sitting diagonally across from her couldn't hide his sneer.

After the meeting, Anthony came to Mary's office, looking at her with a heavy heart, "Miss Smith, you must give it your all for this cooperation with Loren Schneider. As far as I know, this contract involves thirty million, and if you secure it, the commission is at least one million! With that, your daughter's illness won't be a worry anymore."

A commission of one million, and her daughter's illness.

Mary was tempted.

Anthony didn't stay any longer, leaving after his remark.

That night, at a certain entertainment club.

Anthony, flanked by two voluptuous women, was sitting across from a man in his forties.

Patrick, the Person in Charge, was sent by Loren Schneider Hospital to Lindwood City.

"Patrick, what do you think of this woman?" Anthony said with a smile.

The man opposite him, holding a photo, looked at it for a long time before reluctantly putting it down, leering, "Mary, quite a flavorful woman."

Anthony frowned momentarily, then relaxed, understanding what Patrick was thinking.

Mary was a beauty with a great figure, a woman who was the epitome of sexiness.

He had been coveting Mary for a long time.

"Patrick, this woman has a useless husband and a daughter with a heart condition; she's desperate for money. This cooperation is a lifeline for her." Anthony said with a sneer, "If we play our cards right, this woman will obediently crawl into bed, waiting for you."

"You little rascal, well done!" Patrick laughed and cursed, "Once I've had my fun, you'll get your share, I know you're interested in her."

‘Mary, just you wait!’ He thought.
