Chapter 99 Taking Her to McDonald's

At this moment, Mark said to Rex coldly, "You just need to pay fifty thousand dollars, and then you can leave!"

Upon hearing this, Rex immediately frowned and then said in a low voice, "Why should I pay? If I don't pay today, can you detain me?"

"Of course, we won't detain you, but if you don't pay this fine, our restaurant will cancel your membership card!" Mark squinted his eyes and replied softly.

Hearing this, Rex was stunned, his expression turning very unpleasant.

This membership card was borrowed from a rich kid in his class. If that rich kid found out his membership card was canceled, he definitely wouldn't let Rex off.

After all, a Moonlight Garden membership card was something money couldn't buy, and ordinary people couldn't have one.

Rex hesitated for two seconds while looking at Mark, then said in a low voice, "I was in a hurry when I left home today and forgot to bring my bank card. Can I pay this money another day?"

"It's okay if you forgot your bank card. Mobile transfers are so convenient now. You can use Apple Pay, or I can have someone go to the bank with you to withdraw the money!" Mark said calmly.

Hearing Mark's words, Rex was immediately embarrassed. He didn't know what to say, as he didn't have that much money on him!

Linda, seeing the expression on Rex's face, was also very puzzled.

After all, in Linda's eyes, Rex was the famous SuperSmith on StreamVerse, a millionaire who could easily spend hundreds of thousands. How could he not come up with fifty thousand dollars now?

Moreover, as a wealthy person, Rex didn't even have a Moonlight Garden membership card, which didn't match his identity at all.

Linda suddenly found Rex a bit suspicious.

At this moment, Rex suddenly turned to Linda and said, "Linda, did you bring any money? Can you help me pay this amount first? I'll return the money to you once I get my bank card from home!"

The restaurant guests, upon hearing Rex's words, all showed disdainful expressions. After all, most people who came to eat at Moonlight Garden were wealthy.

So when they saw Rex asking a girl to lend him money, they naturally looked down on him.

But Rex couldn't care about that; he just wanted to pay the fine quickly and leave with Linda.

Linda didn't refuse Rex. She took out her phone from her bag, walked up to Mark, and said softly, "I'll pay the money."

Mark glanced at Linda indifferently, said nothing more, and led her to the restaurant's front desk.

Linda directly used her phone to transfer fifty thousand dollars.

After paying the fine, Rex finally breathed a sigh of relief and then walked out of the restaurant with Linda.

After leaving the restaurant, Linda hesitated for a moment, stopped, and asked Rex softly, "Rex, are you hiding something from me?"

"I can't possibly be hiding anything from you!"

Rex pretended to be calm and then continued, "Linda, are you suspecting me just because I borrowed fifty thousand dollars from you? I already told you, I just forgot to bring my bank card. I'll definitely return the money to you!"

"That's not what I meant!" Linda quickly exclaimed.

"Then what do you mean now?"

"I just want to know if something is bothering you. If you have something on your mind, you can tell me!"

Linda felt that Rex was acting very strange today, and his behavior was very different from SuperSmith, so she said this.

"Don't worry, I'm fine. Let's find another restaurant to eat at!"

Seeing that Linda hadn't seen through his identity, Rex felt relieved.

"Alright!"

Linda nodded at Rex and said nothing more.

Ten minutes later, Rex took Linda to a McDonald's.

Seeing Rex take her to McDonald's, Linda seemed even more suspicious of Rex's identity.

Although eating at McDonald's wasn't embarrassing for Linda, she felt that if Rex were really a super-rich kid, he wouldn't take her to McDonald's.

At this moment, a very bold idea suddenly flashed through Linda's mind, 'Could it be that what James said before was true? Is Rex really a fraud?'

But she quickly shook her head, denied the thought, and followed Rex into McDonald's.

Meanwhile, Laura returned home, kicked off her high heels, and walked barefoot towards the sofa.

"Laura, you're back?"

At this moment, Nancy ran out of the bedroom and greeted Laura with a smile.

"Nancy, why are you here?" Laura looked surprised to see Nancy.

"I was bored at school, so I thought I'd come to hang out with you!" Nancy explained and then continued, "By the way, Laura, I heard you went to look at a villa today. How was it?"

"The villa's location is good, the surrounding facilities are complete, and the scenery is beautiful, but it's too expensive. A villa costs more than fifty million, and I can't come up with that much money right now!" Laura replied with a somewhat disappointed expression after hearing Nancy's question.

"Fifty million?" Nancy exclaimed upon hearing the number, then said with wide eyes, "Are these people crazy? A villa costs fifty million; why don't they just rob a bank?"

"The villa's location is excellent, so it's not surprising it's priced that high. But something strange happened today. Guess who I met at the sales office?" Laura said softly.

"Who?" Nancy asked, curious.

"I met James!" Laura replied in a low voice and then continued, "And James even said he wanted to buy the villa for me. Isn't that ridiculous?"

Nancy burst into laughter upon hearing this, clutching her stomach and saying, "Is James out of his mind? He's just a poor delivery guy. Even if he delivered food for a lifetime, he couldn't afford a fifty-million-dollar villa!"

"Yeah."

Laura was about to say more when her phone suddenly rang.

Laura quickly answered the call and asked softly, "Hello, who is this?"

"Is this Miss Hall?" the person on the other end of the line asked politely.

"Yes."

"I'm Leonard, the general manager of Harmony Realty Group's sales department."

Laura was stunned upon hearing this, a look of confusion flashing in her eyes.

She couldn't understand why the general manager of Harmony Realty Group would call her.
