Chapter 274 ArtScape Center

"Nancy, what are you even talking about?" Laura shouted, feeling helpless.

"Laura, you're so gullible. How could James, a broke loser, possibly know Atticus? He's definitely lying to you!" Nancy said, all excited.

"Nancy, James didn't lie to me. He really..." Laura started to defend James but noticed him tugging at her sleeve.

Laura quickly turned to James and saw him wink, signaling her to stop talking.

Seeing Laura stop, James turned to Nancy and said calmly, "You're right, I was just bragging. I don't know anyone named Atticus. I was just working a part-time job that day. I'm not a VIP at the Fairy Lake Resort."

Nancy raised her head proudly and pouted at Laura, "See, Laura? He admitted it himself. He was just bragging. How could he know Atticus? Don't let him fool you!"

Laura shook her head helplessly, not knowing what to say.

"James, since you don't go against me this time, I won't tell my grandpa. After all, you did help Laura once!" Nancy said smugly.

"Thank you," James replied calmly.

He didn't want to argue with Nancy about this. Even if he proved he knew Atticus, it would only bring unnecessary trouble. So James thought the fewer people who knew about this, the better.

"No need to thank me. If you dare lie to Laura again, I won't let you off!" Nancy, who was pretty simple-minded, was very happy at this moment. She didn't really want to do anything to James. She just couldn't believe that she was kicked out of the Fairy Lake Resort while James could get in. So Nancy wanted to get to the bottom of this.

But she didn't know that the investor James found for Laura was Charles, a famous tycoon from Lumina City!

If James could know someone like Charles, it would be normal for him to know Atticus.

Lily, who had been silent the whole time, stood quietly watching Nancy and James.

Lily was very observant. Although James admitted he was bragging, Lily didn't believe his words at all and sensed his background might be a bit complicated. But she didn't say anything, just watching them with a smile.

Twenty minutes later, they arrived at a restaurant and asked the waiter for a private room.

Since Laura and Lily hadn't seen each other for a long time, they stuck together as soon as they met. During the meal, the girls chatted most of the time, while James kept his head down, eating.

In the blink of an eye, more than half an hour passed.

James had devoured most of the dishes on the table, while the three girls had been chatting and barely touched their food.

"Lily, where do you want to go next?" Laura asked softly, noticing they were almost done eating.

Lily thought for a moment and then said, "It's still early. Going back to the hotel sounds boring. How about we check out the ArtScape Center?"

"ArtScape Center?" Nancy pouted, "Lily, why do you want to go there? What's so fun about that place? I think we should hit up a karaoke bar instead..."

"Nancy, don't you remember? Lily used to study piano at the ArtScape Center in Willowbrook when she was a kid. She hasn't been back in years, so she probably wants to see it again," Laura explained.

"Oh, I see. I didn't grow up in Willowbrook, so I didn't know Lily studied piano!" Nancy nodded and continued, "In that case, let's go to the ArtScape Center with Lily. I've never been to an art center. My dad always wanted me to learn piano, but I think I have no musical talent. It would be a waste to enroll in a class!"

Lily and Laura couldn't help but smile at each other after hearing Nancy's words. Lily said softly, "Then I'll take you to see it."

James paid no attention to their conversation and was still eating. Seeing they were about to leave, he quickly looked up and asked, "Where are you going?"

"You glutton! Didn't you hear what we just said?" Nancy rolled her eyes at James and shouted.

"No..." James shook his head helplessly.

"I can't believe Laura chose you as her fiancé! You've been eating since we got here, and you still haven't finished!" Nancy said with disgust.

Laura glared at Nancy and then walked over to James, saying, "James, we're planning to go to the ArtScape Center with Lily. Do you want to come with us?"

"ArtScape Center?" James was taken aback when he heard the place.

He wanted to refuse, but Nancy grabbed him and said loudly, "James, you have nothing to do if you go back now. You might as well come with us to the ArtScape Center!"

"I..." Although James wanted to refuse, Nancy kept pulling him, so he had no choice but to follow her into the car.

Nancy wanted James to come along not because she was worried he'd be bored going back alone, but because she knew nothing about the piano. Laura and Lily had both studied music since they were kids. If it were just the three of them, Nancy would feel out of place.

But if she brought James along, at least there would be someone more clueless than her.

After everyone got in the car, Laura drove towards the ArtScape Center.
