Chapter 100 Someone Gave You a Villa

Laura hesitated for a moment, then asked, "Harmony Realty Group's General Manager? What do you want from me?"

"Miss Hall, did you visit our sales office to look at houses today?" Leonard asked with a smile.

Laura realized that it must be because she had visited the sales office today. They probably wanted to ask how she liked the house and when she might buy it.

Laura had been visiting various sales offices around Lumina City these past few days and had received quite a few calls like this.

But it was the first time the general manager had called her directly.

"I did visit your place today. The villas are quite nice, but I don't have that much cash right now. I'll call you when I'm ready to buy," Laura said this and was about to hang up the phone.

"Miss Hall, you misunderstood me. I'm not asking when you plan to buy a house!" Leonard quickly said.

"What? Then why are you calling? Are you asking about your sales staff's service attitude?" Laura's tone grew more puzzled.

"Miss Hall, I'm calling to inform you that someone has already bought the villa you were interested in and plans to give it to you. When would you be available to come and sign the purchase contract?" Leonard said respectfully.

"Someone bought the villa I was interested in and plans to give it to me? You must be joking. That villa costs over fifty million!"

Laura's mouth dropped open in shock upon hearing Leonard's words.

"Miss Hall, I'm not joking. I'm telling the truth. You just need to bring your ID to our sales office and sign the purchase contract," Leonard quickly said.

Laura hesitated for a moment, then softly said, "This scam is too obvious. There's no such thing as a free lunch. No one would give me a villa for no reason. I'm not stupid; I won't fall for it!"

After saying this, Laura hung up the phone and pouted, "These sales offices are really unreliable. I just visited them this afternoon, and now I'm getting scam calls in the evening!"

Clearly, Laura thought the sales office had leaked her personal information, and Leonard was a scammer trying to trick her into paying various fees by claiming someone wanted to give her a villa.

This kind of scam was actually quite common, and people actually fell for it from time to time, as often reported in the news.

"Laura, who was that?" Nancy asked with a smile after Laura hung up the phone.

"Just a scam call!" Laura replied calmly, not taking the call seriously.

"A scam call? But I heard someone bought a villa to give to you?" Nancy continued to ask.

"Yeah, that villa costs over fifty million. No one would buy it for me!" Laura sighed lightly.

"Well, you never know. Didn't James say he would buy that villa for you? Maybe it was James who bought it," Nancy said playfully.

"Nancy, stop joking. James is broke; he couldn't possibly afford that villa," Laura said helplessly to Nancy.

"Laura, maybe James is just pretending to be poor. Maybe he delivers food for fun, but his family is actually very wealthy. And when he heard you wanted to buy a villa, he bought it for you!"

Although Nancy said this, she didn't really believe James had the money to buy the villa and give it to Laura.

Because James was known to be a poor guy, and everyone at the University of Lumina knew it.

"Nancy, stop making fun of James. He may be poor, but he's a good person!" Laura said softly.

"A good person? The first time I met him, he pretended to fall to take advantage of me. He also asks you for $2,000 a month for living expenses. The worst part is, last time I brought him money, he threw it all away. Just thinking about it makes me want to slap him!" Nancy said angrily.

"Last time I asked you to bring James money, you must have said something to him that made him throw it away. Don't think I don't know what happened!"

Laura rolled her eyes at Nancy. Having grown up together, she knew Nancy's personality very well.

Nancy pouted and argued, "I didn't say anything to James that day. Who knew he had such a temper."

"Everyone has their dignity, especially a man. You should be more mindful of how you speak to others!" Laura said slowly.

"James is a man who relies on women. Men who rely on women have no dignity. I despise men who rely on women!"

"You..."

Laura was about to say more when her phone rang again.

Laura hesitated for a moment, then picked up the phone.

"Miss Hall, hello!" Leonard's voice came through again.

"It's you again?  I told you, your scam is too obvious. I won't fall for it. Find a better excuse next time!" Laura said impatiently upon hearing Leonard's voice.

"Miss Hall, I'm not scamming you."

"If you keep harassing me, I'll call the police. Do you believe me?" Laura said angrily.

"Miss Hall, if you don't believe me, you can check the number on your phone. This is our sales office's number. If I were a scammer, I wouldn't use this number to call you.

"Also, we aren't asking you for any money. You just need to come to our sales office and take a look. If I were a scammer, I wouldn't dare let you come to the sales office," Leonard explained quickly.

Laura quickly checked her phone and saw that the number indeed ended with six sixes.

Previously, to get information about the villa, Laura had called Harmony Realty Group, and the number was exactly the same as the one Leonard was using now!

"Could someone really have bought that villa for me?" Laura murmured in shock.

Then, she remembered the things James had said to her.

Laura had met James at the sales office, and he had said he would buy the villa for her.

But Laura had thought James was just joking, so she didn't take him seriously.

She had even joked that if James bought the villa for her, she would marry him.

As Laura confirmed Leonard's identity, several questions popped into her mind.

'Could James really have bought the villa? But where did he get so much money? That villa costs over fifty million!'
