Chapter 181 Janet's Identity

"I don't know if she's the same Miss Carter you mentioned. I just know her name is Janet Carter, and she's teaching at the University of Lumina," James said slowly.

"Then she must be Miss Carter!" Terry nodded.

"Do you know her?" James asked quickly, noticing Terry's reaction.

"Sort of. When she first came to Lumina City, I helped her get in touch with the university president for a teaching job. But after that, she never contacted me again," Terry explained, then looked puzzled. "Why are you asking about her?"

"She was my college advisor. Janet saved me today. Do you know who she really is?" James asked anxiously.

"No idea," Terry replied without hesitation.

"No idea? Then why did you help her get a job?" James asked, confused.

"I only know she came from out of town and has a powerful background. My boss at the time told me to help her. Even he was afraid of her," Terry said seriously.

"Your boss? Aren't I your boss?" James was puzzled.

"You're my boss now, but back then, I was just a vice president. The president was my boss," Terry explained.

"Where is the president now?" James asked quickly.

"He's dead. That's why I got promoted. Otherwise, it would be him talking to you now, not me," Terry said helplessly.James suddenly realized what Terry meant about the boss.

Currently, Terry and Charles were helping James manage the business. But back when the old chairman was alive, it had been Terry's older brother who was handling things. With the passing of Terry's brother, Terry had inherited his position.

"So, no one knows Janet's identity now?" James asked helplessly.

"I tried to investigate her before but found nothing. Charles probably doesn't know either," Terry said slowly.

"I can't believe Janet's identity is so closely guarded!" James couldn't help but mutter in awe. The more mysterious Janet's background seemed, the more intrigued he became. But since Terry had said that the investigation yielded nothing, James knew there was little chance for him to find out anything himself—Terry wouldn't lie to him about such matters.

James took a deep breath and asked, "You know Yancy, right?"

"Yes, he used to be my driver. Did he offend you today?" Terry exclaimed.

"Yeah, the injury on my face was caused by Yancy," James replied calmly.

"Is Yancy looking for trouble?" Terry was furious.

He always had to tread carefully when speaking with James, but now, one of his own subordinates had dared to lay a hand on his boss. Terry was absolutely livid.

"If it weren't for Janet's timely appearance, I might have been crippled by Yancy," James said.

"Don't worry, James. I'll deal with Yancy right now!" Terry replied hastily, pulling out his phone to call Yancy.

The phone rang twice before Yancy answered, "Boss, it's late. Why are you calling?"

"Yancy, where are you right now?" Terry asked coldly, suppressing his anger.

Sensing something was wrong, Yancy asked cautiously, "Boss, did something happen?"

"Don't give me that crap. Where are you right now?" Terry shouted.

"I'm at home," Yancy replied, trembling.

Terry hung up and shouted to the driver, "Head to Yancy's house now!"

The driver responded quickly and started the car, "Got it!"

Meanwhile, Janet stood seductively by the bar's floor-to-ceiling window, looking at the scenery outside. Seeing Terry's car leave, she licked her red lips and softly said, "Little James, I underestimated you. Didn't expect you to know Terry. Looks like you have some skills!"
