Chapter 315 A Return Trip
"Don't worry, come inside and have a seat. I'll call my granddaughter and have them come back quickly!" Conrad replied, trembling.
"Alright!" Willie nodded slightly and followed Conrad and the others to a seat inside the restaurant.
The small business owners of Willowbrook were very tactful at this moment, voluntarily giving up their seats to the big shots.
Any one of these big shots was worth billions of dollars, far beyond what these small business owners could compare to. Naturally, they were well aware of this!
Moreover, after today's events, everyone in Willowbrook would know one thing: the top family in Willowbrook was no longer the Hays Family, but the Hall Family!
The most important reason for this was that Laura had found a fiancé with an astonishing background!
No one had expected that James, who had been looked down upon in every way, could bring such a significant change to the Hall Family.
Conrad didn't have time to be shocked by James's identity. After settling Willie and the others, he hurriedly ran to Joe and whispered, "Joe, what are you standing there for? Call Laura and James and have them come back ASAP!"
Joe seemed still stunned from the earlier shock. After a moment, he stammered, "But Dad, didn't you just kick James out?"
"Nonsense, I misunderstood James earlier! Now that the misunderstanding is cleared up!" Conrad's eyes widened, and he shouted excitedly.
"Alright, alright..." Joe nodded helplessly and then took out his phone and walked away.
Meanwhile, at an amusement park near Willowbrook.
James and Laura were sitting on the Ferris wheel, enjoying the view of Willowbrook.
Although James had just been kicked out of the restaurant by Conrad and was in a bad mood, it also gave him a chance to be alone with Laura.
At this moment, Laura's attitude towards James had undergone a dramatic change.
Laura had always believed in James. She thought that the Lucian who appeared at the restaurant today was definitely not an actor hired by James.
At this moment, Laura's phone suddenly rang.
Laura was startled by the ringtone, then took out her phone and answered the call.
"Dad, what's up?" Laura asked softly.
"Laura, are you still with James?" Joe asked in a low voice.
"Yes, James is right next to me. What's wrong?" Laura glanced at James beside her and asked softly.
"Laura, can you bring James back now?" Joe asked.
"Bring him back?" Laura was taken aback and then frowned. "Why do you want us to come back? Is Grandpa still not done humiliating James? Do you want us to come back so you can continue to humiliate him?"
"Laura, that's not what your grandpa means. We now know that James was wronged. Please bring him back quickly!" Joe said anxiously.
"You know James was wronged?" Laura was stunned by this and then said with her mouth open, "So, the person who came to wish Grandpa a happy birthday was really Lucian?"
"Yes, now bring James back quickly!" Joe replied.
"Okay!" Laura nodded excitedly, then put away her phone and looked at James beside her, grabbing his hand and shouting, "James, my grandpa really wronged you. That Lucian was real!"
James showed a helpless expression upon hearing this, not knowing what to say.
Laura, upon learning that the Hall Family knew they had wronged James, was filled with excitement.
From the beginning, Laura believed that James couldn't have done such a thing. Now, she just wanted to take James back.
James, however, felt helpless. Although Conrad had humiliated him in front of so many people, he didn't think it was a bad thing. At least Conrad had given him and Laura a chance to be alone.
Moreover, James thought that leaving the restaurant earlier had helped him avoid revealing his identity to Laura, so he wasn't keen on going back.
"James, what are you standing there for? My grandpa wants us to go back quickly!" Laura said excitedly.
James hesitated for two seconds, then nodded reluctantly and said, "Alright, let's go back."
He knew that if he didn't go back now, it might arouse Laura's suspicion, so he had to agree reluctantly.
Laura then grabbed James's hand and walked out of the amusement park.
"James, how do you know someone like Lucian?" Laura asked softly as they walked.
James was taken aback by the question, then frowned and said, "Actually, I'm not very familiar with Lucian. I think he came this time because of Charles. Maybe Lucian, like Atticus, wants to use my relationship with Charles to get close to him."
"Oh, okay!" Laura nodded slightly at James, not saying much.
Although Laura felt something was off with James's explanation, she thought that if Lucian wanted to get close to Charles, he could do so directly without involving James.
Despite her doubts, Laura felt that James's explanation was the only plausible one, so she didn't ask further.
