Chapter 174 Furious
Lucy was anxious as William pulled her along. She said, "William, let it go. I'm fine. After all, she's your mother-in-law. If you two argue because of me, I'll feel bad."
Although Lucy felt very wronged, she still knew the importance of the situation.
After all, Margaret was William's mother-in-law. If they fell out because of her, she would definitely feel guilty.
She was just a child from a poor family. Her parents had told her to endure when outside and not to get into conflicts with others.
Moreover, William was so good to her, so she couldn't let him get into difficult position.
"It's okay. Listen to me this time. Even though she's my mother-in-law, she can't be so unreasonable."
William comforted her. Although he could endure Margaret for three years for Mary's sake, he couldn't back down on this issue.
Margaret had already become so unreasonable and vicious that William couldn't let it continue unchecked.
Soon, William bumped into Margaret as she was leaving the hospital room, wearing a smug smile, carrying her purse, and shouting at the crowd of onlookers.
It was as if the hospital belonged to her.
"What are you looking at? My daughter is the chairman of BK Pharmaceuticals. What can you do to me?"
Margaret scolded the patients' families arrogantly, acting as if whoever shouted louder was in the right.
After cursing, Margaret turned to leave, but she ran into William, who was leading Lucy back.
Margaret became even angrier as she saw Lucy. She rushed over and pointed at Lucy behind William, cursing, "You little bitch, how dare you come back? I'll beat you up."
Margaret raised her hand to hit as she were cursing.
Lucy was so frightened that she hid behind William. Her big eyes was watery. Lucy shrinked her head and shouted, "What right do you have to hit me?"
"Getting bold, aren't you? Do you think just because you're holding onto this loser, I won't dare to hit you? In my house, he's just a loser and has to listen to me."
Margaret pointed at William's nose arrogantly and cursed, not putting him in her eyes at all.
Standing in front of Lucy, William directly reached out and blocked Margaret's swinging hand, his face stern. "Margaret, shut up!"
"William, are you crazy? How dare you talk to me like that? Get out of my way!" Margaret cursed angrily.
Who did William think he was?
He was just a useless son-in-law of the Smith Family.
"Apologize to Lucy. She's the nurse I hired," William said coldly.
"William, have you forgotten your place? What do you mean you hired her? In this house, I'm the master. You're just my son-in-law. What right do you have to talk to me like that? Are you looking for a beating?"
Margaret said harshly and raised her hand to slap him.
It was too sudden.
'This loser, today I'll beat him in front of everyone to let him know who the real master of the house is!' Margaret thought to herself.
As William saw Margaret's slap coming, he didn't dodge, but Lucy behind him stepped forward and took the slap for him.
The crisp sound of the slap echoed in the hospital corridor.
Lucy covered her face. Her cheeks turned red and her eyes were filled with tears. She said with grievance, "William, let's go."
William's face turned cold, anger rising in his heart. Margaret was too unreasonable.
Having such a mother-in-law was truly bad luck.
Today, he had to make Margaret apologize to Lucy.
Margaret laughed inwardly, her eyebrows furrowing as she started to suspect.
'Could it be that William and Lucy had any special relationship in private?'
She had to remind Mary about it.
These two must have some other relationship.
At this moment, the surrounding onlookers started discussing again.
"This woman is too domineering. If it were me, I'd beat her up."
"It makes me so angry."
"Don't be afraid, we'll back you up. Your mother-in-law is too vicious."
As Margaret heard the discussions around her, her face changed slightly and she was eager to leave.
"Get out of my way, don't you understand my words?" Margaret raised her hand again in a hurry.
Just as the slap was about to fall, William's hand suddenly grabbed it tightly.
"William, what are you doing?" Margaret said coldly.
William's face was as cold as ice, and there were flames dancing in his eyes. He said, "Margaret, I'm warning you. Don't think that just because you're Mary's mom, you can act so recklessly. Apologize to Lucy!"
"Apologize to her? Are you crazy? You're a loser in my eyes too. What right do you have to talk to me like this? Let go of me!"
Margaret was so angry that her teeth were grinding. How dare William be so disrespectful to her?
She would definitely tell Mary about it when they got home and make her divorce him.
Otherwise, it was either her or him in this house.
William let go of Margaret's hand and said coldly, "This is your fault. Lucy is the nurse I hired. You hit her for no reason, so you have to take responsibility. If you don't want to, you can leave now, but I will call the police."
As Margaret heard that he would call the police, she was scared.
"You really infuriate me! You loser, how dare you threaten me?"
Margaret pointed at William angrily. She had thought he was a useless person who couldn't cause any trouble, but she didn't expect him to be so tough.
If the police got involved, she would definitely be in trouble.
Apologize?
Impossible!
Margaret started to throw a tantrum and shouted unreasonably, "Why should I apologize? Did you ask her why she got hit? Today, I'm going to beat this little bitch up!"
"Then tell me why."
William looked at Margaret coldly, waiting for her to continue making up lies.
"She was disrespectful to me in the ward, cursed at me, and I saw her hit Sarah and pull her hair. Shouldn't I slap her?"
Margaret, in her anger, started making up lies to pushall her actions onto Lucy. She viciously pointed at her and cursed, "This is the nurse you hired, a vicious woman. If I don't beat her up, how can I face Mary and Sarah?"
With that, Margaret dramatically sat on the ground, causing a scene.
Lucy, now in a panic, shook her head desperately, tears of frustration welling up in her eyes. She clung to William and said, "No, no, I didn't, William. She's lying. It was her..."
"What do you mean, me?"
Margaret jumped up, pointing at Lucy and threatening viciously, "It was you, and you're still trying to lie. I'll beat you up!"
William stepped in and shouted angrily at Margaret, "Shut up!"
This shout scared Margaret because the aura around William was terrifying.
She stood aside, feeling guilty.
William, with a furrowed brow, said nothing and walked into the ward, seeing Sarah lying on the bed with other nurses around her.
"Daddy."
Poor Sarah, seeing William, quickly reached out for a hug, feeling wronged.
"Don't be afraid, Sarah. Let me ask you, was it Lucy or Grandma who hit you?"
William held Sarah and asked softly.
Sarah's big eyes were filled with tears, and she was very scared.
She was afraid William would argue with Margaret because of her, so she stammered. "Daddy, neither Lucy nor Grandma hit me. I accidentally bumped myself."
Bumped herself?
William looked at the red slap mark on Sarah's face, and anger surged in his heart.
Every hit on Sarah hurt William's heart deeply.
'Margaret, you shouldn't have hit Sarah,' thought William.
After putting Sarah down and letting the nurse take care of her, William turned around with anger and walked out of the ward.
At that moment, William was no longer the useless person who could be bullied and humiliated.
His eyes were bloodshot, brewing endless anger.
For three years, he had endured Margaret's strange temper and bad habits.
But she didn't restrain herself and instead even worse.
Walking out of the ward, he headed towards the crowd. Some nurses had already started clearing the area.
However, Margaret was still cursing at Lucy, "You little bitch, who told you to lie? Believe it or not, I'll beat you up!"
Lucy, with tears in her eyes, stubbornly held her chin up, refusing to yield.
"What did you go do? Sarah doesn't know anything. It was this little bitch who hit her."
Margaret insisted, but she felt guilty and nervous, especially seeing William walking towards her with a murderous aura. She instinctively took a few steps back, terrified, "What are you going to do?"
The entire corridor was filled with a murderous intent, making everyone shiver.
"You shouldn't have hit Sarah."
William gritted his teeth, his eyes bloodshot, tightly clenching his fists, and raised his hand.
