Chapter 113: I Also Started a Company

William frowned slightly. This young girl was really impolite.

‘If I were your father, I would give you a few slaps!’ William thought.

"William, this is my friend, Amy," Lori said with a smile, her expression also slightly disdainful.

‘William, such a lecher! What are your eyes staring at so intently?’ Amt pondered.

She pouted and sharply scolded, "What are you looking at? Never seen a beautiful woman before?"

William shook his head helplessly, chuckled, and ignored the two of them.

Lori wasn't willing to let go of William.

Finally running into a guy from college who pursued her, Lori had to show off a bit.

Besides, Mary, that golden girl, even married the loser William.

She heard William had been having a tough time over the past few years, owing a lot of money and being on the verge of divorce.

Lori felt great and couldn't wait to show off and humiliate him a bit.

Lori dragged William into the nearby café and said, "It's rare to meet. Let's have a cup of coffee together."

William wanted to refuse but couldn't find a way out.

They chose a booth and sat down.

After waiting for a while, Lori got up unhappily and said, "Amy, sit here for a bit. I'll go get us some coffee."

As she spoke, Lori gave William a few disdainful glances.

William didn't understand gentlemanly behavior at all.

With two beautiful women here, William didn't even think to get coffee.

Lori was glad she didn't fancy William back in college.

Judging by William's taste in clothes, he really seemed to be doing poorly.

After chatting for a while, Melissa walked in and talked to William about something.

Lori and Amy saw a beautiful woman talking to William and felt a bit suspicious.

"William, who is she?" Lori asked, puzzled.

‘Could she be William's mistress? No way, could William attract such a beautiful woman?’ she pondered.

William thought for a moment and calmly replied, "She's the manager of my company."

Melissa also nodded slightly and smiled at them, "Hello, I'm Melissa, the manager of William's company."

Amy was the first to get excited, her big eyes blinking as she stared at William in surprise, "William, you started a company? Wonderful!"

How could Amy not be excited? William seemed ordinary, but he started his own company. He must be rich.

In other words, if she used a bit of her charm, this foolish man would fall for her.

Considering this, Amy couldn't wait to grab her small bag and said she was going to the bathroom. Actually, she was going to touch up her makeup.

Lori was also shocked, excitedly asking, "William, are you running a company?"

Lori was very puzzled. Unlike Amy, she wasn't easily surprised because she knew William from college and knew his past.

‘How could a poor guy like him run a company and become a boss? There must be some misunderstandings.’ Lori was lost in thoughts.

Although she felt extremely jealous, Lori maintained a good facade and smiled. "Well done, William. It's been three years, and you've done well, even owning your company."

William smiled faintly and didn't say much.

He knew that if he said he was just working, Lori would mock him.

Since that, he might as well be straightforward.

After all, they wouldn't have much interaction in the future, so let it.

Lori laughed. "It seems Alfonso's information was wrong. We thought you were still poor, but it turns out you've made it."

Amy had already come back. Indeed, women look better with makeup.

She had a seductive smile on her face, constantly winking at William. "If you get a chance, take me to see your company. I have nothing to do recently, and you can ask me out to play."

How straightforward!

William was shocked.

Lori also chuckled and said, "William, you missed our last two class reunions. This time you have to come. They booked a private room at the Victory Grand Hotel today. You can't refuse again!"

William was surprised. "Today?"

Lori nodded. "Yes, didn't Alfonso inform you?"

William had been notified of the last two class reunions but had declined both times.

Because at that time, he and Mary were going through a rough patch. He had no status or position then. It would have been awkward to attend.

So, Alfonso didn't inform William this time.

Unexpectedly, they ran into each other today.

It was indeed a bit surprising.

Seeing William hesitate, Lori said quickly, "Since we've run into each other, let's go together. It's been years since we've all met."

Actually, Lori was thinking of using this gathering to get closer to William.

Lori now regretted not giving William a chance back then. She didn't expect him to be doing so well now.

William rubbed his nose and nodded. "Alright."

He had nothing to do in the afternoon anyway. The candlelight dinner with Mary was scheduled for tomorrow, so there was no rush.

William gave Melissa a few instructions, and she went back to the company first.

Staying in the café for a while, Lori and Amy took William to the bar in the nearby mall.

"Alfonso and the others are singing here first. Then they'll go to the Victory Grand Hotel," Lori said, taking William's arm and adding mysteriously. "William, did you know that Stanley recently started his own company and has already reached three million in revenue? I heard he's aiming for twenty million this year! Today's reunion is arranged by him."

William was uncomfortable with Lori holding his arm. He knew exactly what she was thinking.

Politely pulling his arm away, William shook his head and smiled. "Stanley started a company too? We haven't been in touch for a long time."

Lori changed her face slightly, not expecting William to be so ungrateful. Her expression turned cold and she crossed her arms. "Weren't you two best friends? What happened? Did you fall out?"

Lori knew that William and Stanley used to be inseparable friends in their class.

Now that they weren't in touch, it must be because of Mary.

Everyone knew that Stanley had also pursued Mary back then, but Mary and William started dating.

It was really enviable.

But because of that, William fell out with many friends.

Mary was a femme fatale indeed.

At this point, Amy also came over, looking very curious.

"Hey, who is Stanley? How's his company doing?" Amy asked enthusiastically, shaking her head.

William shook his head. "I don't know. We lost touch after graduation."

Lori understood clearly and nodded without saying anything.

"By the way, are you still in touch with Jeffery? And Elbert? Oh, have you lost touch with Walter too?" Lori asked in surprise.

Amy frowned slightly and complained, "William, it seems like you haven't kept in touch with any of your classmates. You're really bad at socializing."

"Not really. I'm not too sure about Jeffery, but I still keep in touch with Elbert. Actually, I'm not the type to stay in touch with everyone. Having one or two close friends is enough." William explained.

Thinking of Jeffery, he felt a bit sad.

As for Elbert, he hadn't visited him in a long time and didn't know how his marriage with Lisa was going.

The last time at the hotel, when he caught Lisa cheating, William hadn't had the chance to tell Elbert.

He was afraid that telling him would break Elbert's heart.

He was even more afraid that Elbert wouldn't believe him, and they wouldn't be friends anymore.

As they walked, they soon arrived at the bar, where they could hear loud and off-key singing.

However, what followed was a series of exaggerated compliments, which sounded insincere.

"You sing just like the original! I bow to you!"

"Yeah, with that voice, you should enter a singing competition. You'd win!"

A group of people were flattering each other. William felt awkward just listening to it, only managing a chuckle.

Lori was the first to speak, "Everyone, look who I brought with me."

They all fell silent instantly. Under the colorful lights, all eyes were on the person behind Lori.

There was no cheer but indifference and silence without applause.

Only a few people, with mocking smiles, loudly said, "Wow, William came."

"This is a busy man who hasn’t shown himself in three years. We even run into him today."

"William, if you're not doing well, just tell us. We'd help you out. No need to dress like that."

Laughter and ridicule filled the room.
