Chapter 219 You Should Die!
Mary was rushing back to the hospital from work when Nancy called.
"What's up with William?"
She smiled and hailed a cab.
"Mary, why would I lie? Come to Sunset Manor and see for yourself!"
Nancy was impatient, watching William and Susan enter the inner hall together.
What was he doing with the White family's daughter? Is this the same timid William?
"Sunset Manor? What's he doing there?" Mary checked the time. It was late.
"Mary, hold on."
Nancy recorded a video of William and Susan. Susan shyly hooked arms with him, leaning on his shoulder happily. However, Nancy didn't record him pushing Susan away and sent the video to Mary.
Mary's face changed when she saw the video. It was really William, and the woman next to him was Susan. Her heart sank.
Did William go to see his ex-fiancée? Any woman would feel awful seeing that video. Nancy was stirring trouble.
"Mary, did you see that? He's cheating on you with a rich girl!" Nancy called back, cursing.
Mary's voice was hoarse. "Alright, I got it." She hung up and sat alone in the cab, crying as she looked out the window.
She wanted to believe in William, but her heart was in pain. She kept telling herself not to overthink and to trust him.
Mary scrolled through her contacts. Normally, she would've called him immediately, but she believed he had his reasons. He was her husband; the only person she could trust.
Taking a deep breath, she told the driver, "Please hurry; my daughter is waiting for me at the hospital."
She chose to trust William and didn't go to Sunset Manor. She decided to pretend she hadn't seen anything.
Meanwhile, William and Susan were in the inner hall.
"William, divorce Mary and come back to me. I love you."
Susan hugged William tightly. He felt helpless, knowing this would happen tonight.
Pulling her hands away, he said, "Susan, I'm sorry, but it's impossible. I love Mary; she's my wife. Let the past be the past."
"No! Why do you get to be happy, and I don't?" Susan cried, showing him her chest scar. However, he remained unmoved.
"Susan, listen..."
William was troubled. He didn't want to hurt her, but he had no choice.
"I don't want to hear it!" Susan screamed, "It's all because of her! If it weren't for her, would you have loved me?"
His gaze turned cold. "What are you planning?"
Susan wiped her tears and turned cold. "If I can't have you, no one can! I won't hurt you, but not Mary and your daughter. Anyone in my way will die!"
William's eyes turned icy. He grabbed her wrist tightly. "Susan, if you harm them, I won't let you off. Even the White family will pay."
Her eyes flashed with determination, laughing coldly. "William, when will you ever worry about me like this?"
He immediately pushed her hand away. "Don't push it!" he snapped, turning to leave.
However, she sneered. "Do you know why I asked you to come tonight?"
"What do you mean?" His eyes narrowed as he turned back to face her.
At that moment, William's phone rang. It was a call he had been expecting.
"Tell me," he said coldly, his whole body tense.
"Mr. Jones, Mary and Sarah are fine. We just had a run-in with some thugs," said a cold male voice on the other end. "It seemed like they were trying to kidnap Mary at the hospital."
"Okay," William replied, hanging up. His cold eyes fixed on Susan. "Did you send those people?"
Susan knew her plan had failed; she only wanted to scare Mary. Raising her chin proudly, she said, "Yes, I wanted her to feel my pain. I hate her, and I hate you too!"
William slapped her hard, angry. "Susan, don't push me!"
Susan had crossed the line. Why must she do this? William's heart was filled with rage. For those who crossed the line, even if it was Susan, he wouldn't hesitate to eliminate them.
"Push you? Haven't you been pushing me too?" Susan covered her face, tearing up.
William didn't want to be entangled with her any longer. "This is the last time! I'll notify the White family to take you back!" he warned sternly before leaving the banquet hall.
Susan stood alone, squatting down and covering her face, crying.
A middle-aged man in a white suit walked in, shaking his head. "Susan, why do you put yourself through this?" he asked.
It was Stanley White, the head of the White family in Imperial City. Seeing Susan so heartbroken pained him deeply as a father. But in front of William, he couldn't resist. Even the White family, the top family in Imperial City, was like an ant compared to William. They had risen to prominence thanks to his support. Stanley couldn't let the family face destruction because of Susan's antics.
"Come back with me tomorrow," He said helplessly.
Meanwhile, William hurried back to the hospital and saw Mary by Sarah's side, both safe and sound. They lay warmly on the bed, calming his heart. He quietly sat by the bedside, looking at the sleeping two.
"I'm sorry I was late," He whispered, conflicted and filled with mixed emotions. He just wanted to protect them. Seven years had passed, and he had forgotten many things. To protect them, he had never revealed his true identity. Although he endured three years of being called a loser, he never said a word.
"Just wait a little longer. Soon, I'll take you and Sarah home," He said, kissing Mary's forehead and Sarah's little face. Then, he left the room, heading to a corner at the hospital entrance.
After a while, a figure emerged from the darkness, looking lazy and casual. "Mr. Jones, why don't you tell Mary your true identity?" the figure asked.
William lit a cigarette, handing one to the man as he said, "I know what I'm doing. Keep an eye on the Gonzalez family in Sunshine Bay City for the next few days."
The other party nodded, exhaled a puff of smoke, and suddenly became emotional. "For seven years, I've been looking forward to this day. Mr. Jones, when do you plan to take action against the Miller family?"
