Chapter 408 Make a Choice

"Become James's servant?" Savannah's face fell when she heard Charles' words.

It was only now that she got what Charles was really after.

"I wanted you to have a kid with Mr. Smith so we could keep you under control. But you tried to use this to threaten him. So, sorry, but I gotta use this method to keep you in line!" Charles said to Savannah in a calm voice.

Savannah's eyes showed a flicker of despair.

Now she understood why Charles had said she didn't appreciate the chance she had. Maybe having a kid with James wasn't such a bad idea after all!

"You've got two choices: either die from the Bone-eroding pills or be Mr. Smith's servant. Do whatever he asks, and I'll make sure you get the medicine every week. That way, you won't go through that pain again. But you gotta be loyal to Mr. Smith, got it?" Charles said softly to Savannah.

"When will the poison from the Bone-eroding pills be completely gone from my body?" Savannah hesitated and asked Charles quietly.

"In ten years!" Charles replied indifferently.

"Ten years?!" Despair flashed in Savannah's eyes, and she shouted at Charles, "Charles, you're truly cruel! You're gonna torture me for ten years!"

"Cruel?" Charles sneered and said, "If you hadn't tried to frame Mr. Smith and threaten him, would I be doing this to you?"

Savannah glared at Charles, speechless. She knew this was all her own fault.

"I don't have time to waste. What's your choice?" Charles asked Savannah, expressionless.

"I'll be Mr. Smith's servant. He'll be my master from now on. Whatever he asks, I'll do it!"

Though Savannah hated it, she had no choice but to agree to save her life.

"From now on, on the first of every month, I'll have someone bring you the antidote. Take it before the poison kicks in, and you'll be fine. I need you to keep an eye on the Edwards family for me. Got it?" Charles said softly to Savannah.

"Got it." Savannah nodded lightly.

After hearing Savannah's answer, Charles didn't waste any more time. He got up and left the room.

The driver glanced at Savannah with a complicated expression, then turned and left with Charles.

A few minutes later, Charles and the driver were back in the Bentley.

After getting in the car, the driver glanced at Charles and said softly, "Mr. Wilson, didn't that woman just take the antidote? Isn't the poison from the Bone-eroding pills gone from her body?"

Charles glanced at the driver and said flatly, "If I told Savannah she already took the antidote, do you think she'd still be so obedient?"

"I get it!" The driver sighed, then asked, puzzled, "But Mr. Wilson, what if Savannah finds out?"

"She won't." Charles shook his head slightly and said in a low voice, "The pain from the Bone-eroding pills is something no ordinary person can handle. Once Savannah's felt it, she'll never forget it. She won't risk not taking the antidote."

"That's true. Mr. Wilson, you really think of everything!" The driver said with a smile.

Charles looked out the window, hesitated for a moment, then sighed softly, "Mr. Smith is just starting to get involved in these matters. There are some things he can't bring himself to do, so I have to handle them. Don't tell him anything about today. I'll let him know when the time is right."

The driver nodded and started the car.

Meanwhile, James, after leaving the Sheraton Hotel, had no clue what Charles had done to Savannah or what had gone down in the presidential suite.

Not that James cared.

Right now, James was still thinking about Laura, so he couldn't bring himself to do anything that would betray her.

After hailing a cab, James headed straight to the Innovation Hub Tower.

James had once thought he might lose his inheritance rights, so he wanted to splurge and live it up. He bought a limited edition Ferrari at a dealership.

But after his conversation with Charles yesterday, which threw him off, and because James usually liked to walk, he forgot he had a sports car parked at the Innovation Hub Tower when he went home last night.

Leaving the hotel, James suddenly remembered his sports car and decided to get it before finding Pamela.

James had promised Pamela that if he regained his wealthy status, he'd buy all the remaining houses in her development.

Now that he was back in the game, he had to keep his promise to Pamela.

James had always thought poorly of Pamela, thinking she was materialistic and only nice to him for her own gain.

But when Pamela found out James might end up broke, she still said they were friends, which really touched James.

Maybe Pamela wasn't as bad as he thought.

After arriving at the parking lot, James tried to remember where he parked and started looking for his sports car.

But after walking for a bit, he saw a crowd gathered around his car, whispering about something.

And most importantly, a little girl was squatting next to the car, crying.

Seeing this, James was stunned, then walked straight towards the crowd.
