Chapter 125 The one who stole the money is James

In Savor & Vine Bistro, Evelyn saw Paul and the others leave and quickly whispered to Sarah, "Sarah, are you really planning to be with James?"

"Yeah!"

Sarah nodded lightly.

"I think you're really selling yourself short by being with someone like James just because of Harold. Didn't you hear what James' ex-girlfriend said? He's a total scumbag, broke, and loves to hit on women and pretend to be rich. It's disgusting!" Evelyn said with a frown.

Sarah looked at the naive Evelyn beside her and replied with a smile, "I'm just using him as an excuse. I don't really want to be with him!"

"But you can't let James off the hook like that, especially after he rejected you. I simply can't comprehend it. He has no right to reject you. Just take a good look at him, a loser who loves pretending to be wealthy!"Evelyn continued indignantly.

"Don't worry, I'll handle him sooner or later!" Sarah said confidently.

"That's true, Sarah, you're so beautiful, no man would reject you." Evelyn nodded with a smile.

On the other side, James, Paul, and Tyler returned to the classroom, where all the students were already seated.

A fierce-looking middle-aged man stood straight on the podium, looking very serious as he gazed at the students.

James couldn't help but be stunned when he saw the middle-aged man.

Because this middle-aged man was Louis Turner, the dean of the third year at the University of Lumina!

Despite having limited interaction with Louis, James was aware that Louis was not a kind person.

He often abused his position as dean to act tyrannically in the school, committing all sorts of misdeeds.

For wealthy students who flattered him, he would turn a blind eye to their mistakes, but if ordinary students made mistakes, they would either get beaten or expelled.

Moreover, it was said that Louis often harassed female students, so he had a terrible reputation and was very unpopular.

"What are you standing at the door for? Get in here!"

Louis saw James and the others and barked at them with a stern face.

James hesitated for a moment, then walked into the classroom.

"Are all the students here now?" Louis asked Donna expressionlessly after seeing James and the others sit down.

Class president Donna replied softly, "Everyone's here!"

Donna's eyes were a bit red, and her voice was choked, indicating she had been crying earlier.

"Alright, Donna, tell everyone what happened!" Louis said to Donna.

"Sir, here's what happened. This morning, I collected the class fee, one hundred dollars from each student, a total of fifty students, so I collected five thousand dollars. I put the money in my backpack, but during gym class, I was afraid of losing it, so I left my backpack in the classroom."

"But when I returned to the classroom after gym class, I found the money was gone," Donna said to Louis intermittently.

"How did you become the class monitor? I specifically announced this morning that there were thieves in our school and that valuable items should be kept with you. And you lost the money in the afternoon. You're really too careless," Louis shouted in exasperation.

Donna started crying after hearing Louis' words, "I didn't do it on purpose!"

"Alright, I'm not trying to scold you. Just figure out how to get the money back. If you can find it, you won't be responsible. If you can't, discuss with your classmates whether you'll replace the money or everyone will pay the class fee again."

Louis had a completely detached attitude, as if the theft had nothing to do with him as the dean.

After all, thefts in the school were not a new thing, and Louis had never caught the thief.

The students in the classroom started whispering after hearing Louis' words.

Most of them were ordinary students, and although one hundred dollars wasn't much, they were unwilling to pay it again.

But if Donna had to pay it all herself, it would be a huge amount for her!

James looked at Donna's aggrieved expression and hesitated, thinking that if Donna really lost the money, he could find a way to pay it for her.

After all, five thousand dollars was a huge amount for an ordinary student, but it was nothing to James. He didn't care about it at all.

"Mr. Turner!"

At this moment, Elbert suddenly stood up and spoke.

"Do you have something to say?"

Louis turned to look at Elbert and asked softly.

"Mr. Turner, I know who stole the money!"

Elbert continued to shout.

The students in the classroom turned to look at Elbert, their faces filled with expressions of surprise.

Elbert looked at James with a smug expression, secretly sneering, "James, let's see how arrogant you can be now. You're done for!"

"You say you know who the thief is?"

Louis' pupils contracted as he squinted at Elbert.

"Yes!"

Elbert nodded and then pointed directly at James, shouting, "The thief is James!"

"James?"

Louis couldn't help but be stunned.

The students in the classroom also turned to look at James with strange expressions.

Actually, the students had already started suspecting James, but they had no concrete evidence to prove he was the thief.

Paul stood up and shouted excitedly, "Elbert, what nonsense are you spouting? How can you accuse James of being the thief?"

"Yeah, do you have any evidence? James has been with us the whole time and never left. Paul and I can both prove that James isn't the thief!" Tyler also stood up and shouted at Elbert.

"Are you sure you've been with James the whole time?" Elbert sneered at Tyler and Paul.

"I can be sure!"

"Yes, I can be sure too!"

Tyler quickly nodded.

"You are still too naive!"

Elbert suddenly sneered.

James squinted at Elbert, sensing from Elbert's expression that today's incident was not just about the missing money.
