Chapter 83 A Gentleman Avenges his Grievances
Upon hearing Sarah's words, everyone was in an uproar.
They had already been skeptical about James's identity as a rich heir, but Pamela had spoken up for him.
So, they maintained a half-believing, half-doubting attitude towards James's identity. But now, with Sarah's revelation, James's true nature was exposed, and everyone felt a wave of disdain.
They all cast looks of disgust at James and sympathy towards Pamela, because they believed Pamela must have been deceived by James.
As a company manager, Pamela had a decent reputation, and she had no reason to bring someone over to make a fool of them.
"Sarah, is what you're saying true?" Kimberly asked Sarah coldly.
"Of course, it's true. If you don't believe me, I can call my friends over right now to tell you what happened last night!" Sarah replied confidently.
"Alright."
Kimberly showed a playful smile, then stepped forward and said to Pamela, "Pamela, I don't think we need to wait until tomorrow. Since this guy is just a poor delivery boy, he definitely won't have the money to buy the villa tomorrow. So you should go ahead and resign!"
"How do you know Mr. Smith doesn't have the money to buy the villa?" Pamela replied expressionlessly.
"You heard what Sarah just said."
"So what if I heard it? Who knows if she's just making things up? You have no evidence to prove she's telling the truth," Pamela retorted coldly.
"Pamela, I think you're being too stubborn. Even now, you're still defending this loser. I'll give you one day. If this guy doesn't come to pay tomorrow, let's see what you have to say then!"
Kimberly felt she had already won, so she spoke arrogantly.
But at this moment, James, who had been standing silently, suddenly spoke up, "No need to wait a day!"
"What do you mean by that?" Kimberly asked, looking at James.
"I can buy this villa today. But as Pamela said, if I don't have the money to buy it, she'll resign. But if I do buy it, what will you do?" James asked Kimberly.
Kimberly was momentarily stunned by James's words.
"If you buy this villa, what should I do?"
Kimberly seemed a bit confused by James's words.
Pamela immediately understood James's meaning and shouted at Kimberly, "Kimberly, I said earlier that if Mr. Smith doesn't have the money to buy this villa tomorrow, I'll resign. But if Mr. Smith buys it, what will you do?".
Kimberly knew Pamela wanted to make a bet with her, but she hesitated because she didn't know James as well as Pamela did.
So Kimberly turned to Sarah and asked softly, "Sarah, are you sure this guy is just a poor delivery boy?"
"Don't worry, Kimberly. I wouldn't lie to you. James is just a poor guy!
"Last night at Stellar, all his classmates exposed him. If it weren't for them, I would have been fooled by James. And James admitted last night that everything his classmates said was true! He doesn't have the money to buy a villa," Sarah replied confidently.
Hearing Sarah's words, Kimberly felt more confident.
She knew her cousin wouldn't lie to her. Since Sarah said James was a poor delivery boy, the fifty million needed to buy the villa was an astronomical figure for James, and he couldn't possibly come up with it.
"Pamela, if this loser can buy the villa, I'll resign, too!" Kimberly said sarcastically to Pamela.
"Alright!" Pamela nodded and continued, "Then we'll see tomorrow. Mr. Smith, let's go!"
"No need to go. I can buy the villa right now!" James replied calmly, then took out his phone and dialed Charles's number.
James had originally planned to go back and get his bank card and come back tomorrow to buy the villa.
But unexpectedly, he ran into Sarah here, and her taunts made him very uncomfortable. However, after last night's events at Stellar, James knew Sarah's opinion of him had plummeted, and they couldn't continue their relationship.
But he felt that even if he was a poor delivery boy, Sarah didn't need to be so sarcastic. James never wanted to overly expose his identity, but that didn't mean he would let people bully him.
So he decided to buy the villa now and give Sarah and Kimberly a lesson.
"James!" Charles quickly answered the phone, his tone unusually respectful.
"Charles, I need fifty million now!" James said expressionlessly.
"James, I'm out of town on business. Give me the address, and I'll have the bank send someone to you. You can tell them how much you need!" Charles said quickly.
James looked up at the name of the sales office and said calmly, "I'm at the sales office of Harmony Realty Group's villa area!"
"Alright, I'll have the bank send someone over right away!" Charles replied promptly.
James didn't waste any words and hung up the phone.
Although James could have gone home with Pamela to get the bank card, he felt it was too troublesome. It was easier to have Charles's people bring the money over.
Moreover, if James left now, Sarah and Kimberly might leave too.
James felt that if he was going to take revenge, he should do it in a way that caught them off guard!
As the saying goes, a gentleman doesn't take revenge overnight. If you're going to take revenge, do it immediately!
After hanging up the phone, James said softly to Pamela, "The bank will send the money over soon. Just wait a bit."
"Alright, Mr. Smith!" Pamela quickly nodded, then looked disdainfully at Kimberly and Sarah.
Pamela knew James's capabilities and his background.
If James said the money would come soon, it meant it definitely would. Pamela knew she was going to win today.
Meanwhile, Kimberly and Sarah looked puzzled. Although they knew James was a poor guy, his tone on the phone and the playful expression on his face seemed to suggest he wasn't joking with them.
