Chapter 110 The Feminine Side
"James, I never expected you to be like this! How could you betray me like this?" Linda shouted at James, then grabbed her clothes and ran out of the room.
James watched Linda's departing figure, feeling utterly devastated inside.
'Last night, it was clearly you who tried to take advantage of me, and now you're accusing me.'
In that moment, Linda hastily grabbed her clothes and fled from the room, feeling utterly betrayed and deeply hurt.
She had just managed to escape Rex's clutches, and now she had fallen into James's hands. She never expected James to be the same kind of person as Rex.
"Linda, can you let me finish talking?" James chased after her, shouting emotionally at Linda.
"It's already come to this, what else do you want to say?"
Linda stopped in her tracks, her eyes welling up with tears.
"I didn't do anything to you last night. If I really did something, why is it that only your top is off and nothing else?"
James said, looking at Linda.
James's words took Linda aback, then she looked down at her skirt and found it indeed intact.
"Then why were we sleeping in the same bed? You booked two rooms when we came to the hotel!"
Linda stammered.
"Linda, did you forget what happened last night?" James said, looking a bit exasperated.
"I don't remember!"
She suddenly felt a wave of dizziness and only remembered coming to the hotel with James, but couldn't recall anything else.
"It seems you really don't remember!"
James sighed helplessly, then pointed to the room he came out of and said, "Take a good look, this is my room. You came to my room last night; that one is your room!"
Upon hearing this, Linda swiftly glanced towards James's room and realized he was not lying. She had indeed entered James's room.
If James really intended to do something to her, he would have gone to her room instead!
"What exactly happened last night? Why were we sleeping together?" Linda asked James, puzzled.
"Can you come inside first?"
James felt there were too many people in the hotel corridor. He couldn't possibly explain everything in front of so many people.
Linda hesitated for a moment, then followed James into the room.
Once inside, James closed the door.
Linda sat on the bed and softly said, "Can you tell me now?"
James swiftly collected his thoughts and proceeded to recount everything that had transpired the previous night to Linda.
After hearing James's explanation, Linda's face turned as red as an apple. She stammered, "James, is everything you said true?"
"I have no reason to lie to you!"
James replied helplessly, then continued, "Last night, you were drugged by Rex, which is why you were out of your mind and asked for my help. But I didn't do anything to you; I just wrapped you in the blanket. Later, I was too tired and fell asleep, which is why you saw what you did this morning!"
Linda sat on the bed, feeling extremely embarrassed.
James had clearly helped her last night, but she had misunderstood him. Linda felt very apologetic.
"James, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have thought of you that way!" Linda said, feeling guilty.
"It's okay. You can try to recall what happened last night. I think you should be able to remember!" James said calmly.
"The only thing I can remember now is coming to the hotel with you. I really can't remember anything else!" Linda said, blushing.
"If you can't remember, then just let it go!"
James smiled at Linda, then continued, "It's getting late, and I have to go back to school for class, so I'll be leaving now!"
"Okay!"
Linda quickly nodded.
James turned and walked out of the room.
After James departed, Linda laid on the bed, her face turning as red as an apple, feeling incredibly bashful..
"Linda, how could you do such a thing? You ran into a guy's room and tried to do that to him. It's so embarrassing."
Linda picked up a pillow and hit it a couple of times to vent her emotions.
No one would have thought that the usually aloof Linda had such a girlish side.
But after venting, Linda suddenly thought of something, stopped her actions, and said with wide, watery eyes, "Wait a minute, what? I was so active last night, and you just wrapped me in a blanket and did nothing? You're not a man! Do you think I'm not attractive enough?"
James, who had just returned to the room, heard Linda's words and felt extremely awkward.
"Linda, I was indeed tempted last night, but I was afraid that if I acted upon it, you would call the police and accuse me of rape. That's why I wrapped you in the blanket!" James explained softly, looking at Linda on the bed.
Upon hearing this, Linda turned around abruptly only to find James standing behind her. Her face turned red once again in embarrassment.
"When did you come in? Why did you come back?" Linda shouted, extremely agitated.
"I forgot my phone, so I just came back to get it!"
James quickly grabbed his phone from the bedside table and said to Linda, "Well, you carry on. I'm really leaving this time!"
"You..."
Linda looked at James with her watery eyes, not knowing what to say.
"James, wait a minute. I'll go out with you!"
After a brief moment of hesitation, Linda concluded that there was nothing left for her to do in that place, deciding it would be best to leave with James.
"Alright."
James, who had just reached the door, stopped upon hearing this.
Linda quickly tidied up her clothes and followed James out of the hotel.
Whether it was because of what happened last night or what Linda had just said, the atmosphere between them became somewhat awkward as they walked.
