Chapter 203 Kneel Down and Apologize to Me

"What do you want?" James asked, giving the guy with the afro a once-over.

"You've got some nerve, bastard, throwing money at my wife!" William yelled, pointing a finger at James. "Think you're rich or something?"

"Richer than you," James shot back, deadpan.

"Seriously?" William laughed, turning to the flashy woman next to him. "Did you hear that? This bastard thinks he's richer than me! Hilarious!"

The woman sneered, "Look at him. Coming to a Michelin restaurant probably costs him a month's salary, and he thinks he's richer than my husband. So funny!"

William's lackeys joined in, laughing like it was the funniest thing they'd ever heard.

"You don't believe me?" James stepped closer, his voice low.

"Of course not! No one dares to say they're richer than me!" William shouted.

William wasn't really rich, just owned a clothing factory. He was showing off for the woman.

"Is that so?" James asked coolly.

William sneered, pulling out a wad of cash. "bastard, you were bragging about being rich? I like dealing with rich people with money!"

"How do you do that?" James asked, squinting.

"Here's ten thousand dollars. Kneel and apologize to my wife, and it's yours!" William waved the cash.

He figured using money to deal with James would make him look good, so he ditched the idea of beating James up.

James looked at William and said coldly, "I'll give you twenty grand. You kneel and apologize to me!"

"Well, you want to go against me?" William cursed. "Can you even come up with twenty grand? Stop bragging!"

"Yeah, can you?" the woman and lackeys mocked.

"I'll give you fifty grand. Kneel and apologize to my wife now!" William said coldly.

"I'll give you eighty grand," James replied calmly.

William was stunned. He didn't know if James had the money but didn't expect him to raise the stakes to eighty grand.

William thought offering fifty grand would make James agree. After James left, he could take the money back, showing off in front of the woman and not losing anything.

William had been trying to get with the flashy woman for over a month and thought today was his chance. But James kept raising the stakes.

"I'll give you a hundred grand. Kneel before me!" William shouted, gritting his teeth. He planned to take the money back later and impress the woman.

James smiled, thinking, 'People are so short-sighted, spending a hundred grand to impress a woman.'

If it were the old James, he might have knelt, but now he had money and wouldn't agree.

Jennifer noticed but was too busy thinking about the five million dollars she was about to get to care.

"Well? Will you kneel for a hundred grand?" William asked.

"I'll give you a million dollars. Kneel and apologize to me now," James replied calmly.

Everyone was stunned. No one expected James to make it a million dollars!

A hundred grand was already a lot, but a million dollars was shocking. Even rich heirs in Lumina City couldn't easily come up with that.

William looked James up and down, annoyed. "Are you messing with me? Can you come up with that much?"

"Yeah, even if we sold you, you wouldn't be worth that much," the flashy woman mocked.

"That is my business. Didn't you want to use money to humiliate me? If you can come up with a million dollars, I might consider kneeling and apologizing to you," James said calmly.

Everyone knew James was just raising the stakes.

"So, can you?" James asked with a smile.

"Do you think I'm an idiot? Why would I give you that much?" William shouted, eyes wide.

"In my eyes, you are an idiot. If you don't have the money, get lost and stop embarrassing yourself!" James pushed William and walked toward the door.

"Stop right there! Who said you could leave?" William shouted, and his lackeys surrounded James.

Just then, the restaurant door opened, and Craig and another bank employee walked in carrying a large money box.

The restaurant patrons were stunned, not knowing what was in the box that needed two men to carry it.

William and his group were also confused.
